  1. First of all, the soft plastic baits you have are fine, they will work any where there are bass. Your color selection is fine too. Walk the pond fan casting with your spinnerbait, for a pond a 1/4 or 3/8 oz Chartreuse and white, tandem blade bait will be just fine. If they don't bite that, take those watermelon/red dingers, rig them weightless texas rig with a 2/0-3/0 EWG hook, if it's stained/dirty use your black ones. cast them next to any cover the pond has and let them sink. If you want to add something new, maybe get a top water bait like a Pop-R, crankbaits/jigs/c-rigs/drop shotting are all good techniques, but you don't need to bother with those right now, you should worry about pond fishing 101 first. If you can't get bit on that stuff, that pond stinks, find new water. Seriously, throwing a sporting goods store worth of tackle in the water won't make fish appear.
  2. I bought some and jave played with them when I went out the other day. They do suspend great, much better in 38-40 water than any other jerkbait I have had (Xraps, Husky jerks, suspending thunder sticks, etc...) I was pleased with them.
  3. Cruising shallow water bass/panfish = go find other fish to catch. In my expierance, fish just up shallow swimming around and hanging out are not feeding and next to impossable to catch. I have had them spook away just from the shadow of the line. There are a few tricks to catching them, but sadly they don't even work very well....for me.
  4. The 03' is basicly the US version of the K98. Your not a Kraut reenactor are you? On top of being a Raiders fan LMAO
  5. I could live with just green pumpkin, so I guess it's my favorite.
  6. When junk is out, every one look straight ahead, keep your mouth shut, and keep your hands to yourself.
  7. Depends. I wouldn't dream of deep cranking anymore with anything less than a rod that is specificly designed to deep crank.
  8. I use fluoro for leaders only. Braid as my mainline. I can't stand the way fluoro handles on spinning reels. I use it when I want abbrasion resistance, less line visability, and for all drop shotting.
  9. I use spit, every knot, every time, reguardless of line.
  10. Flipping.............I don't care, the line is in between my fingers, I only engage the reel to pull out more line. Pitching and or skipping, 2 brakes on, spool loose.
  11. It's against International law to put a Shimano reel on an Abu Garcia rod.
  12. I have a 12v 30lb hand control Minn Kota. It moved it around really good. I put it on the front and pull the boat, rather than trying to push it. I have not used it in 2 years or so, I hope the next time I do I haven't been so spoiled by the 70lb thrust motor on my aluminum boat that I feel the need to upgrade LOL.
  13. You can have your Ar-15's, Ak type rifles, anything made by H&K,and double action semi auto handguns. I'll keep my M1 Garands, M1 carbines, M1903 Springfields, and my GI M1911A1's.
  14. I have the 7'11 H/MF "Flipping" rod. I have no issued with it. I actually like it better than the telescopic 7'6" MH/MF Legend tournament I had. Both were/are tip heavy, but the Mojo balances nicely with the reel I use for flipping, the LT did not. I hope to add the 7'6" Mojo version of that LT some day, my buddy has one and even that floats and feels better in my hand than that LT.
  15. No, it's not Pymatuning. It's a small lake in WNY.
  16. One of the things I love most about my other "hobby" is the coke in the old bottles, I will toss my new "no pop" rule aside for that.
  17. On all the DT Fat 3's I bought with sure sets, I changed them out with a #2 Mustad KVD on the front, and a #4 on the back. They run just fine.
  18. An above normal warm week to 10 days is not going to ignite a bedding frenzy here, it will accelerate the transition from late winter to prespawn patterns, but unless it stays like this for the next 6 weeks, most everything will be normal, to slightly early. I don't imagine we'll be fishing post spawn patterns on Easter LOL. I got my boat in the water today, water temps here are still in the mid to upper 30's, low 40's in protected dark bottom area's, other than a few crappies, bluegills and small bass, nothing much happining yet. Heck, the last of the ice just melted yesterday. I am more concerned about the lack of water, the lake is low, not much snow melt this year, and the idiot who runs the gate on the dam, felt it nessecary to keep them open all winter to keep the lake in a semi drawn down state, they are still letting water out today. IDK what they are thinking.
  19. My gut, every one on my fathers side, man or women has it, my sister did too before she died.
  20. I think I may have been to two of there classics since that store opened, once I made a special trip for, the other time to pick up my boat when I bought it, nothing to write home about then either. IDK if it's an individual store thing, or not. I love the BPS in Orlando LOL.
  21. I sold my 101D after I bought a 51E, and I now have two 51E's. Take that how ever you want. I still have two 201D's a Citica, and Curado DPV, the DPV is not going any where, at least not till I can find a smoking deal on a Chronarch 201E5. I could give up the Citica D for an E (or even a new G) and not lose any sleep over it.
  22. I use the same rod that I use for swim jigs, and spinnerbaits, a 7' MH/fast.
  23. I am going to throw mine on a 7' MH Berkley Lightning Rod Shock that I picked up for a pond rod. I am have the Picasso rig, that has a plastic head, and will be using 1/8th up to, but no more than 1/4 oz baits. Even at 5 1/4 oz baits that's just a hair more than 1.25 oz, which is what that rod is rated for. I got a Quantum Accurist AC501 PT spooled with 50lb braid on it. I thought about using my 7' MH/F Avid or Leg. Tour. But those rods are too usefull doing other things for me, but i am sure they would be fine.
  24. Nothing for me, I don't drive all the way out to our regional BPS very much. I'll stop if we are in the area, but we were not this year.
  25. Happens. I came in dead last once with 1 fish one night at our local lakes Thursday evening tournament. This was on my "home" lake. In all reality, I don't care if I come in last. I don't fish for points in a club, I fish for cash. Anything short of a money spot is "last place". Now I go out and fish for fish that I think can win, if I fall flat on my face, so be it.
