  1. Thanks! I am going to keep the siglett as a my main trout UL (light trebles and spinners). If i feel the need to upgrade to something for light finesse single hook applications, I may go the spinning rod route! Agreed. I also don't know that I really BFS fish enough times to warrant a second rod on deck. Maybe a more universal light spinning rod is a better second choice for UL finesse plastics
  2. Thanks for the input everyone! I ended up with: NRX+ 904c MBR Steez AGS Bottom Contact 2 Plan is to use the BC2 for t-rigs, and 904c for Jigs/C-rigs/big swing impacts
  3. Hello all, I recently picked up a MB destroyer siglett and am using it to cast small jerkbaits (pointer 48 & 65, mb x-70), small topwater (mb baby pop-x), and small cranks. Occasionally casting small jigs/jigheads (under 1/8oz) I plan to keep using baits in that 1/16 to 3/16oz range. The problem with the siglett is, it is (definitely as describe) "ultra-ultralight". Casting 1/16oz and 1/10oz lures is enjoyable, but the rod quickly becomes sluggish after 1/8oz. The secondary problem is that when I throw on a single hook lure, not matter the weight, there is absolutely no hook-setting power. I understand BFS is going to be a lighter all around, and its not like hammering home a 3/0 hook with a heavy action rod. But when I mean it had no hook-setting power, i was continually loosing fish with size #2 keitech ball head jigs. Question here is: can i swap this rod out for the F1 popx stick, or even F2 criffhanger, and get a tiny more "umph" in the rod, while still being able to throw those small pointer 48s and yo-zuri pin minnows (both 1/16oz and the lightest lure i cast) Thanks for your time!
  4. Thanks! I am leaning toward the 845. I was looking at medium/mod, mod-fast rods but wasn't sure how they would react with the slightly deeper diving baits (like the deep little n, etc.)
  5. Hello all! I am in search of a crankbait rod, 7' or over, to throw the following baits; Lucky Craft LC 1.5 (1/2oz) 6th sense 50x (3/8oz) 6th sense C6 (1/2 oz) Rapala DT8 (3/8oz) 6th sense curve 55 (3/8oz) Bomber 7A (1/2oz) Strike King 3xd (7/16oz) Price real doesn't matter, but i usually budget around $200-$300. Looking for a longer rod to make longer casts for shallow/medium divers. I already own a 783cbr, but i main use that for jerkbaits. TIA
  6. Jigs and t-rigs under 3/8oz. Spinnerbaits and buzzbaits under 1/2oz.
  7. Is anyone fishing the Shimano Poison Adrena series? Worth a shot?
  8. Is the 873 overpowered for 1/4oz to 3/8oz weights plus plastics? Actually, found a used FMJ last night and ordered it! Thanks! Now looking for that Medium Heavy/Heavy to cover finesse and lighter t-rigs!
  9. Havent even considered this rod, but it is on my radar now!
  10. Hello all, First post on Bass Resource, long time fisherman, I have recently acquired a small fishing boat for free, and I thought what a better time to grab a couple of rods for the adventure. For the past 10 years, I have fished rivers out of a canoe so my rods reflect that style of fishing. (Shorter rods, medium/medium heavy). For my first installment, I am going to acquire two different rods that are bottom contact rods (t-rigs, jigs and jig heads w/ swimbaits). Ive been scouring the web and I am getting conflicting info about what rod is actually capable of.... Right now I have the following rods Loomis IMX MBR 843c. This is an old rod. I used to use this rod for light t-rigs and light jigs. I loved it, but I am going to use this rod as a dedicated spinnerbait/buzzbait rod. Loomis IMX PRO 842c. I use this rod for a light all-arounder. Jerkbaits, squarebills, etc. So what I am looking is: 1 rod for light t-rigs/jigs under 1/2oz 1 rod for medium/heavy t-rigs/jigs over 1/2oz, occasionally used for c-rigging and heavy jighead with keitechs. Cost doesnt really matter as I like to find used/deals. I enjoy rods around 7' with a max of 7'6". I am a huge loomis fan, but also have heard good things about Daiwa. I have one destroyer p5 and I like it and would like to see what the rest of the line-up is like. Let me know what you think! Right now I am focusing on MB X-bites, NRX 873crr, NRX 853 & 4 JWR. TIA
