  1. I am RH and use nothing but LH casting reels. As a kid I grew up fishng with spinning reels with LH retreive, my first few baitcasters were RH and I was never comfortable with them and have been using LH reels ever since. I always think about trying RH reels again, but never do.
  2. No..............TW has had that bait for years....they bumped it to the "new" section for obvious reasons.
  3. A buddy I fish with a few times a year fro fun, as well as a few local tournaments bought one a few years ago. He does not fish a ton, nor is he abusive with his stuff. The thing litteraly came apart in his hands last summer in an evening tournament we fished. Rotor started to bind and when he put a little pressure on the handle to turn it, something snapped inside and pushed the the non handle side plate right off. I saw it wit my own eyes. I have never even seen a cheap Zebco 202 fall apart that badly. I would say in the time he ownd the reel he had a total of 20 times on the water with it. And in an odd twist, he bought that Wave spin reel to replace a Pflueger President that I sold him used. A reel I had 3-4 years of hard use with, a reel he used for a year or two, and was only replacing it because the reel was soo boat rashed up it was pretty ugly...but still worked like new.
  4. I don't even care anymore........between this, the Patriots, all the crap in collage ball, the Bills sucking for like.........well ever. Sundays in the fall on the lake rock.
  5. I personaly only use 50lb braid on my flipping stick, and frog rod. For a more multi purpose rod like what you seem to be wanting to do, I use 30lb braid. When I use fluoro, it would be as a leader and it is usually 17lb
  6. FWIW I had TERRIBLE hook up ratio with any kind of shaky head with a screw lock, or spring type keeper, once I switched to a barbed keeper like on the Bite Me, or Strike King heads it has not been an issue.
  7. http://www.ffo-tackl...ctDirectory.cfm Type "power craw" in the serach, several come up and are in stock, all 4" though. IDK if that helps.
  8. Depends on who made the rod, a St Croix ML is little over powered, while a Kistler or BPS ML are pretty whimpy, and Fenwicks and Berkleys are some where inbetween. Those are the brands I have owned ML powered rods in, so thats my .02 All of mine have been spinning rods, never owned a ML casting rod, I have tossed plenty of 3" and 4" weightless or wacky jig senkos on them. As well as small 1/8oz spinner baits and in line spinners, small cranks, etc.....I wouldn't use one for burning a 3/8 oz bait over grass, or anything like that.
  9. You think some place is going to magicly have them for $.99 a bag? Tackle warehouse has them for $3.99 which is a pretty resonable.
  10. What do you want for it? I have a Revo S-L I would be willing to part with, plus some cash to make up the diff.
  11. I just bought a 6'6" M spinning Berkley Lightning Rod Shock and a Shimano Sonora (the orange one) at Wal Mart for a back up/toss in the truck pond hopping rod. The whole set up cost me $90. I was extremely surprised how light the Lightning rod is, it is lighter than my St Croix 6'8" M power XF Mojo.
  12. Same here, I had an Curado B back in the late 90's, it was the first LP baitcaster I ever had, up to that point I had only used round Abu Garcia reels. It gave me fits, was rough from about the 2nd time I used it, the store took it back, but the new one was just as bad and was sent back to Shimano 2 other times the first season. I gave up on it......and Shimano untill the D series came out. In that time I used just about every thing else, never had problems with anything made by Quantum, Daiwa, Pflueger, or Abu. The only other reels that have been BPS branded reels.............and......another Shimano, my Citica E got a little rough last year, but they fixed it.
  13. For me the fun of fishing is catching fish. Anything I can buy that will help me catch more and bigger fish I buy, if I can afford it. If I can't afford it I go with out, but I don't take some ignorant, self-rightous stance , that because I can't afford, or don't understand the latest technology that it is some way way "not fair" or "un-sporting". What a load of crap.
  14. Keep it...heat and fat people (me) don't like each other.
  15. I would like to know too. Is that your reel John? The damage on the spool almost looks like something corrosive got on the metal and ate it away.
  16. Come crank with me this summer, I'll have you at least thinking about using braid. LOL. I got Noel converted....and you know how he loves his Vanish.
  17. ^^^ this^^^
  18. Dirty water...............water temps 58-60 , beat the bank, and/or the shallowest cover you can find with squarebills, spinnerbaits etc...., multiple cast's from multiple angles on the same cover. Fish a stretch that way and if you don't get bit turn around and flip that same cover with a jig or beaver.
  19. Well if ge ever comes to WNY, give him my phone number LOL.
  20. Exactly..........., besides when we are not partners, he routinly hands it to me at the scales, so I got to get him any way I can......and I know he lurks here. HAHAHAHA
  21. Nothing.........I wear Shimano underware when it comes to casting reels, but have and use Quantum, Abu, and Daiwa products. I have 2 Quantum Accurist PT casting reels, that I will not replace with ANY other reels, except for maybe a newer Accurist with the 7:1 ratio. I will take Quantums over Revo's any day. I have never owned there rods, or spinning reels, so I can't comment on those, but the new Accurist PT spinning reel looks mighty tempting to me.
  22. Couldn't have said it better.........or with less tact.........myself LOL.
  23. I use that same 7'10" LTB "magnum cranker" and agree, it's the finest deep diving rod I have owned. I often have to reign in my casts with it. That long rod with the long casting ability, combined with the small diameter braid insures I get the baits down where I want them.
