  1. Can someone point me to a bubble box? not sure what that is. And can all this stuff be run off the battery I use for my TM? Thanks, keep the ideas coming.
  2. I have an 8' Bass Raider made by Pelican. No livewell. There is a possibility of a "small craft" tournament series starting locally, I would love to get involved. I am wondering if anyone has any clever ideas for a livewell. Here is the catch. I don't really have room IN the boat. I am thinking of something that floats, but won't create alot of drag. Something that will keep a limit of bass alive, that is obvious. And most importantly, CHEAP!! ;D Now I did have one idea regarding the space problem in my boat. How do you think it would work out if I made the livewell from a cooler then attached my seat to the lid of the cooler? Also this would only be in the boat when fishing a tournament, otherwise i would leave it home. Any ideas are welcome y'all, I know someone can help me out!!!! Thanks Cliff
  3. I don't have a suggestion for you, but you should get a good one from the BR crew, thats how I got mine. I have an 8' Bass Raider named..."The Bass Tub". Another one was "lil piece o ship". Cliff
  4. This is a true story. When I was stationed at Ft Hood weused to go out and fish the tanks on post. My and a buddy had been at it all day on one tank with nothing to show for it. This "good ol boy" comes walking down the bank past us a ways, back in this really thick flooded timber. He had nothing but one rod with what appeared to me to be a Rapala Skitter Pop. He threw it out there a few times then we here the comotion. Fish on. He get it close to the bank and reaches down with one hand to land his catch, and the lure comes flying back at him. Without missing a beat he goes in head first!!! We couldn't believe this. After a few seconds he comes up and out of the water with a 12lb catfish!!!! Said he caught an 8lber the day before in the same spot on the same topwater bait. After a minute talking to us he left with his supper. That was the craziest thing I had ever seen while fishing. Cliff
  5. Mine is going pretty good so far. This is my first time fishing spring/spawn with my boat. I managed to beat my PB three times with the current one landing at around 8-9lbs (no scale). The quality of bass for me has improved alot, not as many dinks and many more good keeper sized fish. One goal I haven't met yet is a limit in one outing, I have yet to catch five keeper size bass in one outing. I also am going to concentrate more on cranks. So far it is great! Cliff
  6. I read that this lake has put out 12 Sharelunkers so far this season, and the guy who got that 16lber has two of those himself!
  7. So my nephew when play fighting likes to lower his head and ram you in the gut with it. Well he tried this on some kid the other day and the kid got smart, moved, and he ramed the corner of the computer desk instead. After two and a half hours waiting in the ER, the nurse came in, squeezed the cut together, "click click", your good to go, see ya in a week to have them removed. Anyone ever had these instead of stitches? I was wondering about the pain factor? They did not give him novacane (sp?) but some topical numbing stuff. He felt it and it seemed like it hurt, but he didn't shed a tear. I have had stitches once, don't remember anything, too drunk back then, another time I needed them but asked the doc if there were any other options so he used "superglue" for skin, worked great. Anyway here is a shot of "staplehead" ;D
  8. When I made the switch to BC I gave the righty an honest effort, couldn't get it. So now I use leftys and it is way better. I was like you having always used spinning gear cranking with my left.
  9. T-rigged Rage Craw has been the ticket for me this year.
  10. Not sure how far into PA Stroudsberg is, but Cayuga Lake is in central NY (Finger Lakes). My folks had a place there for years growing up. Great smallmouth fishing and LMB as well. Not to mention perch, walleye, northern pike, and lake trout. I caught many smallmouth over the years from this lake. I never fished any of the other finger lakes but I am sure they have great fishing as well. Good luck!! Cliff
  11. I have never bed fished before this year. I caught two that I could see were on the beds. Took forever to get them to bite, after I took a quick pic and released them. I came back a while later and both fish were right back on their beds, so that was good. I don't have a livewell so thats not even an option for me really. I would say that I most likely will not go looking for beds again in the future. I would have felt terrible too if something like that happened to me. Cliff
  12. I have been using 50lb power pro for awhile now. The only time I get any serious backlash is when I have all my brakes off for flip n pitch then forget and try to make a long cast, even then it isn't that bad. Cliff
  13. Man your killin me!! Between this comment and the one in the "New arrival" thread I am rollin! ;D

  15. Dude, you are my freakin hero!!
  16. Been raining all weekend long but I decided I was going this morning either way. We managed to not get wet, it was overcast and looking like rain all morning, but never did until this afternoon. I caught four fish and my buddy caught two. All fish were caught on spinnerbaits or Rage Craws. Nothing big but a couple decent keeper fish. Was a fun trip! ;D Thanks Cliff
  17. excellent!! ;D
  18. Good luck man!
  19. Well mine was originally "TheRedTorpedo" Which is what I called my first boat. It was like a 1952 14' v-hull. My dad got it for me, it had a dent in the side and a hole in the bottom. He pounded out the dent, patched the hole, painted it red and put on a 7.5 hp merc, and The Red Torpedo was born. But some forum deal said I couldn't have my screen name the same as login name so I just shortened it to "Red", which means nothing really. My name is Cliff (Clifford), talk about "hearing it all your life", Clifford the Big Red Dog anyone? ;D Anyway I will say one thing, The Red Torpedo didn't go fast and it wasn't pretty, but it sure did catch alot of smallmouth bass!! Cliff
  20. I have the bass raider 8 and i use the zip ties as well. I actually learned the hard way and cut a ducer cable while tilting, before the zip ties. But with the zip ties I havent had any issues. I actually dont run the cable past the tilting part of motor anymore. I just run it up to the bottom if tilting part then over too the sonar. I have the extra cable wrapped up and zip tied in a neat bunch to keep it out of the way. I think the best way is to just keep an eye on the cable while your tilting so it dosen't get caught. ;D

    Joke

This old man is sitting on his porch and a young boy walks buy with a piece of chicken wire fencing. The old man asks, "What are you doing with that chicken wire boy? "I am going to catch some chickens" says the boy. The old man shakes his head and says, "you can't catch chickens with that!" A couple hours later the boy comes walking back by with an armful of chickens!!! The next days it is the same thing, only this time the boy has a roll of duck tape. "what are you going to do with that tape boy? "I am going to catch some ducks!" A couple hours pass and here comes the boy again with a bunch of ducks! The old man just can't believe it! The next morning the young boy comes walking past the old mans house with a handful of pussywillows. The old man shouts, "hold on son, let me get my hat!!!" ;D
  22. Does anyone know where you can view the new season episodes online? Thanks! Cliff
  23. Yes on Lake Waco they are. Those fisrt two pics were bed fish. I tried getting them on Friday but couldn't get the bite, got them today after about 15 minutes each. If you see my other thread, on second page ow I caught a really good on on Friday, I assume it was bedding however could not see it like these two. I have also been catching several smaller fish in the same area, I don't know but I think they are about done, I think most of the big females have moved on. You in Dallas area? Cliff
  24. Started at the lake today and I managed a couple decent ones on a Rage Craw. Then we went to my buddies stock tanks and I got another decent fish on a trick worm, fun day!
  25. I just made a few for the first time recently. The ones I got came without the weedguard in. I built a few on some jigheads I already had with the weedguard in too. I found it MUCH easier to do with the weedguard not there. All I did to add it in was a single drop of super glue and stick it in there. Pretty easy.
