  1. @bulldog1935 I’ve seen a few posts about the Meiho boxes. Curious as to what makes them so good? Don’t necessarily need any tackle storage, but I do like spending money 😂😂
  2. I’ve fished the SV-3 a few times. Nothing more than just to throw it a bit and tune up my reel for it. It swims tru, compact size, and even tactical bassin refers to it as a finesse spinnerbait…
  3. @spartyon8 Portillos was my haunt bruh…
  4. Before we give all the love to New York style deli sammiches, let us not forget about a good ole Italian beef from Chicago. I literally ate my weight in them a year or so back when I was visiting for a couple weeks…
  5. Don’t know if this is everywhere, but I get $40 in Amazon gift cards every time I donate either platelets or double red blood through Life South. I donate as often as they’ll let me and let those Amazon cards build up. Also, if you take your change to one of them countin machines, you can get it out in cash, minus a fee OR Amazon gift cards (I believe there are others as well) dollar for dollar. I’ve done that a few times as well. I have an old metal tin that a fifth of Jack Daniels came in that is my change bucket…I get about $100 or so every year from that.
  6. My wayward son? I think I’ve said this in another post, but…offshore manufacturing is sometimes just as good as made in the USA. What you may not understand though is that MADE IN THE USA means that “all, or virtually all” of the parts, processing, manufacturing and assembly is done in the US. There are tons of awesome products that are assembled in the us with globally sourced materials. Any manufacturing company, be it reels, cars, table saws, etc have a built in error acceptance rate. Many manufacturers that purchase parts for assembly in their plant have an acceptable number of quality rejects as well. I used to work in the space industry and our QR acceptance rate was 95% or better. Which means, we were ok getting 5 out of every 100 that didn’t meet quality standards. Often times, it never hit that rate. But, I’ve audited many, many manufacturers as a supply chain guy and I’ll say there are really good ones offshore.
  7. I’m pretty sure my little town in NH had more snow treating/removal equipment than the entire state of Alabama 😂😂
  8. If you have an Ollie’s, check that out. I bought a few 13 Fishing hard baits this past weekend in Orlando.
  9. I used to live in Mew Hampshire. They don’t know how to drive in the snow either. Rey common misconception 😂😂 I remember the “big snow” back in like 14 that shut down Atlanta. I had actually flown to NH that weekend for the job interview that I ultimately took. I was living in Atlanta at the time. I remember them saying “yall don’t know how to drive in Atlanta, do you”. Well, let’s see…mayor of Atlanta let nearly 300k kids out of school AT ONE TIME. I heard that something like 75k tractor trailers transit the I75/I85/I20 corridor in Atlanta daily. Combine all that with one wreck, and you have people abandoning their cars on the side of the road…
  10. I’m a woodworker by hobby. I have played, coached or umpired baseball (that’s what I do now) for the better part of the past 40yrs. I umpire from TBall to Men’s league. Oldest I call is the 60+ which has a few over 80yr olds…
  11. Hail State - sucks to have lost Sat. I’ll keep you posted on the vertrex. Seen a few videos as well. Will be interesting to see how they work.
  12. I forgot the bait monkey had me on speed dial. Berkeley/SK - Walmart clearance. I think I paid $16 13 Fishing - Ollies, $5/ea Nomad Designs - full price at BLS. $13/ea. I just bought them because I’d never seen them. They are a soft covered body lipless with a tail.
  13. I think everyone would be super surprised at how many Chinese made items, regardless of type of product, we use and have in our everyday normal lives. Heck, even a Ford truck is now made in Mexico. That doesn’t stop ford from still selling trucks. I also know all about counterfeit products. It is a big deal, but much less common than believed (IMHO). I was in manufacturing pretty much my entire career. We had brand standards that had to be followed (like most companies). However, we made products for aerospace and space companies. We would have to be very diligent in the parts procured. Often times, direct from the manuf. I’m also a woodworker by hobby. Many low and high end table saws (for example) are made in the same factory, though they go through a different finishing line.
  14. Not sure if this qualifies as a “sale” or not, but popped into an Ollies here in Orlando. They had a ton of 13 Fishing baits…$5. I bought a few jabber jaws and other misc crankbaits.
  15. I’ll add, I use a lexa 300 for pretty much all my “big” baits. It is a little bulky, but I traded for it for some no longer used stuff…
  16. For the price, tactical Bassin recommends the Cardiff round reel.
  17. I have the SLX DC. Great reel. SO, I thought I’d get a Curado DC as well. Got one, and retuned it for a Curado MGL. To me, I didn’t see enough difference between my SLX and the Curado (dc versions) to justify an extra $70.
  18. One and the same! I live in Huntsville and my wife travels to Columbus, GA weekly for some work. So, I try to hit up all the places that are within a reasonable distance (she works 14hrs on thursdays)…Walmart/dicks/academy in and around the area. Also hit Summerland Outdoors when I’m around…
  19. Forget the Tesla, I wish I was at that game! I noticed we are actually a favorite over UK tomorrow…can’t tell you the last time I’ve seen that!!
  20. @casts_by_fly Absolutely yes. I told my wife just a bit ago “so, this is how you feel all the time?” 😂😂 I’ve had a great time in it so far…wife said “yeah, I want to get one now”. As for charging, when I charged up still in Georgia, still cold, it did take a little longer. When I hit lake citY, FL, I was about 15% or so. Charged to 100% in about 30 mins. Yeah, that’s a wait, but I actually found it refreshing to just get out and walk around a bit. Not to mention, we also just sat in there and watched fail videos on YouTube on the “big screen”.
  21. You bet. I actually stopped at the one in Opeleika on the way down - thought about you…
  22. Not sure if it’s everywhere, but I stopped by a Walmart in Tifton, GA today and nearly all of their fishing stuff was on sale..I picked up a 7” Nessie, 2 stunna’s, 2 red eye shad lipless and I can’t remember the last lure, but all in, I paid $18
  23. I drove it 7 hrs today from west GA to Orlando. All FSD. I think I touched the wheel/pedals a few times in 7hrs. 50-80 in less than a second… Also, I do not believe in leasing. To me, it’s like renting an apartment/house. You’re never putting equity into anything. We don’t get rid of cars every 3-4 yrs…
  24. Ummm…I just drove it 4 hrs and think I put my foot on the pedals and hands on the steering wheel only a few times…
  25. Ok, my son told me about the Turo app (kinda like vbro for vehicles). We have to drive to Orlando tomorrow for one of my sons’ climbing competition this week. So, we went on Turo and rented a Model S. Picked it up today and man, this thing is FAST! Owner said “I’m leaving it in insane mode for you. You can turn it off, but I want you to experience it first.” HOLY CRAP is all I can say. Once my wife needs to trade her Macan in, I will do some serious advocating for a Tesla… Also has Full Self Driving mode. Trip to Orlando should be fun! Best thing is that one of the promotions from Tesla right now is free supercharging for like 2 years, so I don’t even have to pay for the charging!!
