  1. Yeah I hear ya, I am working on it. Pouring rain and wind this morning, hopefully I can get out later this afternoon/evening.
  2. I have ben skunked two days in a row now!! Everything is backwards this year. Normally I struggle in the heat of summer and kill em in the fall. Did great this summer and can't catch a lick now that the heat is gone and water temps are dropping.
  3. Thanks for the info. Still struggling and its getting worse. Skunked twice in a row!! That hasn't happened in a while. Gonna give it another go in the morning. Thought this heavy cloud cover and wind would help me out but nothing! Cliff
  4. Man that thing is a hoss!! Nice job! Cliff
  5. Yes but not all DI units do. I am looking at a Humminbird 500 series unit, I cannot afford to to get the unit with both DI and GPS. Curious what everyone thought would be the better choice.
  6. ...would you rather have Side/Down Imaging, OR GPS in you electronics? Thoughts? Cliff
  7. I got this rod for Christmas last year. It is one of my favorites. It is great for squarebills obviously. However, I think it makes a great spinnerbait/buzzbait rod. I also use to to throw frogs like the Horney Toad into thick timber. It is an awesome rod in my opinion and it is a beast, it will pull big bass out of nasty cover. Cliff
  8. Pigs as usual! Nice job.
  9. Good stuff. A rudder is a must, I believe I have posted about how I made mine on here, if not shoot me a PM and I will hook you up. I think I posted about my floor too. Good Luck Cliff
  10. Thanks for the info y'all. Please forgive my ignorance, but when you refer to a breakline, you are talking about the next drop, treeline, grassline, etc etc out from the cover I was fishing, correct? For example, there is a certain treeline I like to fish and have done well. It is now dry or in less than a foot of water. So I should be looking at the small maybe 2-4 foot drop off that is about 50 feet out from the current bank? Thanks! Cliff

    Ok Fine!

Hope you get to feeling better. Good thing you don't have to cast and reel with your feet, then you would be in big trouble!! Cliff
  12. ...all the cover where they are normally found is on dry land!? The lake I fish, you are almost guaranteed to catch at least a dink if you flip the timber. Now, the majority of the wood, at least in the areas I can access in my boat, is on dry land. So my question is where do I look next? I do fish any wood or rock I can find that is still wet, but what would be the next best place to look? How would you approach fishing it if you normally flip a jig or the like? Thoughts? Thanks Cliff
  13. I agree!!
  14. I like a Bandit 200, I know it dives to like 8 feet, but I throw it right to the bank and bang it off the bottom and whatever else is in the way with great results.
  15. I have the 8' Bass Raider. I used 6ga wire to run the TM and the power cable from my graph was long enough to reach to the back of the boat. I use alligator clips for the graph to connect to the battery. The TM has those small "washers" on the end and they fit over the battery post and tighten the wing nut to hold them on. All the wires are zip tied together and run along the floor to on side. Then I covered them with this sticky tape type stuff that the roofers use at work, sticks right to the floor, and gets stickier with heat. One thing I would recommend would be making all connections water tight. I used electrical tape, then shrink tubing, then liquid electrical tape. They have sat submerged in water many many times and I have never had an issue. Hope that helps. Cliff
  16. You are logged in to the best bass fishing book.
  17. I think the people doing are true artists. It is illegal however. But if done on a legal wall like you mentioned, I think it is great. Definetly takes some talent.
  18. Yeah I am beginning to like the longer rods too. I do still use a 6'9" rod though for chucking squarebills into nasty timber.
  19. Been there, done that!! Even with a couple that were keepers!!
  20. The best on the net!! Welcome.
  21. Chart/White spinnerbait and a Bandit 200, pearl w/ chart back.
  22. I understand completely. I use a 7'11" rod and I love it.
  23. I wish the Academy here would start carrying more Rage products. They only have the craws, baby craws and anacondas. I flip and pitch alot and need to get me some of them roosters. Guess I will have to make a TW order sometime. Cliff
  24. I normally use a 7'3" Lamiglas Excel, 734C. Revo S-L spooled with 12lb Seaguar fluoro. Hook would be an Owner 4/0.
