  1. Anglers caught doing things like that should be kicked from that day of the tournment minimum. Hopefully DNR follows up with fines or a warning at least.
  2. Im going with Walter's, Mckinney, Card, Milikin and Hammner
  3. Scott ruined his own brand with his actions. Saying “informants” should have to come forward is like victim blaming. Again the anglers protesting Martin have to file formally with BASS in a signed document. They will not investigate rules violations unless an angler formally files a complaint. BASS is choosing not to release the name(s) involved as is Scott. Why Scott doesn’t want to say I’m guessing involves legality like slander or defamation or the possibility the truth comes fully out and he would loose what reputation he has left. Again BASS leader ship has stated they saw the video of the incident involving the Lake O dq. They have not said he was guilty of a Lake P violation just under investigation. Scott chose to leave before he could be dq’d from lake P. He also said he did not think he could pass the poly. That’s the same as admitting at least some guilt in the situation. That’s all on him, not bass, not the other anglers, not the general public.
  4. If a Googan deal is the prize I’d take the loss
  5. Scott also says he doesn't know the angler he traded information with so take that for what it is.
  6. I'm not sure where the disconnect is between how and what the rules are vs are not rules. The Jonhston brothers although I don't like them are not braking rules the way they operate. The Team 6 guys(Livesey, Somerall, Loutbe, Milliken), The crew Martin was housing with(Martin, Canterbury, and 2 other I dont remember who) and many other do the same or similar. The difference is its not against the rules to communicate or operate with fellow competitors. It is however illegal to SOLICIT information that is not public. Ie someone randomly offering you information is not the same as bartering for information. As far as the reporting of rules violations anonymously. Again you can't report anonymously. That's not a thing. You have to fill out a signed document or the leagues will not investigate. The leagues make the decision weather to list who filed it or not. Same with releasing the video behind the Lake O dq. BASS has stated they saw the video and agreed with Martin that if he self reported it would stay private. Why they made that decision is anyone's guess. That's not rumor or hearsay that is from BASS. Now as far as the Lake P dq Scott couldn't fail a poly he refused to take so the investigation is closed incomplete. Ie they can't/won't release information because there was no definite conclusion. Scott has made himself look guilty. His entire side of the story is either half the truth or an entire lie again trying to save face. That's not the leagues doing that's all through Scott. He made the information on the goings on public to the YouTube channels people want to discredit.
  7. You cant file an anonymous protest. Bass is choosing not to release the name of the protesters. Infact if you listen to the various podcasts or TV shows many of the tournament directors and anglers have covered how the protests work be it Bass, MLF NPFL what have you. The easiest way for a sport to be policed is competition enforcement. We do the same thing in motorsports. Circle track for example if I think or know a guy has illegal shocks on his car I can pay a fee/claim rule to either have the shocks checked or I can buy/claim them off the car right then and there. I also know other teams have the same option so instead of tech guys having to go through a bunch of checks every night teams police themselves.Im not going to spend the money on exotic/illegal equipment if it can be taken that easily so there is no incentive to cheat.
  8. Looks like the proof is in the pudding. It's a d**n shame to see a an angler like Martin go out a cheater but he made the choices.
  9. If you have more issues with line brakes get a different spool of line. I had a bad spool of suffix fluro last year.
  10. I dont think this is necessarily drama. This is an angler and a pretty well known one at that braking the rules. Drama to me is more like the brawl at the restaurant, Ike yelling at dogs, guys arguing about coming in on each other/spot stealing. Things like that.
  11. It wasn't exactly bogus. He practiced then found out he was busted so he self reported to try and save face. Originally he said he overheard a conversation unintentionally. The true story appears to be that he actually asked for the information.Well as with most things in this day and age the truth started coming out. Now he and Bass both look foolish. Bass for promoting his bs self report and Scott for the whole situation he created.
  12. Im not sure. All I know is BASS said they had the video but would not be releasing it. My understanding was if Scott self reported they would keep the video private. My guess is whoever helped him would look bad as well and didn't want that attention. So it's probably someone famous like another pro or possibly YouTuber ect. Otherwise I cant see why they would keep the video private.Supposedly some other pros had seen the video as well.
  13. Polys aren’t the only way to enforce rules. The last Martin DQ had video evidence. Recorded calls, paper trails of bought and sold waypoints, eyewitnesses are other ways rules are enforced. I don’t disagree though the no information rule does need addressed. Honestly I don’t care if they remove it all together. With all the other tech in fishing now no info rules don’t do a whole lot.
  14. Get Ur Fish On is the YouTuber that discussed it yesterday. Multiple anglers have discussed the FL dq. I agree polys aren’t the most trustworthy system but they aren’t useless either. The bigger problem I have is he literally just got busted only self reporting because he knew he was caught and now he’s caught again. Personally I think if it comes about he’s guilty it should be a 1 year ban. I also don’t like the no information rules but if they are going to have them and an angler is blatantly braking them you have to send a message it won’t be tolerated.
