  1. I own a 100 on my 5’6” pistol grip bladed jig rod and a 200 on a Kistler KLX 4MH and really like both over the Lew’s speed spools. They are smooth and cast quite far. Excellent price right now! However, I unfortunately paid full price Was going to get another 200 but all they have is right handed,,,,which is totally wrong 😃
  2. I guess I’m the odd idiot out. I fill the whole spool with new line and use it until the casting distance suffers, then replace it. Now that being said, everything is filled with braid which last for years. I don’t use clear line as mono ruined that for me many, many years ago. Until this Spring. For the first time ever I’m switching to Yozuri T7 fluro and Sunline Shooter fluro on all of my reels (6) to see if I like it. I plan on filling the spool full and then when I replace the line I’ll go half spool with the new line, using the old as backer. Spinning will remain braid to leader as usual. I know, I know,,,wasteful but my reels only hold 130ish yards so using a 150 yard spool isn’t a big deal and it leaves leader line.
  3. Very nice but now your out of the kayak tournament game. Enjoy!!
  4. Great event for kids! HoneyCreekTackle Anyone joined, or fishing any GRBY events? I’m going to fish the Southeast region events this year and interested to see if any Hoosiers are joining in. Only cost is the tournament themselves which has payback.
  5. I live in the same State and have never had an issue with delays or shipping but,,,,,,,,, I did have one instance where my refund for a rod took several weeks, and several emails and finally a call. After the call it was 24 hours when the refund showed up. Always wondered why it took so long and so many attempts, but I did receive it. I personally don’t believe they are dishonest, just operating on a shoe string and spread thin. I now either go in person and/or call first to confirm stock, delivery and payment details for future purchases which isn’t possible for most. However a simple phone call can solve a lot of issues prior to pushing “buy”. And always buy through PayPal, they will go to bat for you with disputes and get your money refunded.
  6. Awesome deal, congrats! Enjoy the freedom.
  7. I totally agree with @Koz Get a pedal kayak that you can add a motor to and have the best of both worlds
  8. I think the decision would be between pedal and power. If content with loading into the truck I’d opt for the pedal power. If wanting something faster then a motorized kayak is the solution, but then you’re adding additional expense (motor, battery, trailer) and complexity. Personally, I found my OT Autopilot 120 to be a hassle, heavy and cumbersome. Spotlock was nice(ish) but not an end all do all option as any motor is not “hands free” at all. There’s the constant push button remote control which seemed to be in my hand constantly. Cruising a bank with the motor and using foot control to steer was simple but the constant simple adjustments always required the remote in hand. Spotlock was great, if you don’t mind a constant repositioning motor whirling around. In strong current or high wind it was a plus when fighting fish but otherwise, mehhhh. If going power a rheostatthrottle control would be a better option than a remote. The only true hands free propulsion is pedal power and instant reverse is a spotlock! All in all I wish I would have went with a pedal power (OT 106) for the overall expense savings and a better fit to the majority of my fishing. After selling the AP I went with a Sportspal canoe ($150 facecrook deal) which paddles easier than my kayak, faster, way more room with a larger carrying capacity and at 60# much lighter. I have recently added a 55# thrust trolling motor with LifePo4 battery for the longer runs and bigger waters which only adds 10 minutes to launching time but still not used all the time as it paddles very well. Anyhow, if wanting something bigger with power go big and get a trailer. If you like compact, fast and efficient go paddle, the less expensive route.
  9. Yes, it was there yesterday. Good deals go quickly.
  10. Nice selection at good prices at ALF fishing This KLX would fit the bill nicely
  11. Great excuse for a new outfit. Things like that happen when out in nature. Reminds me of a time my brother-in -law and I went to Florida fishing. He bought a brand new cast net so we could catch our own bait and save a few bucks. I said I’d give it the first try and proceeded to toss the net, opening nicely fifteenth feet into the ocean, watching it sink forever out of sight! I had not tightened the wrist strap and the whole shebang went flying, lost forever. To this day we still laugh about it and he never lets me forget what a great cast net tosser I am. I did buy a new net but we never did catch any bait. Fishing experience can be funny at times, and painful at others.
  12. I found the cheap ones a to be a PITA. No tip protection, guides pushing through the sleeve, sizing all over the place and don’t even get a hook caught in them! I replaced all my covers with These Excellent quality, tip protector, replaceable threaded reel cord, rubberized guide collar and perfect sizing. The best I have found and the price isn’t too bad considering the quality. PLUS THEY FLOAT!
  13. Being raised around farms, cattle & corn country I’ve watched cattle all my life and they truly do react to barometric pressure and oncoming rain activity. Horse’s on the other hand typically respond to food! As @12poundbass statement is correct as weather usually doesn’t effect their behavior much, unless it’s tornadoes then they run for cover. Like most of us.
  14. I rate it a 6/7 Pretty good song, but he’s got his country wrong! Fish do bite when the cows lay down, which is typically a sign of an approaching storm, and the bite is much better. Don’t know where he fishes……..
  15. Love this combo!
  16. Dollar Bill wins by 3 ounces!! Awesome job Hoosier!
  17. Thank you! These new use for you or have you used this system previously?
  18. Watching Lowen fish and Przekurat ride around watching tv demonstrates the difference in era’s of fishing. I personally prefer the fishing approach
  19. Good looking baits. Brand? They look fat, are they flat sided?
  20. Unfortunately I feel very guilty about most of my online gear and tackle purchases. My niece and nephew own one of the best family owned boat, gun and tackle shops in the State, outside of Bass Pro. However I do buy online at times as they’re prices are msrp + usually and the “preferred customer discount “ brings them down to msrp on most items. I totally get it, they can’t compete with the national chains but do the best they can to remain competitive with periodic sales and bundle deals but not on a daily, or weekly basis. Adding to the fact they are an hour from me I have to put together my wants and needs before making the trip and try to arrange it around the sale times. They have a great website but it’s just advertising for the boats, guns and hunting gear and nothing can be ordered unless you know exactly what the items are you want, then you add full price postal shipping to the price. An itemized fishing department would make it way easier but don’t know if the online sales would be worth the extra effort. Now that being said they don’t really make their bills on packs of worms or spinnerblades. The boats (Phoenix, Icon & Vexus), guns and big ticket archery items are where the money is made. I do prefer to buy local at brick and mortar shops but mega deal pricing makes it difficult.
  21. They lost me when the tv cameras were watching the anglers watching tv 🫣 turned it to the diy channel and watched paint drying.
