  1. Looking for Size or Numbers? Size: Swimbaits 6" or larger late evening or early early morning. Number: Small baits on dropshot or the NED rig (something with a slow fall) same hours. "Fish 'em early fish 'em late Fish bit best from six til eight" I like the way it rhymes, and it keeps me out of the heat. Can't get out like I used to, can't be gone for more than an hour or two at most. Fishing a DS + Tiny Fluke or NED rig from 6:30 til 8:30 (+ or -) I've averaged 7=12 bass per night for the last two weeks. Did get a 6.26, 3.75 and a few twos on the swimbait, but the numbers are with the smaller baits on light 6lb tackle. Seems like I'm putting on a clinic every other night. I've given away 2 packs of Shroomz and as many baits. just so I don't feel guilty. Done well on the Finesse ShadZ and Finesse WormZ, haven't been able to get bit on the TRD, maybe that's a Smallie thing.

  3. I've been using Cocoons for at least the last eight years. About $50 a pair at BPS and their warranty is good. Usually the inside of the ear piece starts to show wear after a year. Jut take them back in to BPS and get them replaced. Decent selection of lens colors.
  4. Looked like the slow sink was about a foot per second I was throwing it on 20# mono.
  5. X2 I enjoy the shiner bite in the winter and spring when I can keep them alive, but once the temps go up, I'm back to artificials. Caught big fish both ways. It's the time oout there that counts. Congrats on the nice fish.
  6. Yes Mattheww2000 that's the Terrova w/iPilot. I'm aging like LongMike and need all the help I can get. 20 mph winds don't bother me at all (depending on the lake) Example, Lake Toho, East Toho or Kissemee can get nasty. But here are enough lakes here in central FLA that there is always someplace to put the boat in and fish. As always, a little common sense goes a long ways.
  7. Depends on the water I'm fishing. Some of the lakes I fish have little to no vegetation, on those waters I fish a weighted swimbait hook and crawl it across the bottom. If I can't feel the bottom, It's too fast. Other lakes with good eel grass for example a weighted swimbait hook or swim jig just over or thru the tops of the grass.
  8. All the above Plus the Winter Park Chain. Underhill has been doing good, Baldwin is a little off, maybe i'll hit winter park chain today and let you know.
  9. Understandings are good. X2
  10. Backlash, it looks like you're already moving up from a 12v to a at least a 24v. I went from a 12v 45# to a 24v 80# and have never looked back.I'm running a 176XT Stratos. the 24 v has never let me down, even fishing all day in 15-20 mph wind. The old TM wouldn't last til noon in those conditions. i think your concern about the extra weight is valid, also what about space AND the new battery charger you're going to need.
  11. I agree Roger, it hasn't changed in that respect(the hydrilla). I've got easy access to the Fab-5 and it's my favorite. But it sure has me puzzled this year. Either I slept thru the spawn or it jut hasn't fired off yet. Last year this time they were on fire, 20 fish short days were common. Now I can't get them fired up. Time will tell. Fished it again today with my partners son for the first time. Had a great day, plenty of bites but they's drop the bait frequently and if the bait got too close to the surface the Osprey's got 'em before the Bass could. It was kinda comical to watch. Good to hear from you and if I come down to your end of town I'll certainly give you a call.
  12. Fished Underhill this afternoon, 4 hrs 11 fish from 2 - 5 1/2 lbs. all but 2 were over 3. partly cloudy, wind ENE 10-15, Water 63.4*, Air 67.3* Only two fish on artificials the 2 lbrs, all the rest on shiners. fished North side and saw no beds. No bloody tails, but full tummies.
  13. it would help to know where you are located.
