  1. I don't know what BASS, FLW, or anyone else does, but in the local tournaments I run, or someone else runs that I fish in, a dead fish becomes property of the angler who caught it. He may do with it what he wishes...... EXCEPT.... toss it back in the lake, or dispose of it at the tournament site. I have weighed a few dead ones in over the years, I have a buddy who takes mine to bait traps with.
  2. I have one, and one only. It's only uses are for deep diving cranks, and slow rolling lip-less cranks in cold water.
  3. I have or have had both the St Croix Rage, and the Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth. My Rage was the 7'1" MH/F and I have the Fenwick in two different rods, the 6'9" M/XF and the 6'9" MH/F. Of all three rods the 6'9" MH/F would be the closet to a "GP" "Do-all" type rod, with the 7'1" MH/F Rage the next best........of the three . The 6'9" M/XF casting Fenwick is more of a niche rod (it's excellent for top waters and jerkbaits) but not really all-purpose IMHO.
  4. Or the reverse...........I am fishing one color, catching fish, the guy in the back switches to my color, still nothing, I switch to his color and catch fish, guy in the back gets ticked, and I proclaim victory with my highly tuned skill set.
  5. You can catch fish anytime, anywhere, with a havoc pit boss, and a yum dinger. If your new to plastics start with those in a color that looks good to you.
  6. Depends on the generation. I had a full cork grip 1st gen. LTB 7' M/F "Teaser" that balanced great with a Curado 51E, and a 1st gen. full cork grip 6'6" M/F "Jerkbait" that balanced great with a 51E, the split grip 2nd gen rods I had ......not so much, and even with a slightly heavier reel like a Citica 201E they still felt tip heavy. I have not had any current LTB's.
  7. Strike King S11's about $40. Worlds better than the $20 SK's or Berkley's.
  8. Day in day out it's hard to beat a stick/senko type bait. 1001 ways to fish them.
  9. No, that would be stupid. If you can't deal with snags, don't fish cranks.
  10. It does not matter to me.
  11. I used to be keep in them all in there original bags guy, but I grew tired of that. This year they are all sorted into Plano boxes, by type/size/etc.
  12. It would be easier to tell you how a don't rig and/or use them, and that is.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................you get the picture
  13. Hollow Body 90% of the time Solid body 10% of the time Favorites: Hollow- Booyah Pad Crasher, Strike King Sexy Frog Solid - Stanley Ribbit, Sizmic Toad
  14. Yup..............It's either regular crocs, croc flip flops, or my work boots, I have not worn sneakers fishing in 20 years probably.
  15. PM me the details bud.
  16. Frogs, whacky rigged stick baits and/or finesse worms, and swim jigs.
  17. I have ZERO tolerance for boat launch idiots. I am not talking about the cottage owners who launch there boat once a year, or an old man launching his fishing boat and takes all day, that happens. It's the morons who tie off on the ramp, to be exact the idiots who floats around in front of the ramp waiting to tie off on the ramp, while some one else is loading, instead of docking and getting the trailer. I don't know how many times I have had words with these fools. I dock or beach go get my trailer while they are floating around like morons, and many MANY times have backed my trailer down the ramp as they are trying to tie off on it. It gets them in a terrible uproar, but I win every time.
  18. I can only speak for the rod, but I prefer the 7' MH Veritas for general frogging. If super thick cover is your game you might want a heavy powered rod, I use my 7'6" H vendetta flipping stick for dragging frogs across mats. The 7'H is just too short and stiff for my liking for that kind of work.
  19. On a hook.
  20. Good move.
  21. The rods and reels I use for frogging pull double and triple duty.
  22. I fished for 2 or so hours each of the last two nights, one pre-cold front in 80 degree air temps, one post cold front in 50 degree temps with a stiff north wind.........guess which one was better LOL........last night. A dozen keepers in 2.5 hours, with one over four lbs, half a dozen over three lbs, and the rest all solid 2.5's or so.............Tonight, also out for 2.5 hours or so, numbers went down...only caught 4, but all of them were over 4lbs.
  23. Tip #1...........if this is how you fish tournaments....Please PLEASE enter tournaments I fish in.
  24. Honestly..................The same way I would with a single hook. I have never been stuck by a bass. Largemouth, most of the time, I just reach over the side of the boat an lip them, or swing them in, and grab them by the lip...if any largemouht is ever going to eventually stick me, it's going to be a 2lber that thinks he's a smallie. AlLL smallmouth, because they are crazy, get the net, treble hooks or not, but then once in the net I just grab them by the lip. Now pike...............they have stuck me, more times then I can count. Not a season has gone by the last 5-6 years where I have not taken a treble past the barb several times during the coarse from one of them.
