  1. I almost never throw hardbaits, aside from topwaters and spinnerbaits. I have them, and they are nice, but I never catch crap on them when I do use them. I am considering getting rid of them so I can get more plastics!
  2. anyone know where you can watch full episodes from this season online?
  3. On Lake Waco for some reason the fish stay shallow all year long. I have the best luck flippin n pitchin heavy cover working every stick and stump very slowly. Also sometimes a spinnerbait run right through this thick cover works well too. The main problem is figuring out what soft plastic to throw at them. Lately it has been Rage Craws and jigs. I agree with throwing to shade as well.
  4. I use 50lb Power Pro on all my set up except the cranking one, and 20lb on my spinning rig. I have no issues. No windknots or anything. Have not had fish break off and fish very heavy flooded timber 95% of the time. Love it!

  6. That was freakin awesome(not that you had a tick on your wang, the story telling). I bow to the Master.
  7. Mine is easily my 6'6" Allstar 785 custom, made by me with the help of flechero, it was my first build. I use it for flippin/pitchin heavy cover with t-rigs and jigs. A Revo S-L is on it spooled with 50lb Power Pro. With this setup I have no issues pulling fish from the thick cover I normally fish. Wouldn't trade it for anything! Caught my PB (avatar pic) with it. Pulled that baby right in!
  8. I guess my only real plan is to start eating better and take my dog for a jog every night. And if I need to I will really try to cut in the final week. I think I can take her!
  9. Hey! Who you callin 300lbs!!? j/k I know about all that and she does too, this was her idea, not mine. I told her I have more to lose but she said its fair.
  10. Ok, if we both do it then she goes to Six Flags but I don't have to go. I still get to go fishing, but not with her. Sounds like a crap deal to me, cuz I am going to go fishin either way!
  11. We didn't discuss what happens if we both do it. I will get back to you on that. Also, after we "weigh in" each week, whoever is behind has to do the dishes for that week!
  12. we are going for one month to lose ten pounds. If I win, she has to fish with me anytime I want, evertime I want her to, until she catches a 3lb bass on an artificial bait. If she wins I have to take her to Six Flags for the day. I am NOT a big fan of those type of amusement parks. She has a gym membership, I don't. I was a wrestler and know how to suck weight, she dosen't. ;D Think I can pull it off? Cliff
  13. Went out again this morning and again the jig bite was on. No really big fish today, caught a bunch and this one was the biggest. Same as before, jig in heavy timber, outside of the tree line.
  14. Here they are I think? What do you think?
  15. Thanks y'all! Got skunked tonight though. My one problem seems to be keeping Rage Craws stocked in my box, I always run out!! Anyway gonna try it again tomorrow evening then again Sunday morning.
  16. I am usually out Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. However now that we are working Saturdays it will be just Saturday afternoons and Sundays. BUT, little league is over so I plan to get in a few evenings during the week as well. Dand Saturdays are cuttin into y on the water time bad, but the overtime is great to keep my tackle box overflowing! Cliff
  17. Ok thats what I want. Thanks for the info. Cliff
  18. For size anyway. I have been in somewhat of a skunk being that I can't seem to catch more than one keeper size fish per outing. Well tonight I got four! Two being in the top five biggest fish I have ever caught. I fished the Rage Craw and spinnerbait first with nothing for about an hour an a half. So I switched to a jig(poison tail made by me, one fish had a rage trailer the other had a paca) and craw and focused on the outside edge of the tree line. Within the next hour I caught these two fish plus two other smaller keepers. I have no clue on weights as my scale is messed up and I don't really care. I know they were good fish and it was a freakin blast! I am still pretty pumped up about it. The pics are pretty terrible mainly due to me shakin so bad from having caught them. Thanks for lookin! Cliff

    Senko or Fluke

I don't have much luck with senkos so I stick with the fluke. Sometimes I twitch it really fast keeping it on the surface, other times just under the surface, and sometimes I dead stick it. One of my favorite baits.
  20. Thanks for the info guys. I don't know much about the GPS deal. Does that mean I can mark a location where I caught fish or found a hump so it would be easy to return to that exact spot? If thats the case, then that is what I want. But the very most important thing is a unit that is accurate and shows me a good picture of the bottom. 99% of my fishing is flippin shallow timber, but some days they just don't bite there. It would be nice if I could go deeper and fish a hump or ledge or something. Not to mention that I just need to learn to use electronics and fish structue better. I am not actually looking to buy anything until x-mas time when I get my profit sharing check from work, won't have the funds before then. Thanks again Cliff
  21. I am looking to buy a new unit for my 8' Pelican soon. I want to try to keep it around $200. Can anyone recommend anything to me? I came across this one at Basspro. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10205392_250003001_250000000_250003000_250-3-1 Any info or reports on this particular unit will be much appreciated! Cliff
  22. I only have a small 8' buster type boat, and let me tell you it is no fun when a boat goes flyin by really close. However, on Lake Waco it dosen't happen often, very rarely infact. On another lake I fish though, there is no "no wake" bouys or anything, even near the ramp. People come flyin in right up to the ramp. I haven't run into any courtesy problems on Lake Waco as of yet. Cliff
  23. Wow how tall are you? I wear a 30 length. 6'8" of twisted steel and sex appeal. ;D HA!
  24. I will keep at it for sure. Normally I don't put so much pressure on myself to catch bigger fish, I am just happy to be out there. However, my brother is coming to visit from Ohio at the end of the month. I would hate for him to come all that way and catch a bunch of dinks, he can do that without traveling halfway across the country. I really want to put him on some better fish than he normally gets up there. Hopefully I can figure them out a little better by then, it dosen't help that my depth finder died and I won't be able to replace it before he comes!! Either way, the Rage craws are working great, burned through a whole pack between yesterday and today. Cliff
  25. Went again this morning, only three today, one keeper. It was this nice little chunk. All fish caught on rage craw. Apparently I am only allowed one keeper fish per outing. I can catch a hundred dinks but getting two keepers is not allowed. Today I actually had another keeper on my spinnerbait, but after one quick shake of its head it was gone. I knew I wouldn't land it due to the fact that I had already landed my daily keeper about two hours earlier. ;D
