  1. Why I am a better bass angler than you................Because I have "it" and I get "it" without getting spun out on useless minutia....................what "it" is, is up for debate. According to my wife ..................put the letters "S" and "H" in front of that "it" and I am an all timer of being full of "it".
  2. Does he win a prize?
  3. I noticed I got one in the mail a week or so ago.................I hope it's not much thinner than last years, that one is doing a bang up job of leveling a wobbly end table leg. Oh well, if it is I guess I could shim it with the other useless waste of paper I get every month...........AKA Bassmaster magazine.
  4. TW maintains a list of people who ask "when is the next sale" on the various forums, and use it to disqualify you from future sales/promotions.
  5. Strike King and Booyah are very good for the money.
  6. I like the Daiwa Exceler in 7.3:1. I have had one on my flipping/pitching rod (and another matching 7.3:1 on my frog/chatterbait/swimjig rod) for 3 years now, and they been very reliable. They can be had NIB on a popular auction sight for $70 with free shipping. I have 3 Exceler's (the third is 6.3:1 on my topwater/jerkbait/senko rod) and a Lexa 6.3:1 on my squarebill/lipless/mid depth cranking rod , and while not the lightest, most refined reels, they have stood up to my use/abuse. I liked them so much that I sold off all my Citica's, Curado's, and Revo's. I plan on buying one more in 7.3:1 for my finesse jig/light t-rig/bubba shot rod before next season.
  7. Me too..................On a lake I fish 200 days a year on, and catch 1000's of bass per season, do you know how many bass I have caught through the ice in the last 5-6 years on this same lake....................ONE.................and it was by accident LOL. I do however, catch them on various ponds through the ice almost every time I go..............but I have them cornered there.
  8. I like the SK KVD's and the Storm Twitch Sticks
  9. I don't know what the best is, but I have favorites. Day in day out, it's hard to beat a 4" green pumpkin finesse worm. Some of my other favorites are: Yum Sharpshooter's Yum Warning Shot's 3" + 4" Yum Dingers 3" Gulp Leech's and Minnows
  10. My swimjig, chatterbait, spinnerbait rod is the same as my frog rod. This is one rod I don't get fancy with. The 7' MH Berkley Lightning rod shock, with 50lb braid, and a 7.3:1 Daiwa Exceler reel gets it done for me.
  11. 2015 highlights: Didn't break anything expensive Didn't drown Fished a tournament with my 6 year old daughter Joined the 20+ lb club for a tournament bag on my home lake 2016 goals: Don't break anything expensive Don't drown Fish more with my kids
  12. Yes.............no one is paying me to exclusively use their rods, so until that happens I spread it around. As of right now I have custom rods built on MHX and Batson blanks, as well as Berkley, Abu Garcia, Fenwick, BPS, Cabela's and Gander Mtn. rods.
  13. Handguns are fun, but nothing say's "Alright, we're done screwing around here" like a shotgun.
  14. I grabbed a bunch of pit boss's and chigger craws, but that was about it.
  15. Yes, it's discontinued, as are the slop craw and wide load.
  16. I also use the spike-it markers and dip, and megastrike. Like A-Jay, I have avoided JJ's because of the handling issues I have heard about. I am clumsy and sloppy, so I don' think it's for me.
  17. Tackle warehouse gift card, gander mountain gift cards, and a ton of 22lr ammo.
  18. I was................WAS....a big fan of the Devil spear Jr. (I never liked the large one), especially on a wobbling (biffle type head) football jig. Then I ran out, substituted the small Pit Boss's for them (which I already carry around and use as a flipping bait) and kept on catching fish. So, to keep things simple, I won't be buying anymore.
  19. I now make my own, and they are as good, and more importantly, as productive as any store bought baits I have ever used, for a fraction of the cost of major brand baits.
  20. I wish gas was $12 a gallon..............at least from May-Sept. Might keep the wake boarders and jet ski idiots at bay.
  21. I have never not seen my home lake not freeze. One year the middle of the lake stayed open, but we had safe ice on the north and south ends..........I do know this, bass fishing seems to be better in the years that we have had mild winters with late freeze ups and early ice outs, and not much snow on the ice when it's here. I have several theory's: #1 more feeding goes on in mild winters, which "thins" baitfish populations, in turn making more catchable bass in spring/summer/fall the preceding year after a mild. They are all not "fat and happy" during the open water season, and easier to catch. #2 Less snow on the ice leads to healthier weeds, and a better starting point in the spring to providing the cover that bass hold and feed in.
  22. My "go-to" colors for the different type of crankbaits are different. I can't explain why, but it's been through a long trial and error process. For squarebills I like: Bluegill, orange craw, chart./black back, and chart. sexy shad Lipless: Jap. Shad, red craw, and albino craw Mid and deep diving cranks: Chart. Sexy Shad, Chart. belly craw, Sexy Ghost minnow, and rootbeer.
  23. Get the bigger motor if you can swing it. It's the one thing I wish I would have done when I bought my Tracker PT170 new 10 years ago. Being new to boats, I didn't know any better and just went with the 25hp 4-stroke offered in the base package. And while the motor has been very reliable, and pushes the boat around fine when I am by myself, adding a 2nd person and there gear makes it a dog.
  24. They are my favorite "beaver" style flipping bait, for many reasons. Besides being reasonably priced, they catch fish as good if not better than any of the other baits of this style that I have used in the past.
