  1. The guarantee is that it will pull chicks, not catch fish ?
  2. MLF timed this derby perfectly, I agree with you, if this thing was in July it would be a totally different story. I'm glad MLF picked this time frame, lake's not gonna show out any better than right now.
  3. LET'S FREAKING GO KATIE! That's a daygum stud, a slaunchasaurus, a true magnificent Maine specimen! Congrats friend, I knew you were going to break your PB early this fishing season, and I expect you to break it again in due order.
  4. Baseball is funny, ATL is riding high right now after 5 straight come from behind wins. Credit where credit is due, but those games could have easily gone the other way. Their schedule against good teams thus far isn't great, isn't terrible. They lost 2/3 to the worst team in MLB a week or two back. I'm a Braves guy, but to me they aren't healthy and firing on all cylinders. The Dodgers are better right now in the NL imho. Acuna is the best player in baseball this year by a huge margin. I'm at the point to where I just enjoy the games until about August, when teams finally show there finally form. The Braves from 21, the Philles last year, the Nats in 19. Doesn't matter how good or bad you are right now as long as you make the post season. The best team changes at least monthly if not weekly in many divisions including the NL East. All I know is the Braves have had some really exciting wins lately, and that's the real reason why I love the Braves and baseball. It's a commitment, you spend hours hoping for a payoff. It's like big Bass fishing.
  5. With Fried, and Wright healthy, they're in the top 3 odds wise to win the WS. As it stands today though I can't say that in good conscience. They're a good team right now, but not great imho.
  6. Recently fished out of buddies 2014 921.......was an amazing boat, can only imagine what a new one is like. Congrats, that's an epic ride.
  7. Man I really let the monkey take the wheel on this deal, it's almost too pretty to fish with, but atlas it will see the water within 30mins ? KGB TSG colorway 019
  8. Dude now that's epic, how was even hung up with the keeper still on ?
  9. I store my Armajoint in a plano. I just make sure that the tail doesn't ever touch any other plastics. I've got a Trace, but don't fish it so it's still in the OEM box. The Armajoint ships with that tail protector as well, could always just leave it on. I did for months until recently.
  10. One of the gucci club members that makes me jelly ? Are the Bassday those two almost lipless looking baits?
  11. For folks like us, we're always thinking about the Bass's health the moment it hits our hands, it's a blessing and a curse......known plenty of CnR anglers that were oblivious to Bass biology, or the future view of a fishery in terms of fishery and Bass health....they just got to enjoy catching fish, seemed nice lol. It's hard to rationalize my empathy for the Black Bass, I seemingly have more empathy for a fish than many humans, but then I like most dogs and cats more than people as well. A single dead Bass has me CSI:Vegas out there ?
  12. Listen to the inflection in his voice the last 30seconds......that fish humbled him. Amazing to watch the best in the world get the same humbling feeling in the presence of a truly special Bass. One of the most amazing drugs on the planet.
  13. Man that part of NY is stunningly beautiful, awesome fish on that spinnerwidget! I don't know what causes that mouth rash, but some fish I've caught recently have had it as well. Likely just seasonal, these fish are so beat up after spawn, I assume it's just from either gorging themselves or from the actual toll of finishing up the spawn.
  14. All I know is that once Channels get to be close or over 10lbs, they are absolute escape/break off artists even on Bass gear. On my big swimbait setup I've muscled a 9lb+ in easily, but anything else is 50/50. They stole about about $40 in JDM cranks from me last Fall...12lb Fluoro and 14lb mono. Ironically I got a 10+ last Fall on 8lb stren and a spinning setup fishing for Crappie ? My problem is that I don't recognize them being Cats quick enough, and if there is a single log, laydown, rock, anything.....that Channel is 100% of the time running for it. They are really smart in this regard.
  15. SMs are vastly easier to catch on bed. A number of the pros have already talked about it. In general, SMs and Spots are just much more aggressive fish, I do believe they are easier to catch than LGMs, especially pure FLGMs.
  16. @T-Billy proved to me this was just something rednecks in the South believe ? I'd be Muskie guy if I lived up north, wanted to catch one of those dinosaurs my whole life. I used to read North American Fisherman as a kid, and they loved to do segments on Muskies.
  17. I make the Musky connection in my head most days out that are dedicated to chunking a big bait.....the whole remember this is a "fish of a thousand casts" deal. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that when you drop $60 on a single lure, you're going to fish that thing much harder until you put it down than a $5 jig you just bought. It's not hard to keep fishing these expensive baits when you go through all the trouble and spend all the money on one of them. Big Swimbaiting and Fly Fishing are quite similar in my eyes, most days there will perhaps be a better, easier way to catch them, but nothing will bring the level of excitement and anticipation as a big bait. Both are just so different than traditional forms of fishing. Both have developed their own sub communities.
  18. Ironic considering his last win came because of FFS. Shows the prowess of his angling abilities.
  19. God rewards those who protect his flock! Church security is so important in the world we live in, thanks for doing it!
  20. No doubt, if these fish had any size to them, they'd take over fisheries.
  21. Coosa/Alabama Spotted Bass Meanest fish I've ever seen in either fresh or saltwater.
  22. Absolutely amazing bait. Hundreds of followers, about 50 fish caught, half a dozen fish at or over 5lbs. Big fish was a few weeks ago at 7lbs even. I started to burn and pause it, and the fish have come unglued on the thing. Once that water got past 80, they wanted it burned. It's just awesome.
  23. I could never pick a single rod, it's whatever caught the last 5lb+ fish. They're all special depending on the bait/time of year. For reels, much easier. The new JDM Zillions. I've got an older Steez and the older flagship Shimano, the Calais 100a, amazing reels.....but sadly reels aren't timeless like good rods imho. In a year or two if I raise my budget, I'm sure I'll say a Steez SV TW. Reels just get better and better. For now though between the Zillion SV TW and HD TW......they can handle 95% of anything you'd want to throw.
  24. Hinkles are a lot more than $300, and Milliken only in part won the Toledo Bend Bassmaster Open because of it, he credits the C-Rig as doing the majority of the heavy lifting. That said, lots of Elite/BPT guys have used these high dollar glides to weigh in fish in major finishes......cheap ones like the Arashi have even in part won events for Brandon Palaniuk, however as recently as the Elite series stop at Lay Lake a few weeks back, he was using some high end custom glide I couldn't ID. A Trick Shad that I mentioned above helped take 3rd this year at Redcrest by Evers. Jacob Wall used a Chad Shad IIrc heavily in Guntersville BPT last event to take 3rd again IIrc. They have always been used, before these it was other big baits like when Steve Kennedy boated mega bags and won at Clear Lake in the early 2000s
  25. Nice, think there were only 120 or less. Tried last week, and now I'm real thankful I didn't get it, and instead got this colorway. There is a Trick Shad drop tonight, but I just can't do it lol.
