Enjoy learning as much as I can about Bassin. I’m usually a mid day basser. I enjoy fishing here in the Ca Delta, my home town area. Need a bigger PB. 7.2 can be beat. I like throwing worms and frogs mostly.

  1. Hi Mike, thank you for you input. I’m thinking you’re right..they just left for a while to chase shad. Because this spot is one of those magical places that has everything a bass needs except for a tv. Oh well guess we’ll never be able to totally figure these guys out 🤷‍♂️
  2. They could be at 7 Eleven getting BIG GULPS
  3. Basically they doing the jiggy with it.
  4. Hello. I live in Rio Vista California on the Sacramento delta. There is a Very Special place (we all know one of those “places”).. Fishing this summer was great but anyone have a theory on why this kind of spot would all of a sudden go quiet. Dead quit. The only thing I saw were some small shad flickering on the surface tonight. One more thought to note, I noticed the fish gradually got smaller at my “spot”. So that’s part of the puzzle as well? Thanks for any input.
  5. Interesting ?, like that idea
  6. I use the Lost Creek brand of tube jig heads for stup rigging. They have great shape and should work in any tube. 1/8 seems to be the perfect size and wt.
  7. Welcome fellow basser!
  8. Lol ya anything is possible when fighting that fish. But there’s been a lot of great comments on here. Sounds like the clutch/ clicker is being used during fights to give the angler a thumb manual drag Wow! That is wild!! I’m glad you still have your thumb Tom! Did you catch the fish? ?
  9. Yep this is has to be the only reason for it. It just seems sketchy going from pretty locked down to using your thumb. But thank you guys. I appreciate it. Thanks guys
  10. My everyday rod is a dobyns Kaden 713c with a diawa tatula sv tw 7.something. I’ve got some high end 12lb flouro on it right now and love it. Thank you for the drag setting info, but I mainly was concerned about why some ppl ply with the clutch while in a fight because I watch some pros on tv and I could almost swear I hear that distinct clicking sound on occasion when the bass is around the boat…anyway thank you! Woops this was for you WRB, ?‍♂️?
  11. What makes a “great” senko rod? I’m surprised I didn’t hear a dobyns suggested?
  12. Hey Guys, so I grew up fishing spinning gear exclusively because that was how we fished here. Naturally I ended up with my first baitcaster several years ago. Fairly straightforward (or dumb) question. Why do some anglers click the spool release/ clutch during a fight? What reason or advantage/purpose does that serve during the fight? I personally have never found a reason to do that. I’d appreciate any info or education on this. Thank you. Z from the dirty D
  13. Hi Darth. ..so that’s why it was closed the other day. Interesting that you’re going to be working on it that’s cool. Been on that thing many times.. I keep an (inflatable) SUP in my vehicle and lately I’ve been checking out some new areas but I want to eventually get a yak. Steamboat slough has been fun to fish lately but I have to cut all the way around Isleton and around the isleton bridge and find my little sandy pathway for SUP.. anyways keep in touch, maybe throw some rattle traps by the ferry ?‍♂️✌️
  14. Ah it ain’t that bad ?
