  1. I don't throw any deep diving cranks so I don't have a rod for that. I use a Lamiglas Excel 703C for medium cranks like a Bandit 200. I use a Powel Squarebill Rod for all my shallow cranks in heavy timber. This thing is a freakin beast, I love this rod and find myself also using it for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits and anything else when I need to get back in the junk. This rod has no problems getting quality fish out from heavy cover.
  2. I use a Rgae Craw about 100% of the time on the back of a jig. I do like to flip a beaver by itself in colder water though.

    Skyrim

Skyrim looks cool. I have only had the Xbox for a short time. I am still working on Assassins Creed. Expecting Assassins Creed II, Oblivion, and Duke Nukem for Christmas. Too many games!!
  4. A good pair of insulated boots should do the trick. I had great luck with Irish Setter (made by Red Wing) boots when I lived in MN. Very warm and not too bulky.
  5. I use two bags. One holds four standard plano boxes. Jigs in one, spinnerbaits/topwaters in one, shallow cranks/jerkbaits in another, and mid to deep diving cranks in the last one. The second bag is about the same size however there are no boxes. I store all my soft plastics in original packaging here, kinda neatly placed in the bag like a filing cabinet. This makes it very easy to find what I am looking for. I organize them by brand. Tools, terminal tackle, etc etc are stored in the smaller side pockets between the two bags. Any extra baits are kept in miscellaneous plano boxes and/or Walmart bags in my closet.
  6. I currently have six reels and eight rods. Hoping to even the numbers this Christmas. I take usually 3-6 with me in the boat. It all depends on the trip.
  7. Great way to start man!! I got hooked by catching dinks for the first year, you started of well!!! Cliff

    I Quit!

keep it up man!! I smoked for 10 years or so then started dippig, been on that for another 10 years. I plan to quit on my birthday, which is Thanksgiving day. I figure ten years of each is enough. Cliff
  10. Thanks man!! Your wife must be one heck of a lady, not only because she whipped cancer's butt, also because she shares her birthday with me!!! Cliff
  11. Nice!!!
  12. search "Monkeyballs" and watch the first one on the list. This is an R rated video but it is hilarious! Cliff
  13. The main reason is cuz I am out of braid but have 660 yxs of fluoro!!!
  14. What are your thoughts on using 20lb fluoro for squarebills and spinnerbaits around wood cover? I have been using braid with no issues however that is my only set up still using braid. Just wondering if I should make the switch or buy another spool of braid?
  15. That was great!!
  16. Am am just shy of 400, but the year ain't over yet!!
  17. I have never owned a gun. I do however go target shooting with my wifes step dad and do enjoy it. He also takes my nephews when they visit and they love it. I am considering getting a small caliber rifle that would be suitable for me and them (7 & 9 years old) to shoot targets with. Can someone recommend me an inexpensive small caliber (17 or 22?) rifle that would be a good starter gun for us? Thanks Cliff
  18. I have those same water temps right now and have been doing well on a crank and jig around rocky points.
  19. Don't know I haven't used it. For your lake and stuff I would get the same one I use. Lamiglas excel 703 c....check it out on TW.
  20. If it were me I would get a dedicated cranking/treble hook lure rod.....I can recommend a good one if you like
  21. The only thing I would do is use the high speed reel for your jigs and switch your cranking rod to one of the other reels
  22. Thanks. I am going to switch rods....I have a 7'3" 5 power I will be using while casting a jig from now on. I know I should be using a football jig but don't currently have any. Will be getting some soon as this type of jig fishing will be a more frequent thing for me now. Thanks again for all the help.
  23. SLOBS!!! Nice job Big O
  24. Thanks for the info. I always spread the weed guard so I got that covered. I know I should be using a football jig in this situation but I don't have any. They are certainly on my wish list. Cliff
  25. 10-12 feet. 3/8 seibert outdoors brush jig/rage craw, greens and browns. Chunk rock, probably nothing bigger than a basketball. 7'11' flippin stick, revo S, 20lb Invizx.
