  1. I just checked and the is a 2-piece 7 ft XML casting rod (8-17 lb, 1/4 -3/4 oz.) on e-bay
  2. I have a 2-piece baitcaster and spinning and casting 4-piece rods from Cabela's. If you can find an XML, you'll find the multi- piece rods fish as well as their 1-piece counterparts. I've been out of the game for a while, but I think the XML is still a solid rod.
  3. That's a bit rich for my blood since I lose several lure each outing😄 Agreed, there's a special pleasure in using a smooth reel and sensitive rod, even when I get skunked.
  4. Thanks everyone, there are a lot of great weedless rig suggestions here. Regarding kayaks, I am most anxious about getting in and out and maybe getting cramps as I contort my body to manage my tackle.
  5. So, basically a floating worm presentation? I've used floating white Zoom worms, but not at the the cabin.
  6. Center Pond in Becket. The challenge for me is standing up. My brain has difficulty adjusting my feet and balancing at the same time. Storing a Jon boat would be a problem. Kayaks are stored in the basement, and we walk them the few hundred yards down to the beach. I'm debating a sit on top kayak-my concern is losing my tackle if I do flip. PFD is a given Cheers! Leon
  7. I'm aware of swimming jigs, but I have to google grass jigs.
  8. So, basically a floating worm presentation? I've used floating white Zoom worms, but not at the the cabin.
  9. My In-laws have a cabin off a 125 acre pond. Located in the Berkshires, the pond has crystal clear water, but it has areas that are heavily populated with Eurasian milfoil and/or curly-leaf pond weed. In the past I have stuck with poppers and shallow running cranks. When visiting, I fish from the dock or off to the side of beach. Are there baits that that will slide through the weeds. I do have access to kayaks that would allow me to reach more of the pond. However, I have balance challenges and difficulty getting in and out of them. Usually, my favorite baits are Fat Ikas and various top water baits (in the morning). I also like weightless T-rigged Senkos. Thanks!
  10. Around 8 years ago I stopped fishing for health reasons. I'm now thinking about taking the sport up again. I used to fish from the banks of a local quarry and pond. I have too many nice rods and reels for bank fishing, so rather than looking for new rods & reels, I intend to learn about new techniques that have gained popularity since I last went fishing. Cheers! Leon
