my issue is the website that I have access to to get 40% off the rods is out of the 7'9. I can get these rods for 140 there. So I don't really want to spend $100 more to get it from TW. But from what you are saying is that your 7'3 hvy throws 2oz baits fine. So I would assume that a 7'10 XHvy would throw 2.5oz baits fine. Also do you feel like the action of your rod is pretty true for a 7'3 Hvy? I have the 7'0 ML spinning and that has a nice action. I feel like shimano rods run pretty true on their specs.

What rod would you throw large treble hook baits on then. Obviously you throw small table Hooks baits on like medium/medium heavy moderate actions. But with large swimbaits you have to be throwing an extra heavy rod because the baits weigh so much

For 100 bucks you can't really go wrong with the slx. I had lots of issues with the old slx models. But they seem to have fixed everything in the slx a models. A daiwa tatula ct is also an amazing reel that I have and that I love. I prefer the tatula ct for more like moving baits, crankbaits, bladed Jigs, spinnerbaits, things like that. And I like the slx for more Flipping/frogging. So I'd base which reel you get off of that.

Update, I looked up the product catalog from 2019 with the 7'8 Xhvy specs. Amd its rated from 1/2-2oz. Which is like the same thing the 7'10 Xhvy is rated for. And Jared litner was throwing a large Glide Bait with the 7'8 and he said he enjoyed it. So I think the 7'10 will work just fine for what I need. But if any of you still have any experience with this rod I would love to know. Or what opinions you have. For reference the biggest swimbaits I throw is a Chad Shad, 8" Magdraft, and the 6th Sense Hangover. Thanks Guys!

See I want it as a Flipping stick as well. Cause I don't do enough big swimbait fishing to buy a dedicated rod just for swimbaits. I'm currently throwing my big swimbaits on a 7'6 Xtra heavy tatula xt. And that works okay. So I'm thinking it has to be better than that right🤣. I know the 7'9 is the dedicated swimbait model. I've never really heard of anyone using the 7'10. So trying to get some info on it. I saw a video of Jared Litner using the old model 7'8 XHvy as a swimbait rod. So I am trying to find the specs on that old model.

Hello, I am thinking about getting this rod. I wanted the 7'9 XH but it's literally sold out everywhere. I want a rod for heavy Flipping and larger swimbaits. Up to about 2.5oz. Are these rods very similar. Cause the 7'9 is rated up to 5oz whereas the 7'10 is rated up to 2oz. But I have a hard time believing a 7'10 XH couldn't handle a 2.5 oz swimbaits. And feedback would be greatly appreciated!
