  1. I suspect the opinions would be different if folks had wives, sisters, mothers, gfs, etc. in your situation. It's easy to be enlightened from a 10,000ft view, don't beat yourself up.......society should never accept rapists.
  2. There's a good reason why companies won't hire convicted sex offenders, and that's because the rate of recidivism is ridiculously high, and if said offender victimizes another employee/customer you can pretty much count on being sued into oblivion and bankruptcy. I'd really question the mngt. at your company, especially if they have females working around this individual.
  3. Some crimes are unforgiveable in my book, the only problem I have is that our justice system is very far from perfect, and innocent outliers exist. Personally speaking I'm not working with a rapist, murderer, or pedophile. I don't blame you for not wanting to work around a person who raped a young woman. I personally don't think you can "serve your time" with some crimes and our current clown world justice system. Tough spot legally speaking though I'm sure.
  4. Looks great to me, I fish 2-3ft of Viz this time of year so I need a bit darker color, but I bet that works great. eta; for the days when they key in on that small bait, you could even cut the side arms off and it looks like a Shad profile with a spunk shad style kick.
  5. I should say the Ribbits are like that, you got to be pretty perfect with the spacing or the fat weight come out on top or bottom, the Big Bait Bite Tourney Toads? have a great body that doesn't require the perfection, however the stupid legs get caught in the hook so often. eta: Really it's just a confidence thing, if you like the setup you are using or feel it's getting bite well, stick with it. Going back to my original point, I think the great options for a Buzzer trailer are huge as the fish don't really key that heavily on that aspect imho.
  6. Yeah I got them in all sizes for Jackhammers and MiniMaxs so last Spring I tried it out and it worked out really well. Any other time of the year and I'm generally trying to go with a more compact profile however like those standard size frogs from Stanley or Big Bite Baits even though I don't prefer those. You really got to use the big Spunk Shads to clear the hook and internal weight I found.
  7. Here it is in action 6.3lb on a Dirty Jigs Buzzbait - YouTube I like the 3.5" Ribbits in Blue Gill if I had to pick one.
  8. If you got a pool, run your buzzbaits and glide baits in them. Something I learned from Kevin Brightwell of KGB Swimbaits. He tunes the baits in a pool and found the chlorine in the water makes the baits extra squeaky....and all my KGB baits are very squeaky.
  9. @Eric 26 😁
  10. National debt is 33 Trillion with a Trillion added alone in the last calender year......pretty soon you'll just be putting Monopoly money in those machines and I doubt people will be angry then.
  11. Those are my favorite Buzzbaits...the Dirty Jigs Scott Canterbury models but in the 3/8-1/2oz sizes. Got about 4 of them and I've never really cared how the bait runs as long as it's buzzing right. I use 5.5" Spunk Shads in the spring, and then use Stanley Frogs and a few others that I'm trying to eat up post spawn until winter. I honestly don't think the fish are that much interested in whatever is dangling or the orientation of it. It's such an un-natural presentation to me that I don't sweat the realism nuances. Just my opinion. I have a hate/love relationship with every single lure I've ever fished outside of the Z-Man Flashback Mini with an Armor Shad and spot of super glue. If I had to survive based on what I catch, that's the only lure I'd throw.
  12. You'll be extremely happy, and life is too short not to treat yourself once in awhile! Excited for you, hope you catch a toad on it 😎
  13. I feel like fools, children, and Crappie fisherman all have an edge on me when pursuing DD+ fish......I have no idea why I buy $25 Jerkbaits and $38 FC 🤔🤣
  14. While I'm a long term user of P lIne, Sunline and Seaguar options......the new Shimano Mastiff might actually offer something new to the game that addresses one of the biggest cons of FC. The line has "ridges" that allows better knot tying. " In addition to being smooth and supple, Mastiff possesses superior binding strength compared to other fluorocarbon lines. While the surface is completely smooth running parallel to the length of the line, Shimano engineers devised a unique nano-surface processing technology called NANOARMOR®, which creates ridges across the outer surface of the line so slight they’re undetectable by human fingertips or eyes. This extremely fine application of concave and convex textures on the outermost layer of the line helps prevent knot-slipping when fighting large fish. Similarly, this minimizes slippage and breakage when using common bass angling techniques like twitching, jerking, and casting large lures." Also recently became a huge fan of Daiwa J Samauri Hidden Concept, best jerkbait line I've found by a significant margin.
