that looks like one of cabelas reel seats. here's the link http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0003577315304a&navCount=1&podId=0003577&parentId=cat20366&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat20366&catalogCode=IH&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20366&hasJS=true
i bought a couple of them from cabelas also. mine were okay but alittle dry so i used the oil that came with them and added a couple drops to the bearings, now they're smooth as silk again.
i think the question is are you only flipping with this rod or are you pitching too? if its a flipping only rod, you'll want the length for reach and alittle more distance. if you pitch more then you flip, i would go with a 7 footer. i'm 5'7" and i flip with a 8' rod but pitch with a 7 footer.
a 6'6" would be a great all purpose rod but its not one of your choices. most of the pros nowadays use a 7' or longer for the distance and hook setting power but go to shorter rods for accurate casting around docks and trees.
hi guys, anybody else make these and want to sell them by the 100 packs or know of a place to buy them? i'm suprised with all the knock off senkos, there isn't any of the fat ikas. willing to buy or trade for if anybody wants to make some.
looks nice and great idea but i think it'll only work on seats that are a tight fit to the blank. it'll look hot with a titanium or aluminum winding check in front of that. you can turn a small peice of eva for the same effect if the gap is larger between the seat and blank.
hi guys, i'm new here but read alot of posts about the fat ika and see alot of guys that like them. i've been using them for awhile now and was wondering if anybody made a copy that i could buy by bulk packs? any help would be appreciated...
