My guess was right at 8lbs. I’m obviously not sure if she was or not, but it seemed really close. In my 20’s I had access to a private lake with a ton of 3-5lb bass. It really spoiled me and a friend when it comes to bass fishing. We got really good at guessing weights in that range. I’m 49 now and this is my personal best bass. My 11 year old was beside me when I caught it and I told him I was going to keep it for a mount when I first pulled it out of the water. There’s not a lot of time to make those decisions. I have my biggest bucks mounted but no fish. I would up releasing it back after hurrying up and taking pictures. Doesn’t appear I can edit posts but I meant to say I “wound” up releasing it. Spell check gets me too often.

Thanks! I’m in Missouri here and bass 10lbs or more seem to be extremely rare. The state record here is 13 lbs 14 ox. and that was in 1961.
