So far so good. And today I figured out how much money I am saving by NOT dipping anymore..........I can't beleive how much I have spent on that crap.

When I think of SNL and could only pick one................it's the Patrick Swayze/Chris Farley chipindales bit..........I also really liked a lot of Phil Hartman's stuff when he was on, and just about any thing with Will Ferrell was funny. Of this seasons stuff the best so far have been the "e-meth" commercial, and the parody song of what does the fox say, called "what does my girl say".

Too subjective.....I have fished with guys who use $400 rods who can't feel things that I can feel with $75 rods. Does that make his $400 rods junk? No, it means he dosen't have a clue, and no ammount of money spent on rods is going to give him one. Asking some one which rod is more sensitve, is like asking who's wife/girlfriend is hotter..........no one wins this debate.

I hate dragging things around behind the boat. It dosen't matter if it's a tube, a drop shot, a c-rig, a football jig, etc......I HATE IT..................but I have caught lots of fish doing it, but it is the only thing I actually think I can't stand doing.

Well tomorrow afternoon will be a week. The daily reports will stop now. So far so good. I'd love to say I feel 100 times better............but just my luck I get a freaking cold that's been getting worse the last two days. I couldn't have picked a better time to stop though...........between fishing seasons, slow and stress free at work, and now sick (which would have curbed it anyways). God I hope I can make it stick for good this time.

Well, today all they had to do was breath and I was ready to go..............it didn't even get to the speaking part. LMAO

Wish I could, we're in that weird time frame when I have put my boat away for the winter, yet there's no safe ice to walk on yet. It's actually one of the reasons I chose to do this now..... Fishing is and was a major trigger for putting a dip in, and I wanted the first couple tough weeks behind me by the time I fished again.

Ughhhhhh, the first day back at work since I stopped, and it's way more brutal than I thought. I want to punch everyone in the face...... Deep breath time. I will not give up or give in... But this day can end anytime now.

The end of day four is driving me nuts, thanks to the so called football team from Buffalo...........but I am staying strong and have the will to not cave.

Reminds me of the last black eye I got...............was about 2005-2006. We just spent a long afternoon in the field freeing Europe from the Nazi's, and were assembled at Denny's post war for dinner..............just like 1944 LOL. Some one said something, not even romotely funny, yet I begain to laugh with great vigor.............now I don't know if was the 10 hours in the July heat in wool clothes with a steel pot on my head, or the Evan Williams I had in my canteen that I was sipping on all day insted of water.............but I passed out from laughing, and hit the floor so hard it gave me a black eye. To this day, when ever I go to the Dennys in Geneseo NY...........with or without the reenacting group, there is still a waitress who works there, that was there that day who asks me if I need a pillow.

I let it sit on the boat deck for a while first just to dry out, but yes, then they go right back into the bag they came from.

I have gotten some great deals right here on BR..................the two that come to mind right away are the Curado 51E I got from webertime for $100, and a Gen1 LH Revo STX from Shane J for $60.

Strike King...............they work, they come in all the colors I need, and are cheaper than Spros. Booyahs are growing on me too.

I have 6 spinning, and 8 casting rods from Abu Garcia (Vengeance, Vendetta's, and Veritas's) , and 2 Berkley casting rods (Lightning rod Shocks). My spinning reels are a mix of Abu. and Pflueger. My casting reels are a mix of Abu, and Shimano.

If you like the Carbonlites stay with them. I like the Abu rods in that price range, but I have owned both Shimano and St Croixs too............it's all decent stuff, and boils down to personal preference.

Start of day 3, and I feel 100 times better than I did yesterday, I slept like a baby last night too. I still have that "foggy" feeling in my head, but the headache is gone. So far I am keeping the cravings at bay by keeping busy, and chewing gum. My house hasn't been this clean in years LOL.

Almost 2 full days, and I am hanging in there. My head feels like it weighs a 1000 lbs, and I am in a fog, but I will make it. I refuse to regress.

dipping that is. Flushed it all down the toilet tonight on my own accord. It's time. Tough days ahead, but I am sick of it. I'll keep a running progress report of how it's going, and hopefully it will help me, and inspire others. It's been over 3 years since I have gone for any length of time without it. I have had semi-successful "quits" before, but foolishly regressed, some after very long tperiods of a couple years off the stuff. I can't be doing that anymore.

When I fish a tournament with someone and we use there boat instead of mine, I try to do the following: Launch and retrieve the boat throw the boater some gas money............the amount depends, and if were going out of town to another lake, I give him some gas money for the truck too. Pay 1/2 the entry fee Try not to bring too much stuff, but I usually fail in this area LOL That is for team type open tournaments............the only kind I fish. And I expect the same in reverse if we use my boat. Now if were out fun fishing, and I invite you to join me............it's free, your a guest, and I am going fishing anyways, no need to pay me.
