Totally new to boating myself, always went with others.
I am an Army Combat Engineer Veteran which I am very proud of and
currently a 2 time cerebellum stroke survivor and trying to do a few things that are on my bucket list which is very hard to accomplish. Growing up, I loved to fish and I hopefully will enjoy it now.

  1. As I have found out with age, all things in life are better with good maintenance and upkeep ?
  2. The plan is to not let mine sit for more than a week or so at a time. If it will be above freezing then I will fe wetting line once a week hopefully.
  3. Wow, that is a quiet startup? The thoughts of a 2stroke are a bit intimidating with the oil mixing and all.
  4. Can anyone give a plus/minus of owning one for a first personally owned boat?
  5. I can officially say I feel old. Back in my day, I would spend Saturday morning watching Jimmy Houston, Bill Dance, and Roland Martin. Don't know why but I had a thought. I can only remember Mercury, Evinrude, and maybe a Johnson commercial. Now I see Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Tohatsu whitch I have never heard of, ect... 4 stroke, 2 stroke, feeling a bit overwhelmed. Question is, what do you run and why?
  6. I realize that it is kinda less than ideal but I am wondering about winter fishing. I worked in freezers for 30+ years so cold doesn't really bother me, I am more worried about the boat/motor. Any thoughts?
  7. Valid point, I haven't thought about that. Great, another thing to think about?
  8. Wow Catt I like that! It kinda reminds me of the Havoc boats River Rat series, and I like that they at least give a starting price. I hear good things about Xpress boats.
  9. For me speed isn't a problem Captain Phil, I consider 40 plenty fast enough for small lakes and river fishing. I fish strictly for enjoyment. That is a good looking setup you have there.
  10. Nice rig Catt, just looked at their website and they have great designs.
  11. Any tin boats to stay away from? How about a top 5 used tin boats to consider?
  12. Dang, been on here 1 day and already find people got no sense of humor anymore. I thought it was funny....
  13. Being told you are from the south your entire life then one day finding out you aren't is kinda being told you are adopted after 50 years ? Bwahahahaha!
  14. There are alot of 98 and up Astro, Stratos, Procraft, Javelin, Tracker tin in my area and, in my price range. Surely I can find an all composite in that bunch. Has anyone ever put a list together of what year companies switched to all fiberglass?
  15. Heck, we are in the SEC for sports
