  1. Yes pre 97, when Gary still made them. They sat wrapped up for over twenty years as I went into motorcycle racing education and instruction while traveling extensively. Used them sparingly for several years afterwards and in the Spring of ‘21 I retired and finally started finishing regularly again. I look at the new models with lust in my eyes but can’t justify spending what it takes to replace them for incremental improvements. Yes, they’re old, like me 😆
  2. Born and raised in Indiana so GO NOTER DAME, BEAT IU !!! 😆
  3. I did the same thing several years ago and reduced the collection to the most productive setups. All my G Loomis rods are original Gary Loomis IMX rods with the GLX being a 2016ish (Shimano) model. I believe this range covers any situation I encounter, although updated models would certainly be an upgrade (NRX+, IMX-Pro) in sensitivity and length. This collection covers every method and lure I fish, and do it well. Actually better than my abilities😏 GLX 804c JWR - 6’ 8” IMX 844c MBR H/F - 7’ IMX 843 CBR M/M - 7’ IMX 782c MBR M/F - 6’6” IMX 783c MBR MH/F - 6’6” IMX 781s ML/F - 6’6” Thats five casting rods and one spinning rod in my everyday arsenal. I find the MBR rods a better choice from a specific application rod as they more versatile. Truthfully the spinning outfit with one H, MH and JWR are typically the choices for a day out in the canoe. If taking five casting rods I usually replace the IMX 843 CBR rod with a KISTLER KLX Power 4 All Around MH/MF - 7’ as it throws a lager variety of crank/blade baits. The GLX 804 JWR is kind of redundant but it’s just such a great jig and Trig rod I hate leaving behind. I also have a backup E6X 843c MH/F - 7’ but rarely use it as it’s another MH/F with a bit less sensitivity than the IMX. My backup spinning rod is a 7’ Diawa Tatula M/XF with a Diawa Procyon 2500, but typically a garage queen (it’s a Diawa setup! 😂) I think it’s a wise decision to reduce the quantity of rigs for a smaller selection of quality rigs. It seems to make fishing easier.
  4. Received my package, no idea from whom (well kinda) but THANK YOU & MERRY CHRISTMAS!! …..waiting until Christmas to open and post up pictures 🎄
  5. Mine is going out in the morning.
  6. Got it and good to go! GO Army, Beat Navy!!!

  9. Let’s Get It On!!
  10. @Koz you’re just trading one headache for another. I just turned 70 and through the years have had too many boats to count from fishing pontoons, canoes, jon’s, deep V’s and Ranger bass boats and my current setup is the best,,,going forward. If you enjoy kayak fishing and tournaments you have a great setup now with all the equipment and accessories you’ve added, so I’d say enjoy it. Give it some time to become efficient and easy. You can chase perfection endlessly and end up poorer for it just to realize you had what you needed all along.
  11. I had said “Always” previously and that’s still true but 99% of the time it’s the small, old school split tail. The 1% is a small swim bait of the complimentary color, but very rarely.
  12. Fishing Erie we had just got back to the ramp with a couple nice smallies we were keeping. Pulled the boat in and tied up. I pulled the truck down and gave my brother-in-law a five gallon bucket so we could fill a cooler. Instead of filling it at the bottom of the ramp he was on the dock and as I walked back with the cooler I watched as he bent over, dipped in the bucket, filled it to the top and go face first into the water! Said he didn’t want to let go and lose the bucket 😂😂😂 To top it off as he stood naked by the truck putting on dry clothes a Coast Guard boat cruises slowly by on the channel with full crew on the railing shaking their heads. 😝😝 We still laugh at that one!
  13. I’ve used a wireless remote on my AP120 and felt it was a constant “fidget” to control speed and direction. I like the variable speed idea but think I would prefer a dial of some sort over the wireless. Thinking this may be an upgrade to my 55# Newport come this Spring. Thanks for the idea and information 👍🏼 Good luck with your project, remember KISS!
  14. Thank you. Very nice! So are you using a reostat dial or wireless remote? I’ve now watched a couple videos and most are using one or the other with the same Hobby Wing 880 solid state controller . Just depends on how you want to configure it. I assume you are still controlling direction by hand.
  15. Thank you for the video. Sooooo this rig has to be “built” as it’s fished, unless it’s done as a (say) flouro leader and attached to a main line which could be prerigged ahead of time? I like it!
  16. I’m sure at some point he’ll reply but you can always shoot him a PM. Pretty sure he’s up to his eyeballs in Christmas orders right now🎄 Is this assembly considered a grass jig, I assume. Can you call out the specific components?
  17. Tell me more……
  18. ++ ^^^^^^
  19. One of these everyday; Benchmade Auto Immunity Gerber Armbar Swiss Army Knife Compact
  20. It look familiar to my 1956 Tee-Nee I did add 12” wheels as the 8’s are just to small.
  21. I have the same Bullnose on my 55 # trolling motor. is that Tee-Nee trailer?
  22. Water and air temps in the low 40’s is enough for me
  23. Improve my jig fishing and standings in local kayak tournaments. Golf less and fish more
