  1. I have used a lot of suffix 832 and Diawa J braid grand, both in 20lb. I use the crazy Alberto knot for leaders and haven't had any issues. I have tried to tie the FG many times and it's just more of a pain than it's worth.
  2. After using the new Mojo Trigon for the last 2 years, I am ready to say, I don't like them. I miss the old Mojo line and I wish my 2 rods didn't break, otherwise, I wouldn't have the Trigon ones. My 1st one I received because I bought the old version of the frog rod and it exploded on me the 1st time I flexed it. I got the Trigon as a replacement for free. The 2nd one was because I was an idiot and broke the tip getting unsnagged from a tree. It was completely my fault. 1. I like the feel of the Trigon handle and it is comfortable to fish with, my issue is the quality. The handle is not normal cork, it reminds me of particle board and looks cheap. In fact, the rod butt is already cracking and the rod is not even 2 years old. I am not sure how you would fix it as the shape is odd and there is no butt cap to match it. 2. The other issue is that the reel seat doesn't stay locked, I am always tightening it. It is a shame as the older Mojo rods were much better. The added handle comfort doesn't offset my other issues with the rod. Luckly, I still have 1 older Mojo left.
  3. I enjoy catching the pike as they put up a good fight, but I enjoy catching everything when I go out to fish. I am not just a bass fisherman, I enjoy whatever my catch. I only target them in the one creek near my house where they are loaded with them.
  4. An update, I did get a response from Daiwa and it looks like they are legit reels, so that is good.
  5. For me, I have owned both and the new handle doesn't bother me in the least. I liked the old one too. The only issue I have noticed is that the locking nut for holding the reel on seems to loosen up too easily and I find myself checking it quite a bit.
  6. I know it looks that way cast_by_fly, but the logo is on the spool twice in opposite directions. so it is just the position of the spool from reeling. If you reel you will see it once right side up and then upside down as you spin it.
  7. Thanks twisted_metal, that makes me feel better. Just at that price, I was thinking I was somehow getting a counterfeit reel as I haven't seen that price on these reels anywhere else.
  8. Eric 26, I did send an email to Daiwa after creating this post, so I am hoping they can clear it up.
  9. Hello Everyone, I needed your help on this question about some reels I purchased. I purchased 2 Tatula Elites; they are supposed to be the same reel. The one on the left is from FishUSA and the other is from a seller on Amazon. I have examined the reels and box and the only differences I can spot between them is that the one from Amazon has the QR code on the bottom and the G-q vs J-h. stickers on the underside of the reel. The seller on Amazon was selling the Tatula Elite reels at a discount ($153 - $165). The box and packaging all look legit, do you think these are legit reels? Why would they have this QR code on them? Are they possibly from Japan? I did scan the code and it seems like it is a serial number.
