  1. Sounds like a nice rig, well thought out.
  2. My main four set ups are old greenies, Curado Bantam 200’s so I decided to move in to a bit of modern technology. Having already a Kistler series 100 reel on a KLX rod I went with a 200 series this time for my IMX GLoomis jig setup. Any line recommendations, besides braid? Foolish or fantastic. We’ll see.
  3. Which rod did you go with? What reel did you pair it with? What line did you decide on?
  4. Love all of it! The Wife couldn’t believe they had our Sportspal in Japan!
  5. #3 Weather conditions tell me more about fish location, thus telling me presentation and lure choices, thereby telling me how big and how many I’ll catch.
  6. The Phenix Feather C71L is what I recently bought to pair with my Shimano SLX for a BFS set up. The Feather throws small poppers, pond magic spinnerbaits, and 1/4 oz chatter baits and crank baits with ease along with 1/8oz blade bait with trailers on 10# Power Pro braid. Extremely pleased with this setup .
  7. But that’s not Nashville or the Country artists. Most of it today is pop (as evidenced by Bouncy) wearing cowboy hats which is sure not Country.
  8. WOW! No wonder Nashville dis’d her. The song isn’t too awful but nowhere near Country and the video is ridiculous junk. my $.02
  9. Many, many years ago I put on a brand new 1/2oz Spinnerbait on a brand new reel, with brand new 12# mono. Let the spinner fall from the rod tip and the drop speed was about right, I thought. Reared back and flung it for tomorrow and Wham!, the Spinner went flying, snapped off with the sudden complete stop of the reel. I looked in amazement as my brand new lure hit the water, looked down and saw a full spool nest sticking out from every possible opening. Looked over at my fishing buddy and he was rolling with laughter! That was the last time I ever used mono on a baitcaster.
  10. In the grand scheme of things, fishing aint that important. edit: Making memories is
  11. Maybe not in your world
  12. I feel the whole conversation for me is cost. It’s expensive. Younger folks can’t afford it, or their families, or their school or their club. Does that make them less of an angler even with tangible targeting skill? I don’t believe so. But it does put them at a disadvantage to lesser skilled anglers whom know how to use FFS and can afford it. I think it’s leading to, like many other sports, those with “means” will excel and those with less financial opportunity will,,,,,,work at the marina. Has nothing to do with ability. It’s become an honest cheat.

  14. I switched to This line in 12# with 8# floro leader and have been really pleased throwing tiny neds, weightless creature baits and hair jigs on a 7’1” Phenix Feather MLF rod with a 500 reel. Could go to 8# but would never use it on a 3000 reel as it’s getting towards throwing thread.
  15. My Nephew is a Pro fisherman and multiline bass boat dealer. He has a $100,000 custom Phoenix boat with $40,000 worth of electronics on it (to Hank Parker’s point). Huge big screens, dual FFS, DI/SI, auto GPS waypoint plotting and every type of fish finding equipment you can get for both he and his co angler. Didn't make the cut in a tournament in Florida this past weekend. Before you say he’s a bad fisherman, he IS a sponsored Professional and has been for near twenty years. He can flatout fish! His Wife made the point that maybe he should go back to spending a little more time on FISHING and not watching expensive tv’s 😃 Skill counts I agree
  16. Build your own
  17. Watching the Bassmaster’s today I was thoroughly disappointed by the side by side split screen showing Justin Hamner’s FFS screen while he was watching it. It’s a blob of squiggles pulsing in color that means zero to me, but he understands it. But why would I watch a guy watch tv while watching his tv on a split screen showing him watching tv. If it’s allowed, then fine but don’t expect folks to tune in to see this boring trype. It suked……never did see him catch a fish under a dock but saw a lot of glowing tv color.

  19. Probably better off posting in Fleal Market An online swap meet to sell or trade used items. found on the main page. Tennessee got a good win tonight!
  20. Thanks Mike, the spinnerbait is beautiful!
  21. I don’t have this particular jacket/bibs but all my Frogg Togg gear has been totally waterproof and good quality. No complaints. This does look like a good deal.
  22. Everything left hand retrieve . Since mid 80’s. I’m right handed and never saw the reasoning to throw right handed and then switch to reel right, just never made sense. A wasted move to me.
