I'm primarily a smallmouth angler river fishing out of a kayak. Recently I made the decision to try and ditch trebles and replace them with single inline hooks for my poppers. I mainly use a megabass popx and switched from the trebles to a size #1 Owner inline replacement hook. I feel like for the most part that the action is unchanged. The only exception to this is when I go to walk the bait quickly, the bait seems like it's more likely to dig down into the water instead of on top. Wondering if I should drop down a size on the front to keep more weight on the rear, but a #2 hook is pretty small. Hoping someone has some tips.
