  1. Well, let's see here. Seven division championships, six conference championships, three BCS National Championship appearances (one win), and two Heisman trophies in this decade. You're right! Why would anyone want him? And in all those bowl appearances he could never beat an SEC opponent. : I love the way SEC guys always talk so highly about their conference! Go ahead and pick one team and stick to it already!
  2. I used a David Fritts crankin reel for a couple of years and it was a great, inexpensive reel. I later opted for a higher end reel only because I was doing an insane amount of deep cranking and I thought I needed to upgrade.
  3. It's flat and shaped something like this. There's something about it I just don't like.
  4. I got a new Stradic FI and I don't like the handle. Something about it just feels awkward to me. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement handle?

  6. I'd scrounge up another $10.00 and get a Shimano Sedona. I received a Sedona for my birthday in 1997 and that reel is still in use.
  7. I have the Revo S, STX, Premier, and Winch and I love them all. I haven't really had any problems any of them.
  8. I'm using a Chronarch 100bpv. I believe it's a 5.1:1 ratio.
  9. I broke a rod throwing a heavy swimbait on medium heavy flipping stick. That was my way of learning things the hard way.
  10. This is my set up: Gblanks 7'11" XH/F Curado 300E7 BPS 20lb flouro I agree with the Cardiff 300 since you're trying to stay around $100. I had one for a long time and it's a great reel for the price.
  11. My new house has a koi pond in the back yard. I think I'll start with a Texas rig!
  12. There is more to it than weight reduction. The fact is, the more exposed blank you have, the better the rod will transmit vibration. That means a no front/split grip handled rod will be more sensitive than a traditional handled rod.
  13. My thoughts exactly!
  14. Gblanks 6'9" MH/Fast Abu Garcia Revo Premier 12 lb Stren mono
  15. I've had a couple of them. The first was a Team Diawa rod and I now have a Kistler Argon. I really liked them both.
  16. The thing is with my Shimano Stradic 3000 I get the the frame of a small to medium size spinning reel with the performance upgrades that comes from using a reel with a large spool. To quote Van Halen I get the " best of both worlds", all I can say is I've used both and I won't go back. The great thing about the time we are in with the technological advances made with fishing reels the last few years is that we can get reels with high line capacity without the weight and bulk, a great example is with some of the new low profile baitcaster likes the Curado where the same trend has been applied. I understand that, Primas. But in the original post, Zelmo was wanting a 2500 but considering a 1000 and people started suggesting up to a 4000. I will admit that I haven't handled all those reels, but I can't imagine a rod that would accept both 1000s and 4000s and be balanced.
  17. Good luck with the Certate, Zelmo. You will like it!
  18. A new trolling motor!
  19. This whole discussion about big reel vs small reel is killing me. Shouldn't you first pick the rod and then choose a reel size that fits/balances nicely on the rod. Big reels go on big rods. Small reels go on small rods. Am I missing something?
  20. Catt posted this in another thread. I thought it was a pretty good article. http://www.crankbaitcentral.com/FeatureArticles/Cranking-Bass-on-Deep-water-Structure-The-Paul-Elias-Way-(Part-II).html
  21. What reel are you using on your c-rig. The guy who introduced me to the c-rig many years ago told me that I needed a reel with a low gear ratio. I use the c-rig a lot and I'm very comfortable with my gear, so I have no intention of changing. But lately I've read several articles suggesting high speed reels for c-rig. Just curious about what everyone else is using.
  22. Zelmo, if you're not in a rush (and since this thread was started in August, I don't think you are) I have a new in the box Stradic mgfb 2500 that I can make you a good deal on. I bought two of them on clearance for $129.95 each and I'm only using one. The second one didn't really fit the rod I had intended it for. Now I need to sell it so I can afford the reel I need. The only problem is you'll have to wait until I get in from Iraq next week. P.M. me if you're interested.
