  1. I have a Tracker. It's been good to me, and gets the crap beat out of it, BUT, my next boat (hopefully in a few years) will be a Ranger or Crestliner.
  2. I have had my 51e's on multiple rods over the years. Right now they are going on Fenwick Elite tech smallmouth rods, I have not fished them together yet, but FWIW, they look and feel fantastic on those rods in my living room.. Lol.
  3. I take it out of the box, put line on it, and use it. After a little use I will lightly lube the spool bearings and worm gear.
  4. Rage tail grub, paca craws or grass pig for me.
  5. If I am targeting them specifically, seems like a 4" senko on a wacky jig head always gets me a few.
  6. Fish that actually feel steel... I land probably 75%-80%. All blow ups combined.. Less than 50%. I have never had a day where 100% of bites on a frog have made it to the boat, but I have had multiple days where I get lots of blow ups and connect on few. I frog fish a lot more open water than a lot of people and that's where my high percentage hook ups are.... Get into slop and mats and it goes way down.
  7. Gamakatsu, VMC, and Mustad. Not a fan of Owners and Trokars.
  8. Let me tell you how to make a rock bass dizzy.....oh wait....get your tampon first and let me know when your ready.
  9. Buying tackle and ice fishng, we are also working way more this winter than in the past....I like it, but I don't LOL.
  10. Wnybassman has taught me a few things, and I have shown him a few. It works both ways.
  11. Truck driver, farmer. But on the weekends I sell drugs and pimp out the the old lady for extra cash.
  12. Every tournament/orginization I have ever fished in or with has had a no culling of dead fish rule. It's also a rule in the local tournaments I run as well. Some trails will even hit you with a penelty if the fish is alive but not fit for release.
  13. Also, to make it more interesting.............there is no "standard" amongst the rod companies. What some call a medium power , others might call a MH, and some call a fast what others would call an XF. About the only "rule of thumb" is there is none.
  14. It's fairly common around here. Some days I will catch multiple fish with the blotches. AFIAK no one knows what causes it, or what it means, but it is generally said that fish with these markings come from very healthy bodies of water.
  15. You don't work them, they work for you..................................wait, that's something else.
  16. I like to buck the trends. A few years ago when Carrot Stix were the only rods worth having, I went with Kistlers. Then when the Veritas was the next great thing I went with Mojo's. Now that the *** rods are the 2nd coming, I go with the Veritas. Give it 6 months and the kids will be on to the next best rod of all time.
  17. I use braid, it floats. I like 20 or 30 lb for things like poppers and spooks. 30 or 50 (with a MH or H rod) for frogs and buzzbaits.
  18. I have caught them the day the ice has left the lake drop shotting deep grass lines......if they are not biting like this for me..............I go perch or crappie fishing LOL.
  19. It will be fine..........bigger and heavier than it needs to be, but it will be fine. I prefer the 6930 size.
  20. For me, either casting or spinning in something less than 7' but at least 6'6", medium power and a fast or XF action.
  21. Abu Veritas Winch $99....they have a 7' M, and 7'6" MH. I have had 7'9, and 7'10" MH cranking rods from other brands, and there is little to no difference in casting distance between the 7'6" and the 7'10".
  22. Junk fishing.
  23. Tie direct for me
  24. I use Seaguar Red Label. Cheap, effective, and I have had zero issues with it.
