  1. If this is the reel/s first servicing, I would recommend that the reels be serviced by a professional, but if you must DIY. I would recommend that you have each reel/s schematic/s in front of you before you even start. The thumb screw on the top is to open and remove the palming side plate, and spool. Remove the crank assembly, then there are 2 screws on the outside of the crank side cover, and, one pan-head screw on the inside of the spool race that also holds the crank side plate on. Remove those 3 screws and the crank side cover will lift off. Good Luck & Tight Lines!! I tear down my Revo S-L's myself. II learned this the hard way...When you open the crank side cover be cautious of the two small springs that just sit atop small posts. I always remove them immediatly and set them aside while I do the servicing.
  2. Never would have thought of that, might give that a try. Thanks!
  3. I was there in 98-99 as well...what unit?
  4. I would get the Lamiglas Excel 7116C for $120 at TW.....$95 with the black friday sale. Then spend the rest of your $150 on jigs and flippin baits! I have this rod and let me tell you it is a beast. Rated to 2oz, made in the USA, lifetime warranty, can't go wrong! ;D
  5. Here is a link to my bag...it is the AZ Medium. http://fishing.flambeauoutdoors.com/otdrs_fishing/soft_tackle/soft_tackle_systems.asp Currently my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits are stored in the zipper pocket that is on the inside of the lid. They are just a tangled up mess in there. However, I really like they way everything else is stored. The main compartment holds my bags of plastics stored like a filing cabinet. The large outer pocket holds one box with jigs and hardbaits. Don't really know what to do to solve this. Any ideas? I don't really want a bag that is too much bigger and I really like my "filing" system for plastics so I would prefer to not change it. Is there a smaller size "hanging" box that might work? A wallet maybe that could fit in there somewhere? I am open to suggestions as it is a real pain to untangle them when I need it. Thanks Cliff
  6. I don't think it will be an issue. Sounds to me like your exactly the opposite of most people. Cast with their right hand then switch and reel with the right. So for you if you had a left hand retrieve baitcaster, you cast with your left, then switch and reel with your left. However, for me, I cast with my right and reel with my left, no switching.
  7. My wife is the best....for my birthday she got me a SPRO Bronzeye Frog, LC Sammy, two Terminator spinnerbaits, Bandit 300, Berkley Power Worms, Gammy G-Locks, and Tru Tungston weights. Now I just have to decide if I want to brave this cold front coming in and hit the lake in the morning!! TThanks Cliff
  8. Lucky Craft Sammy! I couldn't catch a thing on it. Switch to a similar color Zara Spook and start catching. I finally sold that thing in the flea market here.
  9. I don't have a favorite, I love them all!! Someday I will make it home again for my moms turkey day dinner...no one makes it as good as mom does!
  10. Weather it was the end or not I don't know, but I do know it was a great fish.
  11. Yeah it was weird. It was kinda freaky the way it jumped. It kinda stuck its big head out slowly and held it up for a couple seconds then pushed itself almost all the way out. It was a really big fish too, bigger than anything I have ever caught thats for sure.
  12. It started to get very windy today so I put the boat back on the truck and drove to a spot I wanted to fish from the bank. As I approached the bank I noticed a very large fish in the shallow water just sitting there. I threw a couple different baits in front of it without even a sniff. I knew it wasn't a gar but was not sure if it was a bass. So then I hit it with my spinnerbait and it barely moved then slowly swam off. I move about 50 feet down the bank and I see it swimming along again very slow, and this time it was much closer to me, maybe 10-15 feet away. So I hit it again and it barely moves. Then a couple seconds later it jumps kinda half hearted out of the water!! It WAS a bass and a really freakin big one too! I bet its eyes were the size of a quarter. It was sick looking though. Skin was a gray color, I didn't see any green. Plus I saw some whiteish spots all over it. My question is do you think it was sick? Coming to the end of its life naturally? Anyway it was a pretty neat experience, too bad I couldn't get her to bite!
  13. Got out this morning for a bit before the wind got to be too much. I caught four bass, all on a spinnerbait and all from the same rocks as the last couple weeks. These were the two better fish of the bunch.
  14. I agree with this. I went to the humane society to get my dog. I had my heart set on a young puppy, but ended up with a 9 month old, who was going to be put down the next day cuz she had been there so long. As I walked through the kennels looking at all the dogs, they were all barking like mad, except for one who couldn't take her eyes off me as I walked down the aisle. Even when I was walking up the other aisle I noticed her in her small outdoor pen watching me walk around. At that point I went and got the people and took her home. I was out of town the last two days for work, which is very rare. Wife said she stayed by the door all night waiting for me to get home.
  15. Thanks y'all, I got it figured out. Here are the main spots I fish on Lake Waco. The first two are from the same ramp, one is north and one is south. The red "x" marks the ramp, the yellow lines mark areas I always fish and have caught fish. North of ramp South of same ramp This are is at the north end of lake. A creek comes in in the upper left at the arrow and the river comes in at blue arrow. The blue "x" on here marks where I caught the fish in my avatar, my PB my avatar, my PB.

  21. Thanks for all the input guys. Until I can afford to get a really good scale, I am just gonna forget about the weights. I am headed out tomorrow morning again, gonna fish this same spot, if it is dead I will load boat and head to a different spot. Hopefully though it is still holding some bass and hopefully they are biting!!! Cliff
  22. I have the Sega Bass Fishing game for the Wii. I didn't care for it much but my nephew sure does love it! He beat my record with a 20+ pounder!! I got it at the grocery store for $20 I think it was.
  23. Funny, the guy I am playing in Fantasy BENCHED Vick!! He has over 40 fantasy pts! Guess how many points I am beating him by....40!!!!
  24. Yeah, regardless of what these bass weigh, I have been catching at least one in this size range each trip now for the past month or so. Pretty good for me considering I could barely break the dink mark all summer long.
  25. Ok I caught this one this morning on a spinnerbait, same spot as the last one I caught. My scale told it was 4.1lbs. I took a good length and girth measrement and used the calculator here on BR. The length was 21 1/2 inches and girth was 14 1/2...that comes out to be 6.57lbs. I could put my fist in this fishes mouth fairly easily. What do you think? Either way it was a ton of fun!! She fought hard and got airborne a couple times, and once after I released her. Thanks Cliff
