  1. This is the exact reason why I used glue only at the final tie off! 😄
  2. Ok @PaulVE64, let's see how matte black works with a marabou jig...tried palmering the first time. Took me a while to make this one 😅
  3. Just ordered gray tint polarized prescription sunglasses with green mirror. Seems like the recommendation for small water is green mirror. Looking fwd to using it!
  4. Interesting perspective! I will have to add matte colors as things to try. That would be my first choice of colors to try. Thanks both! The bait monkey approves of your support!
  5. Silly question, but why is matte color better for clear water situations? Is it considered more natural? But isn't most bait fishing shinny?
  6. I have a couple of them in 2500 size. I like them because of the screw in handle, no play in the handle when engaging or stopping. They also have nice smooth drags. Additionally they don't have mag seal. I fish freshwater only. That way, I can disassemble them for cleaning without worrying about mag seal fluid.
  7. +1 for NRS Chinook. As other have said, nothing to fail with regards to deployment as long as the vest is worn properly. I don't find it bulky. The pockets are nice. One holds phone with tether, another holds small tools like pliers and braid cutter, others hold some snacks.
  8. Finesse weedless poison jigs. Made with a modified poison swing tail mold and victory 10777 hook.
  9. I believe VMC 7147 should work in this application. I just started using them. Their build quality is consistent and good and hooks are sharp. Have not had a chance to fish them yet. Owner 5318 should also work...but they are expensive!
  10. I just started powder painting. I started with a heat gun, but found it tricky on timing when doing different sizes...so I decided to use the toaster oven. Only tried it once. Seems to do OK on small batch (10 or so jigs at a time). Did the oven cool down too much with repeated opening?
  11. Thanks! I used VMC 9147.
  12. Hi all, First post...just wanted to say hi and thank all the wisdom that I have gleamed from here. Very first lead cast with a modified do-it mold.
