  1. well i didnt find anything!! cuz i didnt go, got a call late last night to go to belton lake to catch some whites and hybrids, we did well too. we ended up with a whole mess of whites, on black, and 6 hybrids, big ones too, three were around 24" and the rest between 21"-23" good day!! those hybrids are a blast to catch!! thanks Cliff P.S. i will post some pics in the outings section as soon as i get them!
  2. it was cold this morning, a little frost on the grass. tomorrow is supposed to be mid 40's in the AM an warm to about 75 during the day. what will this cold weather in the AM do to the fishing? i am hitting the water at 7am tomorrow, what should be my game plan? i am asking cuz my normal plan hasnt produced crap in the last couple weeks. i am in central texas and will be fishing golf course tanks from shore, and possibly the lake waco shoreline as well. not looking to catch giant bass, just a limit worth of keepers would be nice or so. thanks Cliff
  3. first off i fish from shore, i will be fishing mainly golf course tanks but i may hit the shores of lake waco too. central texas by the way ;D anyway the fishing has been crap the last few weeks, if not skunked then just maybe one dink or so. so what should i do? i have been throwing cranks from top to bottom, jigs, spinnerbaits, t-rigged worms, small swimbaits, buzzbaits, everything really. maybe i need to slow down? the few small ones we have caught have mostly been on shallow cranks, if that helps much. just looking for a little bit bigger fish is all. appreciate any help from some texas folks, or anyone else!! thanks Cliff
  4. good luck, i love mowin the lawn!! as for the teeth...had one out when i was 19, then in the army i had the other three pulled, cept the idiot army doctor decided it would be ok if he just yanked one of my regular molars instead of one of the wisdom teeth, so i still have one, which didnt ever bother me cuz it had plenty of room to grow in after he pulled one of my REGULAR MOLARS!!!
  5. google her name, pauly perette, sp?) as far as i can tell she is about the same as her character.
  6. do you have cats? if it eats cat poop it can cause throwing up and runny poo.
  7. watched it but did not notice the mistake. i love this show, watch it every week. on a side note. who is hotter, Zeva or Abby?? my vote is for Abby, something about her!! ;D Cliff
  8. i didnt use a tool rest when i used flechero's little setup, pretty much the same as this one that drill isnt going anywhere (i hope), i had to pound it in there, it would be fine without the chord even tied up i think. the chord took up the extra slack in the space. but i will get a clamp if i need to, thatwas my originaal plan to begin with. but it fit so tight in there i decided to just try it like this. thanks Cliff
  9. i am not trying to hijack this but i have a related question. i fish a tank on the golf course that is actually part of lake waco. there is a small "creek" connecting the two. this creek is more like a narrow section of moving water that is at most 30 feel long. the water seem to "run" from the tank into the main lake waco. would this area be the "creek" area that your referring to 5bass? also, on the main lake waco where this "creek" leads to is actually a good sized cove full of timber, but i have never fished it, might that be a good place to wet my hook? i always notice bass boats in this cove but have yet to see one catch a fish. have access to this entire cove from shore too. i dont know why i havent fished it actually, just never did. thanks Cliff
  10. i still have never found a bag/box i liked, i think i am going to start going with my plano boxes for hard stuff and put my plastics in zip lock bags, and chunk it all in a back pack
  11. built this baby in about 25 minutes, one 15 minute break at work and 10 minutes when i got home. all i have to do is drill a hole for the mandrel once i get it. it is 3/4 cabinet plywood (scrap from work), and the drill is held in place with a piece of extension chord my dog chewed up. ;D little glue and a few nails and it was ready to roll....or turn i guess. total cost was exactly ZERO dollars. i ran it with the drill on high speed and it was perfectly stable, hopefully it stays that way with the mandrel in place. i will follow up after its first use to let you know how it works!
  12. congrats man!! glad to hear everyone is in good shape. good luck!! Cliff P.S. whats his name?
  13. i dont have any pics cuz i was by myself and there wasnt really anything worth taking pics of. but i caught 5 bass and a couple went 2 lbs or so. not too exciting except i didnt go to the golf course like i usually do, i went to lake waco instead. i fished there a bit last year and never caught anything over about 8 inches. anyway i caught them on several different baits. lake fork live magic shad, red shad eakins jig with paca trailer, t-rigged culprit worm and a spook. the biggest two came on the spook and magic shad. i walked the shoreline for a ways to start throwing a sexy shad crank and got nothing. then i came across this little spot between the mainland and an island. narrow enough i could cast across it and it was loaded with flooded timber and some big rocks. it was also full of shad and there was fish busting them on top. i had what appeared to be a really nice fish boil up on the magic shad one time but never got it to come back for anything. it was a good night and i gained some confidence in fishing lake waco. i also spotted a couple places to try that dont require 4 bucks to enter, just a short hike. and the best part of all of this, is i dont have to rely on my buddy (who holds the membership at the golf course) to go fishing. thanks Cliff
  14. i would do the replica thing. take some good pics and measurements, and let her go
  15. shark off the coast of galveston....we caught a few over 100lbs...pretty awesome. freshwater was a 36.5 inch muskie i caught on light tackle(garcia 101 spinning and light berkley rod, 6lb trilene XL). i was walleye fishing with an 1/8 jig and minnow. had a small walleye i was reeling in, about 10 inches. it got nailed and drag started peeling, then it came unbuttoned and i was back to fighting a 10 inch walleye. then it got hammered again!! fought for about 15 minutes or so. when i finally landed it, my poor walleye was all mangled and dangling from the line, and my little jig head was actually hooked in the corner of the muskies mouth. i was not using a steel leader or anything, just blows my mind how many pike had cut me off in the past but this one didnt. it was pretty cool, bunch a people gathered as i was fighting it, good times!!
  16. well i cant remember the last time i got the flu, or sick in anyway even, i guess i am lucky. i dont get the flu shot because of this, i figure they can give mine to someone who needs it, kids or older folks or whatever.
  17. i caught a 5lber, that was one of my goals. i caught less fish overall but better quality, also a goal. but i think the best thing i did was bought and learned to build my own custom fishing rod, thanks to keith and ronnie. just got two more blanks this past weekend, looking forward to get working on those!! Cliff
  18. shallow cranks and spinnerbaits have been the ticket here for the last week or two. havent gotten bit on jigs or plastics at all.
  19. female drivers, no survivors!!
  20. topped off my wifes car for $2.65 yesterday and i bet it is less today
  21. nice one. i caught a 36 muskie on a 10 inch walleye in the same fashion once. but i managed to get the muskie all the way in, it was actually hooked in the corner of its mouth. good stuff!!
  22. i fish with only BC gear, i have one HVY and one MED HVY. i can cast everything in my box with these two rods and my Revo S's. even a weightless trick worm.
  23. well i think i caught the same fish that is my PB, although it has shed some weight. i saw her up under some over hanging trees so i pitched my LC RC 2.5 purple perch up under there. cranked hard twice and hit the fish with the bait, she spooked a bit and turned facing my crank. i cranked two more hard turns right at her and she nailed it, i paused for a sec then nailed her. she weighed in at 4.6 on my crappy scale and measured about 23 inches. the first pic is of the fish i caught today, the second is the one i caught a few months back(5lbs then). so do you think it was the same fish? and here is a couple more of the one from today. we also caught a bunch of 1-2 lbers on buzzbaits and jigs. thanks Cliff
  24. FYI, walmart replaced the rod, no questions asked and with no receipt. so we are back in business, cept i think i will respool with regular mono now!!
