  1. Both, and both ways texas rigged too.
  2. Good for you. I also quit, but back in Nov....it was right around thanksgiving. The 26th I think..
  3. My oldest daughter is nine, we gave her one when she was 8. But it was just an old flip phone of mine that we re-activated. The novalty of it wore off in about a week, and back in the drawer it went.
  4. Grass, docks, and lay downs..... In no particular order.
  5. I liked the idea of the removable pole, I go in some tight spots where a regular power pole sticking up when it's folded would not allow me to fit and access these spots. That's why when it's time, it's got to be a talon with the tilt down bracket now.
  6. No...but if you find some let me know too, I have been looking as well. Untill then I have some 4" Berkley power grubs in Black/blue flake. But I like the Fat albert better.........and truth be told the rage tail grub is my fav...I wish they made it in black/blue.
  7. Enough beating around the bush big fella...........if you want pictures of the thunder jugs just ask. And yeah...I think If I go with a powered shallow anchor it will be the 8' Talon, untill then it will be a manual operated stake. That micro anchor seems like it's not going to work for me.
  8. Abu Veritas Winch. 7' M/Mod. Was a good rod at $99..........a steal at $79, which is the new price.
  9. I have the same Minn Kota as talon man...but the portable version (has a carry handle and quick connect clips) as I don't want/need to have the charger on the boat while it's on the water. Works great, even after a 10-12 hour day on the water, by the next morning the TM batts. are ready to go again.
  10. Nope.....not needed, but if you can afford it, buy what makes you happy. There is room for all of us.
  11. Tracker PT170 with a 25hp 4 stroke, I also have 3 batteries and run a 24v 70lb MK Maxxum. Boat/motor/trailer weigh 1800lbs, so minus the trailer it's close to the 1500lb limit.
  12. My boat is right on the upper limit of the weight range for this, now I am not so sure about it..........IDK $700 for the stake and motor is a little steep, the clamp on bracket is more to add on yet, and so is the battery pack if you want to run it with that, I am thinking a couple 10' fiberglass stakes from Grainger, and some farm shop fabricated brackets are looking more attractive all the time.
  13. ????? .......You been drinking tonight ?
  14. Strike King KVD 1.5 square bill......someone had to say it.
  15. Broken record time...............I use the Alberto. Easy to tie, strong, and don't hang in the guides. I use it for ALL my leaders.
  16. most of the time
  17. I am so fed up with it, I walked outside, raised my voice and waved a stick menacingly at the neighbors dog.
  18. Let's just say that I am not to be left alone with booze on the ice.
  19. We have two idiots at work that I have taken to calling.. "Busey and the unit ". One looks and acts like Gary Busey, the other is......quite the lady's man, in his own mind at least. Put the two of them together and hilarity ensues. Busey and the unit has become a popular show around here.
  20. Like I said it's abrasion resistance was terrible...normal braid is not that great, but it's way better than the Spider Wire Flourobraid. I used it both with and with out a fluoro leader. I also didn't find that it's "siniking" properties did anything for me. It still bowed in the wind like regular braid, it didn't get cranks any deeper any faster than regular braid of the same diameter, and touch it to ANYTHING other than water and/or air and it cut like silk. I run plain jane, boring old 20lb Power Pro on my cranking rod, and can crank quite a few nasty peices of cover with it before having to retie, the flourobraid would break off often on the first cast and contact with the same stuff.
  21. Find new water.
  22. Same as always.... Don't drown, don't break anything expensive, and get my kids out as much as I can. The fishing takes care of itself.
  23. I am a fan of braid, but that's the worst braid I personally have ever used. Braid is not noted for its abrasion resistance, but that line takes it to new levels of fragility. I have had a harder time destroying cob webs.
  24. I replaced all my Mojos with Veritas's. It was an upgrade. And at the new $80 price.... A no brainer.
  25. FWIW.... I can't stand people who call there wives, girlfriends, etc.... Their "old lady ". It's garbage.
