So I will be buying a fish finder for a paddle kayak. It has a recessed slot in the bottom for the ultrasound probe. Its a crescent light tackle 2. I had originally decided on a late model hook reveal 7 tripleshot but then I talked myself into a late model helix 7 mega si g3 but that one sold out. I noticed that the garmin echomap uhd 93sv is on sale at bass pro for 699. I didnt want to spend that much as I can get the hook reveal tripleshot for around 350. My question is whether the garmin is worth the premium or whether I am throwing away money? Id like to get a good one and id pay the 699 if its worth it but if I am not gonna know a difference either way id prefer to save the money? What do yall think? Is there a certain fish finder you would recommend instead? Is there a certain one that does better with the slow speeds of kayaks? Thanks, Bryan

Ok so I know this is my fault/bad technique but several times I've gone to cast and either I bird nest or something goes wrong and the line stops short....and on multiple occasions the line stopped and the lure keeps going....aka gone. This was usually with heavy 1oz lures. Anyways 2 question.....is 14lb line too small for 1oz lures? Or is it a knot issue.....it seems like the knot is coming untied as opposed to it breaking as when I feel it in the terminal line is curled like it was the knot. I usually use a trilene knot but it's happened with Palomar....is there a better knot? Any advice on this? Has this happened to you?

Hello all, I currently have a medium heavy bait caster, a medium spinning rod, and a medium heavy spinning rod. Lately in the pond I am in I have found myself having best luck with ned rigs and small light rooster tails. I would like to get a better rod for to help me achieve a greater casting distance with these lighter lures. Would I be best with a medium light rod or should I go even lighter? Any advice would be appreciated. Id like to keep the whole setup under 150.00. It does not have to be a combo setup if you have recommendations of different reels and rods but if you recommend separate let me know what size spinning reel you recommend.

I have a local pond and recently I can't catch anything....the only thing I have gotten a bite on is a top water frog....but as soon as they blow up on the frog....they immediately spit it out....I've read all about giving them a second before you set the hook....but it's like nearly instantly that they bite it and then spit it out...I can't even react fast enough to set the hook if I wanted to....any idea why this is?

I tried the fg and it just wouldn't work....it bunched up and formed a bit knot....the wrappings didn't seem to spread out like on videos

Hello all, I just put for the first time braided line on my pole. I bought 15lb braided line and a 10lb leader of fluorocarbon. I was trying to tie this FG knot and realized that its not going to work with that small of line. Is there a knot that people recommend for attaching leader to line when using 15lb braid to 10lb fluorocarbon?
