  1. Not necessarily the cork hump but primarily just the low profile, almost nonexistent reel set itself. Of course I much prefer cork for most of my rods but will use EVA grips when I build my saltwater/inshore spinning rods.
  2. I have a few older TD casting rods and the reel seats are the absolute, most comfortable reel seats I have felt. Is there any current manufacture that has a similar reel seat w/ the comfort level of these older rods?
  3. I also run mono (12 & 14) on my casting reels but have 1 reel with Daiwa J-Braid 50# for the heavy stuff. I prefer mono over braid but I’m old school….. However, I run 20# braid on my fleet of Stradic saltwater reels.
  4. Looking for several of the Gomexus 90mm Black handles for Shimano (7x4mm) with or without knobs.
  5. Well, I was at Wally World and couldn’t resist grabbing another EVO (and my last). I’ve bought the following: 6’6” Med—Chronarch 200E6 6’8” M/H—Chronarch 200E7 7’0” M/H—Citica 200E 7’3” H—-Curado 200E7
  6. Scan the UPC label with your phone through the Walmart app. Two of mine had no indication of the discounted price on the hang tag but reflected the $32 when scanned…..
  7. I picked up a 7’3” Heavy today to go with my 6’6” and 6’8” EVO. Can’t be beat for $32/ea.
  8. I run a Shimano Sahara 500FJ on my old Loomis S661-IM6 UL .......
  9. I believe that incorrect information is often spread to steer potential buyers away from large chain stores such as Walmart because the smaller retailers just can't compete w/ pricing. That being said, I would rather give my business and pay a slight premium to a mom/pop shop as long as I am getting the service.
  10. No on-water experience as of yet but they look to be built very well. I've been building spinning, casting and fly rods for the past 30 years and the thread work, guide placement/alignment, finish and cork seem to be decent quality w/ some filler. Also, they use the Fuji #ECSM reel seats (casting) which is a nice, blank exposed reel seat.
  11. Would like to find a 7'0" EVO spinning rod but both of my local Walmart stores are out of stock on this model.....
  12. Agreed, the TD-S 6’3” is a very nice rod with the perfect length handle. Many top water rods have too long of a handle. Sounds like you’re a hardcore Pop-R guy with a handle like Zell-Pop1. Many people here are too young to know who Zell Rowland is……. The master of the Rebel Pop-R!! Was at my local Wally and picked up a 6’8” Falcon EVO. It’ll compliment my old Team Daiwa LT 6’6” Wormin’/Jiggin’ rod.
  13. The (2) '24 Tatula reels I purchased were pretty dry from the factory. One was a domestic and the other was a JDM.
  14. I picked up a Falcon EVO VFC-4-166 (6'6") Med action for $32 this past weekend at Walmart. Looks to make a nice popper/jerkbait rod. I'm still using an old Team Daiwa-S 6'3" for my topwater and this seems to have more of a parabolic flex to it.......
  15. I own both Shimano and Daiwa reels. However, I prefer Shimano baitcasting reels to Daiwa and split between Shimano and Daiwa when it comes to spinning reels.
