  1. With tracks, the accessory options are wide open. I got a really great cup holder that doubles as a used lure holder, probably my most used addition to my kayak last year and it was cheap (<$20). Mine is the Scotty 311, but there are many other brands and variations. That lip around the edge is super useful though if you're like me and like to hang lures to dry out prior to repacking them. I throw used plastics in the bottom, sit my water bottle on those, and hang lures on the edge. I know you don't want to go electronic, but just hypothetically 😎... the switchblade transducer mount would work great on that canoe if your track is on the edge which it looks like there is space for. Then you could throw even a minimal unit on there to check depth and water temp if nothing else. Enjoy your new setup, I know you'll have a ton of fun in it and catch thousands of fish next year that I'll be drooling over!
  2. Aeropress is fun. I don't use it often, but it makes a VERY smooth cup if done correctly. If you want to really go down a rabbit hole, look at the aeropress competitions online and all the different very specific recipes people use. I did prefer the upside down method to the normal one, and also did think it mattered to get the water temp just right for the best flavor. You can see why I don't do it much, it's like a science project. But very tasty.
  3. Keep an eye out for used stuff as well. Or open box, unused. I've had decent luck on eBay, if you go with a highly rated seller it should be fine. Or buy through the yard sale on this site. A good quality reel can be cleaned up/repaired if needed in many cases.
  4. If you are just looking for a quality, small frame reel, like a black max alternative check out the daiwa cc80. I have normal man hands and feel like the feel like it's a small reel. You can probably palm one at a local store just check inventory online.
  5. You didn't try the mata? Remind me to show you one when you come to NC. Pretty cool.
  6. Fish would jump into the kayak. Obviously. Probably because of the Cologne and stripes combo
  7. Some cool lighting. I'm thinking color adjustable LED rope lighting around the floor or fence. Definitely a good anchor system and push pole. I've had to get out and push a pontoon numerous times. Pole is preferred!
  8. He sells skirts separately I believe if you want to stock up. Send him an email if you have questions he's great to work with.
  9. Let us know! I think Abu rods are a touch soft sometimes but MH on spinning isn't my first or second choice. That'd be a really nice rod to let a coangler borrow who isn't comfortable with casting gear so it can serve a purpose if you want to use it that way.

No dogs in area unless you count coyote. I'll probably just call the WRC and see if they'll take care of it. Found more damage today that was brand new. Aggravating.

They don't have a dam, I can't figure out where they're living. I'm going to have to follow feeder creeks to see if I find anything. I chatted with neighbor farm and they practically begged me to shoot them so it sounds like I've got community support. Guess it's time for an adventure.
  12. I'd throw and black and blue grass jig and hit the water. If the water isn't clear the bass see more contrast then detail and I think color is overrated. Profile matters more in that setup. If you shop like me.. get the grass jig and shot caller in several sizes and colors and then hit the water. Don't over think it. If I get a favorite, a tree fish eats it very fast.
  13. Fresh roasted beans is more important to me than brand. I like fresh roasted within 2 weeks of roast date. I use a burr grinder and my preferred brewing method is pour over but I normally use a pot for speed, but still grind fresh for that too. Counter culture is definitely my favorite big brand! I've been to their cupping event, pretty cool.

Yikes. They started on trees that size but abandoned them on my land. They generally seem to like 3-6" stuff here but are eating on a couple larger ones

Yes I think I’m legally free to handle as needed. I guess I can do the wrc thing, I’m more inclined to handle my stuff on my own than call for help. Regarding something quieter, it’s possible but expensive. I’m not worried about noise, and it’s a wooded area so it’ll be in shotgun range. They’re actively working on a big tree. Wonder if I can spray something to get them to leave the area.

My new house is by the lake, and with it came some beaver activity. I’m not a fan of them killing my trees. Several have healed, but several have fallen. Anyway, anyone have experience eradicating them by any means necessary? I’m open minded and creative. And have a shotgun of course.
  17. Quick shout out. Just received my order, awesome as usual! Love the blemished option as well, great way to try out random new things. I can’t wait to try some of these out, hopefully this weekend! I’m especially excited to try out my new custom Spinnerbait. great work @Siebert Outdoors, hope the sale is going great and merry Christmas early to ya! So many options it’d be hard to know where to start. What type of jig fishing do you like? Are you fishing wood, grass, etc? Swimming it or soaking it? I’d say just get a bunch of stuff to try lol. I like swim jigs and brush jigs and sniper finesse jigs. Colors all work at the right time and place. Bait monkey says just try a lot. 😎He has good sampler deals too if you have trouble deciding.
  18. Never heard of it, but I’m always down to try something new!
  19. All our lakes have great bass in my opinion. Just gotta figure out what’s on the menu and where the meal is happening.
  20. Trilene xl casts really well and is smooth. Big game always on shelf. Also trying bps excel, got a great deal so it’s on shelf imagine that.
  21. Our winter in nc was this week. Not sure if spring will be here to stay next week or not. So far this week since I was too cold to fish, I just bought a bunch of stuff on sale. If it comes in in time, I will spend the rest of my winter putting line on my new rods and organizing tackle. If we get a really bad winter defined as more than three weeks of below freezing temps than I may take apart some reels and try to clean them. Most of my reels are cheap and I just replace them though.
  22. I keep a Gerber dime on my keys. Inexpensive and has held up well. Every time I find a good sale I get another in case I lose it in security somewhere. I use this tool almost daily for something it seems, love the bottle opener and package opener specifically in such a small tool.
  23. I’ve got several of these inbound. Too good of a deal to pass up, they were 50% plus the 20%. Not sure my reel purchases are keeping up with rod purchases now lol
  24. I got a bottle of basil Hayden dark rye. Didn't realize it had port in the blend somehow. Very different. Sweet. Terrible old fashioned, could be good Manhattan I think or just on the rocks. Somehow I always come back to either bullet or knob Creek.
  25. Broke an ugly stick in car door. That's the only one I recall ever breaking. I've had several times one should have broken but didn't. They're generally pretty tough
