  1. I have never had much success with mono, let alone flouro on spinning gear. Started using this knot, super easy, super strong and super small braid to flouro (mono) knot. Works great with spinning gear and baitcaster. For me anyways ?
  2. Meh, mine are paid for!
  3. Reviving this old thread as I have 5 Curado Bantam CU-200 reels I have used since new in the early 90’s. However I now am in need of a spool for one as the brake housing has cracked and spit one of the brakes. I pulled the opposite side to make casting even, and it still works fine. I want to replace the whole spool assembly to get it back to new(ish) condition. So I’m on the lookout for a spool assembly if anyone has a spare parts reel willing to part with.
  4. Wife has an Outback along with a Titanium Escape in the garage. Company supplied the Outback AND the gas so a no brainer!
  5. 2019 F150 Supercab 4x4 bought new before the “gouging“ hit the fan. 3.3L six with 6 speed tranny @ 21-26 mph. All the rods in a rod bag go in the bed and tackle box/gear in the Decked drawers.
  6. Reels: Shimano Rods: G Loomis Kinda happened accidentally. Started with one, like the quality, feel and performance so bought another. Now I have six rigs with varying capabilities for different methods. Just now getting into BFS and the first three reels are Shimano SLX’s on three different JDM rods. I’m liking them so far. I like going with a proven system that works for me. P-Line and Power Pro lines fit that same idea too. Baits, anything that works but mostly Berkley, Zoom, Rapala and Z-Man.
  7. Saw this video and thought about this thread. Pretty nice conversion.
  8. But it does say something about the Honda motors, does it not.
  9. As I sit here watching the snow reading the post above,,,,,about snow
  10. My season pretty much ended yesterday too. Falling temps throughout the day which turned to snow overnight. Still a light snow falling and a much colder trend on the way. Not a great amount of fishing this year with even less success but in full anticipation of next Spring, when my new Kayak arrives. Probably spend the winter getting beat over the head by the bait monkey, because resistance is futile! Hoping for a few days of warm up to hit the river again.
  11. I watch them all, well I have them on the tube so it’s more like background music, listening but not paying attention. Fishing playing quietly in the background is less obtrusive than the blather of the day, poorly conceived sit-coms and game shows. I’m usually on websites about fishing or watching utube videos of fishing. I grew up with Ray Scott, Roland Martin, Jimmy Huston, Hank Parker and Mr. Dance giving me new “tips and tricks” so having fishing on tv is an ordinary thing for me. Other than sports I don’t watch much tv. I don’t tweeter, faceplant , instantlygram or clicktok so the tube(s) is my entertainment when not in the garage, on the golf course or the river.
  12. Was on the river today and got skunked. Pretty nice weather, warmish water but just low. Had two blow ups on a too water clacker but nothing else. Still fun!
  13. That’s my set up on my BFS baitcasters. Although I go straight to the lure with moving baits without the floro leader. I’ve been using the Power Pro moss green but man, it’s hard to see when wade fishing!
  14. A little time on the river today with my helper
  15. I consider “value” as to risk of losing a bait too. A $10.00 crankbait is a braid bait as opposed to a $.60 ned rig! But once again both fall into either the moving or dragging categories, for me.
  16. Anything that swims or moves, straight braid. Anything that soaks or drags, braid to flor leader.
  17. I’m with you @J Francho I had a race motorcycle with carbon fiber wheels and body components. I put it down (more than once) and it took a beating. With the right composition it’s pretty strong material.
  18. I like the magnet latches are nice since weight isn’t an issue.
  19. It is a nice rig and the weight is absolutely genius. If you can afford it, money obviously isn’t an issue.
  20. Collecting the “essentials “ I can now add the Wilderness Kayak Cart to the list. Got a good deal on it so couldn’t resist! Just the Lithium 100ah battery left on the list, now to save my pennies!
  21. Sooooooooooo?
  22. I found this hack to outstanding! On another note ”The guy I got it from says he wants to stick with his boat, and the guy he got it from, he doesn't know why he sold it......but claims it's his "buddy" so idk..... Whatever. ” I’d check the serial number with Old Town to see if it is, ummmmmm,,,,,,,,,un warm
  23. I do own a 6x10 utility trailer that I can use, if I wish but just don’t see it as necessary, for me. Now, I may put it on the trailer if I want to do a motel/tent camp overnighter to a nice lake/river with ramp access several hours from the house but I feel that would be very limited. Those type of fishing trips I usually take the camper which would require putting it on the topper. But I totally get the trailer ease of use, mobility and storage benefits.
  24. I can understand that but there’s no way I will pull a kayak trailer along with my camper. There will be no Kayak trailer in my future! Two methods; truck bed when local, topper when traveling with the camper.
