  1. i fish from shore, i was wondering if there is a certain "way" or "rule of thumb" to determine how deep the water depth is where i am casting? like the sink rate or something of cretain weight lures...just something to give me a rough estimate of how deep i am fishing...any help is much appreciated Thanks Cliff
  2. i agree..this place rocks! Cliff
  3. yeah that does sound like it, i was actually there a little while ago (needed hooks) but didnt think to look at them...i was checking out the berkley lightning rods and an abu garcia rod they had there....think i will stick to the cherrywood, i really like that rod

  7. nice one! Cliff
  8. yeah i agree too...like if i snag someone elses line and end up reeling it in, i ball it up and throw it in my box and toss it out later
  9. what i have been doing, and i dont know if it makes a difference, when i feel my worm hit something while stitchin, i will kinda twitch the line in hopes that my worm will kinda stand up while trying to get over the rock or whatever...then i will pull it hard enough to hop over the rock...then stop..reel in any slack and start stitchin again...this might work better with the worm on a football jig or something to get that stand up effect..what do you think? Cliff

score! she actually got these for me....my wife is the best....they should all be here middle of next week! Cliff
  12. i think the arbor knot is the recommended knot for tying to the spool...but i just do like you said you always do..i just tie that sucker on there and trim the tag end ;D
  13. i am in the same boat...well i dont have a chick magnet that is dying, but between me and my wife we only have one car...so i am looking at getting a small truck and was considering buying from one of those places too....we both work at the same place but my part of the job bites...so i need to get something so i can find a decent job...but mainly so i can get a boat in the future!! Cliff
  14. i saw one at walmart...it wasnt the typical black rod with the white tip...it was an ugly stick but it seemed alot stiffer to me than the "original" but i didnt check it out too well..i dont remember the model...it was a black rod with blue "trim" but it didnt have the white tip...i think it was 20-25 bucks Cliff
  15. i used a 3/0 gamakatsu EWG hook and my fluke DEFINETLY was sinking nose down....should i use a smaller hook or something to keep it sinking more horizontal? it did have plenty of action while being twitched but when sinking it was for sure nose first...and it actually sunk alot faster than i had expected it to Cliff
  16. yeah the backing thing is a great idea, i never thought of it until i read it here...and it has saved me alot so far....i have filled 4 spools with 1 spool of XT...and there is still some left!
  17. gave one of these a try last night, i have a pack and havent used them....i used a 3/0 gamakatsu EWG t-rigged it weightless...threw it out and worked it real fast along surface about half way in, then i would let it "die" and slow twitch it the rest of the way....cought 2 bass on it, both hits were on the fall Cliff

    Whats Up?

i have tried usig=ng the senko a whole bunch...not even a nibble....power worms are working well for me tho
  21. well i am a bit confused about "power" and "action"...keep in mind i dont and havent ever owned any high end rods...i use $20 rods from walmart...the rods i use always lists on the blank..."medium/heavy, line weight and lure weight" but i never says anything about "action"...if i am not mistaken the MH is the rods power, right? now the action is defined i think by where the rods primarily bends when loaded....closer to tip = faster action, correct?..in turn faster action means a "stiffer" feeling rod? when i chose a rod i just grab that sucker and shake it a bit..if it feels good, i buy it...i just choose MH or whatever based on what i think i will use it for...currently i have only MH rods, but i would like to get a medium...let me know if any of this is wrong, there is a good chance it is ;D

Lucky craft fat BDS Lucky craft pointer 78DD some power worms and a black diawa buzzbait i dont use cranks much so i figured i might as well have a couple decent ones...did he choose well? Cliff
