New to the forum but wanted to introduce myself.
I’m from NY, the Hudson Valley.
I haven’t fished in years, but when I did it was mostly from the bank or a row boat. Using spinning gear looking for bass, but anything was enjoyable. I fished as a kid with my father, grandfather and my mother.
so after a long time of not fishing I decided I would start again and got myself a new baitcasting rod and reel and try something new. So after a lot of internet tips on setting up my new rig and hours of practicing casting and pulling out a few birds nests. I decided to hit the water. But as I continued my internet searches for more knowledge I came upon this site and joined. And I found a post from 2006 titled “ Guaranteed to Catch Bass” by Roadwarrior. So I read it and went out today and tried to apply what he wrote. Except I used a 2/0 Ewg hook on 5” Senko Green pumpkin watermelon and a 4” watermelon as that’s all I had on hand. But I was looking to use the technique to get the practice and technique/patience down. Well it paid off. Two SM Bass. 2.12 lb and 2.5 lb, From the bank on a lake.
thank you roadwarrior for that article.