  15. A YouTube channel that follows bass fishing and is pretty credible. He was one of the first to report the last few dqs. Supposedly he has been directly in contact with Martin about what's going on and has been told by Martin he will be kept in the loop on what he decides as far as taking the poly or not. Some other pros have stated the believe this is an ongoing thing with Martin both to reports and on personal channels. Granted that's more or less hearsay but it's awfully suspicious at this point. I personally have no idea if it's true or not but I'm interested to see what others have also seen or heard reported obviously not from the 2nd uncles grand dad's buddies kid but actual information.
  16. Looks like Scott Martin's been busted or called out for the no info rule at Pasquotank. He says he doesn't think he broke the rules but also doesn't think he can pass a poly. That's a pretty bad black eye on his brand.
  17. It's an all original unrestored 79 k10 scottsdale. 44k miles
  18. The crush doesn’t have a loud rattle. If you want a different sound you’ll want a different version of their cranks.
  19. That’s one of the reasons I love my square body. Simplicity, new tech is great but it’s hard to beat reliability and style.
  20. Another example is a magneto style distributor. You can spin a magneto distributor gear by hand and it will absolutely generate electricity. Roughly 20,000 volts. That's with just you holding the distributor in one hand and turning the gear in the other. I don't recommend doing this as it hurts like hell but it's an old joke mechanics played on new people unfamiliar with how they work and what they are capable of. No battery or other sources of electricity needed.
  21. Engines don't rely on a stored charge to run. So long as the engine can generate its own electrical current when being turned over it will be able to provide spark to run and give or take how the electrical system is wired or if it has a mechanical fuel pump can supply itself with fuel. The stored charge of a batteries main purpose is to supply power for the starter motor. For simplicity think about the ford modle A. No battery required. When you cranked the motor over by hand crank attached to the engines crank shaft it started moving the mechanical components of the engine. The distributor starts turning when the crank spins and starts creating electrical energy needed to create spark. The fuel pump also being mechanically driven starts to supply fuel. Once you spin the motor fast enough and you get air fuel and spark to the motor it starts. All this is done mechanically without the need of batteries or mechanical starters. Even up until the mid 2000s most diesel engines didn't require batteries to be started or run. With a diesel you don't have the need to stop spark because they don't use spark. Combustion comes from heat and cylinder psi. So to stop a diesel you have to take away fuel or air. Most diesels cut the fuel supply through the mechanical fuel pumps. 2 stroke Detroit also had flapper valves that choked off the intake. They had a bad habit of "running away where they would run on oil scavenged from the crank case so cutting fuel wouldn't help because a diesel can and will burn oil and anything else it can get hot enough to combust so you have to take away the air supply. All engines require 3 things to run Air, fuel and spark/combustion. To stop them you have to remove one of those 3 things.
  22. Most engines if working properly can run with the battery disconnected after starting. The battery(s) main function is supplying power for the starter motor after that the charging system takes over supplying the electrical circuits for operation. Some engines require no batteries for example a 350 chevy with a mechanical fuel pump and magnito style ignition can be started and ran by push or pulling starting the vehicle(sprint cars). The engine when turning over creates spark and fuel supply mechanically without the need for any outside electrical battery or charging system.
  23. For reference disconnecting the spark plug wires from the spark plugs will stop the motor from being able to start but does not stop the starter from being able to be engaged. To stop the motor from actually being able to turn over weather it starts or not you have to disable the starter motor circuit. To do that you can disconnect the positive starting motor battery cable, make sure the master shut off if equipped is off, disconnect the power wire at the starter, remove fuses and relays in the starter circuit, and some other more complicated and unnecessary steps. Generally the quickest and easiest is remove the positive battery cable althought any combination of the above will work like redundant saftey steps. I personally don't trust master switches. I've had them fail both open where power couldn't get where it needed to and closed where the switch doesn't shut power off. Disconnecting the postive cable guarantees power isint getting to the motor. If you don't trust that it cut power put the key in the ignition and try to start the motor nothing should happen if power is safely disconnected. As for the prop be aware it can be sharp I wear mechanics gloves when I work on mine but thats more habit than anything I've banged my hands up a lot so I try to wear gloves whenever I can working on stuff.
  24. If you are concerned about the engine starting or turning over just unhook the positive battery cable. You can also unhook the negative if it makes you more comfortable. The other things you listed are impossible or next to impossible. Out of curiosity what are you doing with the prop?If trying to lock to remove they have locking tools or you can use a board and the ground to stop it spinning. Generally I hold mine by hand and can brake the prop nut loose.I only ask because your concerns with the motor while reasonable are pretty basic knowledge for those with mechanical knowledge of engine operation. You may want/need some more instruction or insight into what your project requires before you get started. I mean absolutely no offense whatsoever I just would hate for you to get in over your head if you don’t have the tools or knowledge for what you are attempting. I’m a mechanic by trade.
  25. Finally had a good score after the classic. To bad I bombed the first 2 lol.
