  1. Anything within 2 hours is my range, which gives me several lakes and river access. My go to is 15/20 minutes from the house to the parking area but is limited to a shortish wading area. Outside of that it’s 4 hours and that’s not a daily trip I want to make.
  2. I have two neighbors within a half mile, kinda know one young family with young kids. The other I never see but hear him target shooting once a month or so. My golf buddies don’t fish and my only fishing buddy moved to an adjoining state. When we fished we would just fish, no conversation for hours on end and we both enjoyed the quite. Having had about every kind of fishing boat in the past I now want a kayak to fish the river close to me, by myself which is fine.
  3. Since selling my boat I bank/wade fish. Recently have been seriously considering a Kayak. I know nothing about the operation or methods but have a nice small river really close I wade and would love to be able to fish more of it in a day.
  4. I agree with @FrnkNsteen, Honey Creek in south Central Indy is awesome and we are fortunate that there are many many small independent tackle shops throughout Indiana in any direction. By no way has the bigger box stores muscled them out.
  5. Wow, just wow! Wearing a PFD any time the boat is under power is just common “fishing” sense. I don’t wear one when using the trolling motor but always when using the big motor. The guy was lucky someone else was on the lake near him.

  7. I believe just site involvement works. There are as many baits and techniques as there are fisherman. There are endless videos, books and magazines on any fishing topic you would ever consider. Another one is redundant. Experience makes the difference but being able to impart wisdom without seeming arrogant or a salesman for a product is difficult. I have a family member who fishes professionally but owns and operates a sporting good business with a young child. He is good, but prefers his “daily life” over chasing the limelight. Having a conversation with him reveal’s ideas to methods and techniques that I overlook. Recommending a bait over a company is easy to do. Being just “another guy” sitting around the campfire is where real connections are made. Join in, offer opinions, joke around and just be a fisherman would be nice from a paid professional.
  8. Ok, whatever the reason I spent $6.35 more than “in the cart” price. Might have been tax, extra fee or whatever it was but it’s not a deal breaker for me. I still saved over $50. by ordering through Digitaka than from stateside vendor. And PayPay still has the best no-hassle money backed guarantee online. I’ve only used PayPal business account since 1998 and have never had an issue with them or their policies. Which I can’t say for banks, credit card services or online vendors. Especially StealBay. Personal experience makes all the difference.
  9. Ordered a SLX reel and some line from Digitaka on Saturday and received it today! Paid same price as listed at checkout through PayPal. No price increase here. I like PayPal because of their insurance policy, and I’ve had to use it. edit: Just checked and I did pay $6.35 more than cart price but PayPal listed it as exchange rate difference between when I purchased and when it actually was charged to my account. No going to stress it at all. The 3 day shipping was worth that!
  10. I signed up, did I win???
  11. My OCD…. I buy eightyteen exact baits in different colors because I caught a bass on one………a month ago. Don’t even get me started on plastics ?
  12. Don’t know who started it but I saw JH tie it in the late 80’s/early 90’s when Spectra made the scene. It was the first knot I found for braid that actually worked. I use it because it’s a “feel” knot, can tie by feel in low light or on spinners at night without looking. Always called it the Jimmy Knot. It flat out works. Also I do use the Palomar with fluro on small bait hooks and the uni for braid to leader.
  13. On every bait, hook and lure.
  14. Going to use it for small stream (trout) fishing light weight grub type plastic and jigs. I have a light weight spin set up for road runners and such plugs for pan fish. Just wanted something to throw in tight creeks and streams with small baits. You think the rod is workable for this set up with the SLX? like this
  15. Yeah this is my first dive into BFS and looking forward to it. Although I do have a very OCD, 100% all in obsessive personality so it may end badly
  16. Ordered from Digitaka in #5 https://www.varivas.fishing/product/super-trout-advance-sight-edition-2/
  17. About every combo is spooled with braid. With moving baits it’s straight braid. Slow moving dragging baits I use a short FC leader.
  18. Just ordered a new SLX BFS reel from Digitaka with free shipping and no tax added. Great price too!
  19. Thank you. Couple issues for me is right handed, rod longer than what I’m looking for and a bit over my budget Nice set up!
  20. What rig is it? Might be interested. Looking for stream wading set up.
  21. Used to fish it quite often when we lived in Indy. Now in Martinsville so not so much anymore.
  22. Sorry, Charger line Actually they now sell the Phoenix line
  23. I’m thinking of picking up one of these https://www.ascendkayaks.com/detail.cfm?boatID=5657 Sorry, this one https://www.ascendkayaks.com/detail.cfm?boatID=5660
  24. Would that be West side Indy Eagle Creek?
