  1. I never entended for the 1 month mark to be Christmas day, but it will be.
  2. If it's soft plastic, I will drop shot it. Some of my best producing drop shot baits are not thought of as "drop shot" baits.
  3. I won't get brand specific, but I'll echo what most every one else said. 7' MH will be a pretty versatile stick, and would be my choice if I could only have 1 casting rod. It will do a lot of things great, and some just "ok"....but the things it does great far out weight the " just ok"
  4. I'm not going to argue with you, if you think it matters, than you think it matters. I just don't. Merry Christmas.
  5. My goal every year is to make it to the end of the season alive, with a working boat, and minimal gear lost or broken... ..... Sooooo..... VICTORY!!!!... I let the fishing take care of itself.
  6. Lol...... You silly fool. Yeah because Shimano has never done away with a popular, proven reel before.
  7. And not a lot more money has to be spent to gain this feel over that of an Ugly Stick. I have no problems feeling the difference between fish or weeds on $50/$80/$100 Abu Vengeance's/Vendetta's/Veritas's......
  8. Have we spent that much time in a boat together??? HAHAHA
  9. That's funny right there................and you think it was because of his color choice....ROTFLMAO
  10. Couldn't have said it better myself....................infact I know I couldn't, because I would have probably said.............." LOL at you fools who think a custom and or pretty paint job matter"....but thats just me.
  11. Megastrike attractant, Rage tail grubs, and Shimano Curado 51E's to name a few.
  12. Go get your CDL class A with tank endorsment, and I know you can turn a wrench. Lots of fun jobs down this way for "someone" with those qualifications. We are only 1/2 hour south of you.
  13. I ripped one a few years ago on my Tracker trailer, and called the dealer to order a new one, and they sent me pair of them....FREE. Call your Triton dealer, I'm sure they will take care of you.
  14. My offseason checklist: Sell off stuff I don't want/use..........................done Restock my favorites..................never ending Clean/lube reels.................a couple done, a bunch more to go. New bunk boards for the trails................carpet/boards bought, need to cut boards to length and stable carbet on yet. New water pump impeller for outboard.............already have an appt. for early March with the local marina New prop..................I'll order it after the holidays shallow water anchor........... ????? I want one, badly, but I am sooooo not thrilled with the cost. I talk myself into and out of it on a daily basis.
  15. The jerkbait rod in the Mojo line is graphite, and a fast action. I owned it, as well as the jerkbait rod in the Legend Tournament line....both were/are 6'6" M/F. They were fine rods for jerkbaits. And had I not gotten bored with St Croix, I would probably still have them.
  16. What he said..................I'll just fish stock colors, I am too cheap and lazy to send a bunch of stuff off to get painted anyways.
  17. Should have asked before you bought it. But now that you have it, you'll have to make it work, if your going to frog with it, use braid, keep your drag locked down tight, and your going to have to swing hard to compensate for the rod loading up to drive the hooks in. IMHO....M power/action rods in general (not just the ugly stick) are not optimal for most frogging and jig work.
  18. I do what I always have wanted to do, and other than a few frustrating days a year, I have no complaints. I have been at my current job for 20 years, so I get a lot of freedom to do what I want, get a lot of the easy jobs with the newest and best equipment, and come and go as I pretty much please............BUT I don't abuse it. I am there when I am needed, I always volunteer to come in early/late or on weekends, and I don't act like I am un-replaceable..........thats a sure fire way for an older, well paid, slow moving, fat guy like myself to get replaced with a younger cheaper option.
  19. What ever one I just caught a fish on last. I go through cycles with these things. For a long time it was Rapala Husky Jerks, then it was X-raps, then a few years ago when the Luck-e-strike Clunn baits came out it was those, then the Xcailiber EEratic shads, now I am on the SK KVD's....next spring it will probably be something else...........The perfect 10 Rouges are looking pretty tempting to me.
  20. That would be a nice boat to have for the aluminum boat tournaments............too bad you still don't have it
  21. I am glad you said it and not me............although it does seem like something I'd post. LMAO
  22. I had (still have) an 8' Bass raider that I bought new in 2003, and I also have a 2006, Bass Tracker Pt170 that I bought new........in 2006. Only two boats I have ever owned. Prior to that I was stuck on the bank, or I rented 14" V-hull boats with 5.5hp johnsons from the local boat livery.
  23. I am going to order some on my next TW spree. I like the price, and I like that Ayu and Golden shiner color.
  24. Shimano, they are pretty good. Buy one.................or not, I really don't care.
  25. No.........and I'm not familiar with what your refering to.
