  1. count me in for LMB, here is my entry fee
  2. actually, i didnt HAVE to, but with the wind it was a bit chilly, but i could have done without it ;D
  3. started kinda slow, we hit our normal spots and i managed one dink on a jig. then after no action for a while we discovered a very very small tank we didnt even know was there. i noticed it was very shallow and i also noticed some 2-4 inch baitfish swimming around, so i threw out the live magic shad....two or three casts later i stuck this one, it went 2.12lbs we didnt get any more action there so we decided to go back to where we started. right away i got this one on a jig, 2.0lbs then a minute or two later i got this one, 3.3lbs and while i was taking out the hook, i told my buddy to grab the camera, he said ok and started reeling in his jig only to find this little fatty on the other end, 2.12lbs we packed it up and headed out shortly after. all the bass were caught on 5/16 eakins jigs in missouri craw with watermelon red paca chunk trailers, except the first pic that was on a magic shad. this is the best day we have had there, biggest fish we have caught in this tank, and the best numbers of quality fish. it was awesome, tons of fun!! oh yeah all the bass were released unharmed to be caught again by me!! thanks Cliff
  4. for me recently it has been a 5/16 oz eakins jig in either missouri craw or brown with a paca trailer...thats about it right now, last summer my best producer was a LC Fat BDS-2 in american shad Cliff

well i took some of the advice of some members here, mainly catt, from another thread i had going. i stuck to my jig and got me a much better fish than i have been recently. i got this one on a 5/16 eakins jig, missouri craw with a watermelon red paca chunk trailer. i threw it out, then i was messin with my other rod for a minute, picked it back up and had this little chunker on it....my scale said 2.4lbs but it sure seemed more like 3lbs to me, anyway here is the pic! i also caught two other smaller fish, one on the same jig and another on a lake fork magic shad. thanks Cliff
  10. i had a hard time with this too...fishing slow i mean...but now i have got better at having more patience and it has paid off....like it has been said here before...if you think your fishing slow, slow down some more. Cliff
  11. that there is something i dont have to worry about...no boat.....i have been thinking about it now and i think i am going to go a diferent route....my buddy has a rod that i can have to put my reel on now, then i can spend my $100 on a new rod and reel, maybe a black max and a allstar classic rod....just cant decide thanks Cliff
  12. well i am looking to buy something that academy carries, so i dont have to order online...i was thinking about an all star something or other, i cant remember the specific name of the rod, but it was $99.99 at academy, and they had several different powers and actions to choose from. Cliff
  13. i can pitch pretty good with my baitcasters....but i have no clue how to make my bait even go forward in a "flip"...i just dont get flipping Cliff
  14. i think LBH has a video of him explaining and demonstrating on how to do it??? Cliff
  15. sorry to hear it dude, i sure am glad i cant remember the last time i got a cold, flu, sick, caugh etc etc. actually i can, i was 19. i used to get strep throat EVERY year, one tonsilectomy later...no more sore throat. now the only time i get sick is when i drink too much, and i cant remember the last time i did that....probebly when i was 19 too!! get better soon Cliff
  16. burning a hole in your pocket....do you buy a $50 rod and throw $50 at ***? or do you buy a $100 rod and not buy any new baits for a while? decisions decisions! Cliff
  17. i am using a 5/16 eakins jig with paca chunks and baby paca craws as trailers....should i go bigger? i have been fishing them very slow....do you think i need to slow down more, or speed it up? thanks and sorry for te n00b questions Cliff
  18. .....if it was only that simple yeah i guess i kinda figured that ;D but it is what i do and it seems to work ok...and with an X-fast rod too!!
  19. i am by no means an expert or anything, but wouldnt it be easier to just reel slower?
  20. thanks for the tips guys...i think i will do just like Catt said...keep on chunking my jig. i know there are some nice bass in this tank and i want to catch one! thanks Cliff
  21. my PB is only a measly 4.1lbs...pretty sad for texas...although i have only lived here a bit over a year and only fished for LMB less than that. i hope to get one over 5lbs this year and also increase my numbers in the 2-4lb range. i caught this one on a t-rigged red shad 10" power worm in a private stock tank. Cliff
  22. i plan to fish this coming saturday and or sunday. the weather as of now is calling for mostly sunny, 65, South winds at 15 mph. recently i have been catching fish on jigs and t-rigs. but nothing over 2lbs. so what can i do to increase my chances of catching a better quality fish? bigger baits? smaller baits? or different baits, i really havent even thrown anything other than jigs and t-rigs...mostly jigs tho. and like i said they have been producing fish, but i would like to try to target bigger fish this weekend. i will be fishing gold course ponds with alot of sticks and stuff lying on the bottom...water is semi clear and i can get to about 1-12 feet deep in some spots. most visible cover is in shallow water...under 4 feet. any help is much appreciated thanks Cliff

  24. You're making me want to stick with what I know. I've used both of those lines and like them about equally. Trilene in the red box, Stren in the purple. Maybe I'll stick with those. when it comes to line...STICK TO WHAT YOU KNOW IS GOOD!!! i have been unsing trilene XL and XT for a long time, mainly XL until i moved to texas then i started using XT...anyway i never had problems with either...none. last week i bought a spool of PLine Floroclear...CRAP! lost a bunch of jigs and hooks and weights and worms due to this junk. stick to what you know works....if it aint broke, dont fix it Cliff
  25. what is that smell?