  15. Yeah the NPFL had a winner this year DQ'd because he didn't have a fishing license.....imagine losing a $100k over a fishing license.
  16. Good points, but they could simply draw up guidelines for those items that fall in compliance of state/fed laws, or better every derby follows the state laws it's in.....so for example when they fish in Alabama, they could use 5 hooked A-Rigs. Limit trolling to a single line in the water, etc. They already do this now with a bunch of things.....you can't have a rod over 8' IIrc.
  17. Since spooling up new 21 Zillion SV TW and 22 Zillion HD TW reels more than a year ago, I can honestly say I've never touched the Zero Adjust dial. I think it's a fantastic design change to make the dial more out of the way and less prone to accidental adjustments. They might have some really stupid sounding marketing names, but the refinement and tech are very much real in my usage.
  18. The new Daiwa flagship Steez will have an MSRP of 77,200yen or $513.07 in JDM dollars 😁 Steez SV TW100 (Reel)|DAIWA Like I said in the Steez thread, I can almost promise the new Steez SV TW won't be twice the reel that the 21 Zillion SV TW is, but there is something special about fishing the flagship reels from Shimano or Daiwa. The level of refinement, and attention to detail is off the charts even though the performance runs into the law of diminishing returns.
  19. Man I'd love to see the ban on trolling lifted. I'll never understand that rule outside of maybe banning it simply because it's boring to watch. Takes as much skill to troll as anything imho. You can learn so much more about Bass by trolling as well. It will remain to boggle my mind that FFS is legal all the while trolling and A-Rigs are illegal. If only the A-Rig, and trolling had a multi billion dollar company backing them 😆
  20. It's in the name if it was in fact a MEAN MOUTH.....I got a mean mouth on me sometimes, try getting it to close when it's mean 🤣😁😂
  21. I find it ironic and tragic as a big Bass fan that all the places that are capable of growing a 25lb FLGM fish are either trying to destroy, or already have destroyed the Bass fisheries. 1.) SoCal- Gov't and environmental conditions killed the greatest big Bass producer in history. 2.) Lake Biwa, Japan- Gov't policies and fishing pressure has significantly diminished the lake however just yesterday I watched a video from a local and owner of Signal baits that he saw a fish on bed last year that was a WR. 3.) South Africa, a number of "Dams"- Same as Japan, deemed an invasive species and every fish is culled. To my knowledge sadly FL, TX, nor Mexico has the true climate to produce 20lb+ fish, but an outlier could always spring up from those places, and at least in TX, and FL they have a friendly Gov't towards Bass policies. Guatemala is another country that had the potential but ended up doing the same thing as the above places deeming them invasive species.
  22. That's a magnificent fish, wish I could fish N AL. and S. TN during the Falls......sucks for the most part in terms of LGMs down here or anywhere else, but those big brown fish seem to really chew up there in the Fall. That's when I got my PB SM below Wheeler Dam. I'd be right back there tomorrow 😎
  23. Awesome fish brother! Wonder what that 23" fish weighed, relative weight chart says between 5 and 6lbs. Imagine it was your friend's SM PB. That's a daygum stud fish. Old fish too. ETA: The more I look at that big girl, the more it looks like a Meanmouth, is this just me? It's pretty like a Meanmouth 😁
  24. Yeah I've watched that video before, pretty wild. Josh Jones in a recent interview talked about the big Bass he's seen die on O.H. Ivie, he contributes a number of them to being hauled around in livewells. I want to return the fish to their "homes".......not dump them all together some place 5 miles from where they were caught, most likely near a boat launch. Doug Hannon used to dunk trophy sized bass in an aerated cooler with Sure Life or similar, but immediately released them. Personally speaking, I'm not willing to risk killing big fish just for a social media post.
  25. Yes sir daddy-o, I'm in for one. I got the OG Steez, my prized fishing possession knock on wood, it makes me as happy today fishing with it as it did in 07. I'm sure it won't be twice the reel a 21 Zillion SV TW is, but fishing a Steez makes you feel special, there I said it 😆
