  1. The you tube videos made it look easy !
  2. Great advice. Thank you. ? l mentioned here that l do appreciate you all.
  3. Makes sense, considering 200 lbs guy pushing water and diverting a 50 pound plastic kayak off center.? Makes sense that an experienced paddler should make that conclusion based on a beginner could do as well.
  4. Today l felt comfortable with out the riggers. Have to get the knack of padding better to track straight and not tip side to side. When l paddled on one side and gave the yak time to go forward l was able to paddle on the same side and stay straight. I’ll probably use the riggers for a little while while l fish to get used to casting and maneuvering until l feel confident enough not to use them. A guy and his dog was there and said oh you got training wheels? I said yeah got get used to this thing and it helps. Moving them up against the hull made a big difference. Another guy pulled up that was fishing and said he caught a 5 pound pickerel on a whooper plopper! He gave me two of them. Nice guy! He was in a sit in yak complained he didn’t have the right seat cushion he normally has and his back was a bit sore. I was a little tuckered from the little bit l did, thinking l just need a little more time on the water and it should be good afterwards. Staying along the bank feels like you’re getting somewhere but open water? Nah. The guy said some use cordless drills with all thread and props. He got me thinking once l’m far away and just want to get back wouldn’t be a bad idea !
  5. been watching headwaters kayak you tube channel yak shop owner... He only goes over features but no stability and tracking, only that "it's very sable but not what to look for to know about what goes in to it to be stable. Any you tube channels that cover in depth descriptions on various kayaks ?
  6. Eventually Guess l could. I can install a bracket to mount it. Only problem is l push maximum weight
  7. Hull shape… from keel to main deck. Shape ? More like the degree of angle from keel to the water line or main deck. I get that. So far you’re the ONLY one who pointed this out. And any video or anything l read didn’t say what you’re saying. My yak tracks great alone, but shifts too much unless l gently paddle on the surface and barely shift my torso and just use my arms. I remember watching people compete and that’s all l see moving is thier arms. Give a try tomorrow thanks.
  8. I know it’s common sense but a wider deck yak helps alot to alleviate this issue. Sometimes you just have to experience it to see. Someone said here at least 34 inches wide minimum. Mine is 29.
  9. Uh yeah l get that now but doesn’t change the fact they’re AH’s Too much bad info out there I do, and chain stores could care less if you’re satisfied. I had boughts with chain manufacturers and won ! I had stuff for years and broke their balzz and got stuff practically for free, stuff for just about the price of this crap yak do WTH the difference who sells it to you, being dissatisfied is being dissatisfied. But lately l don’t contend anymore because l don’t care anymore. It’s not worth it to get jacked up over. I have all l need for the most part and isn’t worth the hassle. BTW l modified other stuff like a reloading press and install stops on it and didn’t have to return it to get it upgraded for half the price over a decade later and didn’t have to return it! DICKS sux ! Might do that
  10. I'm new at this and understand why a baitcaster reel won't cast right on a spinning rod ! thought about it. ummm, no man, it's thier attitude with the whole deal ! You need to ask question before assuming that. I'm done shopping thier because thier clerks should have some knowledge, and if the store cared, they would !!! Follow ??
  11. Yes No Finally someone who gave me a straight answer and is correct. Called the Dicks l bought it from and told a manager to train thier clerks the basics on purchasing and using a yak. And said l guess l’m stuck with it coz of mods. He said yes unfortunately. And nothing they can do for me. So l said l’ll never step foot in your store again, waiting for his response and hung up. No more Dicks for me.
  12. I’m 200 lb 6 foot the max weight is 278 for the yak. Just me paddling, without any gear, it’s too shifty for my liking. Now l wouldn’t have ever thought about that ! But l see any stabilizer kit has a pointed end to cut water but even those don’t compare to a keel
  13. It’s an unstable POS. There are a little higher priced Lifetime yaks that are stable. Dicks could care less what they sell. Because l saw alot of people use them on youtube and seemed to be a good idea. But l guess l’ll try them close and almost touching the hull, if not then scrap it and hang up fishing period. Need to save money. I don’t want to stand in it. Leaning to one side or having to turn around to reach for gear without have to tip over. I didn’t feel comfortable when l paddled with out the riggers. They do help and they do float they’re inflatable, the have air stems thanks for the help lm out. Maybe you guys are made of money but lm not. I’m tired of throwing it away
  14. Gee thanks for the reminder. Wouldn’t have known that without you.
  15. stability I'm sure the room is the same as what I have now. I looked at one and it looks good
  16. Holes as in I drilled. Even when I paddled close to the hull, it was still no good swift speed. I moved the stabilizers close to the hull. So we'll see how that goes.
  17. POS ain’t worth what l payed for it. It’s riddled with holes. Pelican doesn’t have customer satisfaction policy. l moved the dock bumpers closer to the hull. Wanna hug them as close as l can get them. Too much resistance where they were. But maybe it be easier to paddle close to the hull. Find out Monday morning.
  18. Nothing about like or want, need is what l look for. pelican sucks as a company they said they can’t do nothing for me. They assumed l stood up in it, l said it’s unstable.
  19. Nothing about like or want, need is what l look for.
  20. For an extra hundred bucks Dicks has a Lifetime yak 12 foot, taller and wider. What a waste of time and money with the pelican blitz. I’m out.
  21. I thought so too. It’s made with loose tolerances
  22. Works like a drag car parachute, pretty cool ! and what’s the black bungee for on the other side of the anchor line ?
  23. Can you run a rod anchor on the back?
  24. Bank fishing is limited to cast.. being on the water facing it isn’t more so. Wouldn’t even consider a pvc extender to transport. I was talking about stabilizers/outriggers
  25. Thought about check valves. This yak isn’t very tall and the drain holes aren’t that far away from the bottom. Really didn’t think this through and should’ve waited before l bought it. The whole time l was on the water the level was at the top of the holes. If someone wakes past me that excessively will have to deal with me. You disconnect it driving, that would be the logical thing to do! ? seems restricted to me and slipping looks evident. Before l even stood up on a rubber pad on the bigfish 105 l would dry it first. I wouldn’t be walking around per-say but in the event l needing something further forward it’s nice to have the access and l feel have no possible trip hazard. I watched a guy tip his bigfish 105 retrieving his camera and walked to far causing it to tip to far and fell over board loosing some of his gear. I made a comment that kneeling and distributing his weight maybe laying on his stomach then reaching for his camera. It’s a kayak not a boat.
