  1. I have the Raider 8 footer, it fits between the wheel wells of my 2004 dodge dakota. I don't know if the 10 footers are wider or not.
  2. I was one of those "college isn't for me" guys. I went one year right out of high school, didn't go back for next year. Then I went in the Army, did my four years. Then I went to school again for Building Construction. Did not return for second year, instead I took a job as an entry level carpenter and never looked back. Now, after moving back to Texas, I am still working as a carpenter and have also learned to weld (mig) and do some basic electrical work. I think, as well does my boss, that I have a good future with this company, possibly working into a supervisor position a few years down the road when some of the old farts retire. I work my butt off day in day out for decent money, nothing special. For me though, I love my job and would rather be happy working in a field I enjoy making on ok living than dread going to work everyday and making a ton of money.
  3. I like the Big O brush jigs and the Big O footballs.
  4. http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/ Can't go wrong with these. This is all I will be throwing this year. Caught my PB on one just a few weeks ago.
  5. I haven't tried this rig, and don't plan to. Not because I am against it or anything, and I do have the gear to throw it if I wanted. For me, it just seems like a hassle! I just want to tie on my crank or jig and fish, not worry about wires and swivels and five baits and umbrellas and whatever else!! Cliff
  6. I have one. I really like it. I have the burner model. I use it for tossing spinnerbaits. I use it with 50lb braid and a 7'Med rod and I can chunk a 3/8 blade a freakin mile with it. I haven't had it for very long and so far I have zero complaints. I enjoy fishing with it just as much as I do with my Revos. Cliff
  7. I use the regular Craw, normally I pinch off about 1/2 inch, but I will use the full craw sometimes. I have yet to use the Baby or Lobster.
  8. Next time you go fishing, leave EVERYTHING except for your jigs and jig trailers at home. Force yourself to learn jigs. Thats how I did it, now it is my favorite bait to fish and very productive, especially for big fish. Cliff
  9. Thanks. I learned from it.
  10. Don't have a guess on the weight, but what a pretty bass!!!
  11. SLOB!
  12. I use a Lamiglas Excel 7116C with a Revo SX-L for flippin jigs and a Lamiglas Excel 735C with a Revo S-L for football jigs. As for the ratio, the S is normal 6.4:1 I think and the SX is a 7. As far as I am concerned I do not notice a bit of difference regarding the ratios. Same goes for throwing Spinnerbaits with a Revo S-L or my Quantum Burner. I pay zero attention to ratios on my reels.
  13. Sure wish I could make it!! I know y'all will have fun.
  14. I used to use braid for everything except my crankin rod. 50lb PP on everything. Last year I won a free 660yrd spool of Sunline Fluoro so I have been using it. I liked it but just didn't feel as confident fishing it around heavy timber like I did with braid. Now, both my flippin sticks and spinnerbait rigs have braid. My squarebill rod, texas rig rod, and football rig rod have the fluoro while my crankin rod and weightless rod have copoly. As I use up the fluoro it will be replaced with braid. Cliff
  15. I only use BC rigs. My Revos cast light baits just fine. I do have a Curado 51E now as well, but haven't used it enough yet to say weather it is better at light stuff than the Revo.
  16. I don't need any either, but this is the reason why Siebert gets my orders. Just placed another one today actually!! Good stuff! Cliff
  17. I use a LC Gerald Swindle Mini SSR as a wake sometimes. I have had great luck with it.
  18. I have been fishing all my life, however never very seriously and generally not for LMB. When I moved back to Texas I knew LMB was what I wanted to target. Was doing some searching on the net for info and found BR. I owe everything I know about LMB fishing to this site and its awesome mods and members. I have met a few people and some I have never met that I consider my friends. Someday I hope to make it to a BR Roadtrip and meet many more. I visit this site everyday and I don't feel right if I don't get my BR fix!!! Thanks! Cliff
  19. I was in Walmart today to buy a new vacuum cleaner and remembered this thread so I figured I would check out te crappy fishing section. I was shocked!! They have Vengeance and vendetta rods, some Daiwa rods and the KVD rods that go for $140. I saw Skeet reels and a Shimano Caenan. However, the bait selection was crap as usual. Hopefully they will continue to improve their selection. Cliff
  20. "I cut it twice and it is still too short!" I coined this as my companies motto "Company Name, if your not doing it twice, your doing it wrong" and "Company Name, we do things the hard way"
  21. 1. A boss who tells you two different ways to do the same thing, you do it the easiest way, then it is wrong, then gets on your case for "always trying the easy way", then has to make a big deal about it to co workers about the mistake, even though his crews makes mistakes daily. (sorry, bad day at work) 2. Idiots. 3. Old knots left on lures/hooks. 4. Little League parents who holler at the coach. If you can do better, then volunteer YOUR time to coach you freakin #2!! 5.. Wind. 6.. Being pinched. 7.. Grown men who can't get, and keep a job, sit at home and sleep while their girlfriend works 10 hour days to support her own kids AND his sorry arse.
  22. I fish ALOT of cover, so that is an issue. Don't really know how to anchor the rod holder. Making any holes is not an option. Didn't really want to load it up with liquid nails or anything cuz that can make a huge mess and I don't know how much I will even use this thing. Cooler? I never bring one. Cup of coffee and a Mt. Dew usually. My trips are generally not more than 5 hours. I will probably junk this thing. In reality, if I had all 8 of my rods in the boat I would never get any serious fishing done, I would just keep switching baits!! Thanks Cliff
  23. Thats how I roll!!! LOL Seriously, I don't know how I will like it, I generally fish out of the front of the boat so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. My concern is hooking one while casting or catching them on a low hanging tree branch or something. I will give it a test run next weekend to see how I like it.
  24. Got bored today and have had this idea in my head for a while so I put it together. If it works out well I will re do it a little nicer. It is not connected to the boat, the battery will hold it in place. It is made from my old battery box that I never used and some PVC and zip ties. Think it will work?
  25. Great show. Looked like alot of fun to me!!!
