  1. What's the deal with security though, not only is that Mexico, it's the heartbeat of the narco trafficking state. Don't get me wrong, if I get a chance to go fish there, I would go during an active war lol but living there might be a different story. Awesome fish, I can see why you like the place haha
  2. You are a true Subject Matter Expert in this sub forum, I'd like to see members like yourself get a Icon or Badge in their avatar to denote that. Helps new members separate replies like mine from yours ? The "SME" badge works great on one of the gun forums I visit. Nobody gets one unless they are true expert in a field that pertains to the forum.
  3. Tried to post the link and now the post is hidden. Just google Mattlures.....first option
  4. SCORE!!!! You guys still count found lures even if their your own right ? Sad part is there's still a $15 Jackall, and a big fish swimming around with the same chatterbait setup as below when it wrapped me in this same mess. I keep throwing on it because I catch really nice fish on that piece of structure, but yesterday was the last time. I got $30 bucks back today, but that structure stills owes me another $25. Two of those baits have caught really big Bass, I'm superstitious so I couldn't rest until I at least tried. What I do is tie a bobber on the cut line so that it sits right below the surface, then come back with some tools.
  5. I looked up that website after I posted the lures, and was surprised to see them in business with lots more offering, and seemingly about the same price as 20 years ago. I'm going to try one of these out, they just look too much like the real thing.
  6. Someone will come along who can give the size of the battery that will work better for a Kayak. I just run my same sonar unit as yours on it's own group of 24 size battery, then bought a bigger group of 27 size battery for the 50lb trolling motor. Sounds like we got a similar setup. They make battery maintainers if you aren't using this battery daily, weekly, perhaps even monthly. I have no need as I use mine a bunch. I just have a charger, and always hook the battery up when I return fishing. Thankfully in fishing there are lots of "Gregs", many of this forum. You'll be a "Greg" in the future at some point to someone, and then you'll have repaid Greg's kindness fully
  7. Wow karma got me for laughing so much in this thread. I'm going out today with a tree saw, and a big hook to try to recover lures I've lost in the last week. I've lost more baits in a week than I had previously all year. Somebody in this thread would hit the jackpot on what I've lost this week. So mad at myself, equally embarrassed. Had a big fish wrapped me around the same underwater wood that I've lost two Crankbaits and another chatterbait......I'm thinking I'm done fishing that area if I can't make some progess with a big hook and tree saw. There is something that catches the lures and wraps them, they aren't getting hooked.
  8. South Florida....nothing compares. It has everything, and is the mecca for many species. That said, if I had all money in the world, I'd be building a Ray Scott style 50-100acre lake, and I'd be growing the next state and world record Bass.
  9. We're all repenting in the offseason however, and the Shift is being outcasted to the land of fire. The saints have also decided to give us a pitch clock.
  10. Absolutely and excellent idea. All the money I spent with that school, they should answer a stupid fish question ?
  11. I wondered if you could be prosecuted for that...the sirens in the background ironically were perfect. Wonder what specific law they broke, and if it's a felony. The monetary amount I imagine will determine that as I bet it's a form of theft/fraud, and given modern day tournaments, I'd bet they are facing felonies. Imagine being a felon for a fishing tournament, they deserve everything that gets thrown at them.
  12. Hot ballclub with some good arms, and a difference maker in center field, the AL is not nearly as tough as the NL. Wonder what their odds are to win the AL pendent, might be a good play. Many teams of recent year, most notable the Braves last year proved October is all about putting the lightning in the bottle. I'd never root for an AL team though personally, filthy thinking about it ?
  13. I have no clue I have a Southern accent until I land at a place like Vegas, and you'd think I was from Australia the way people react. If you were born and raised in the South, it's likely pretty hard to tell Southern accent dialects. They all sound like you lol. Pretty sure it's the same way Yankee accents are.....I can tell a person is from Boston, or New York much quicker than I can tell if someone is from Atlanta, or Birmingham. You can spot a Yankee accent a mile away down here, and I'd assume the same is true for a Southern one north of the Mason Dixon line. It's easy to forget how big America is, yet relatively united we still are. A thing like Bass fishing allows a Yankee and Southerner to share something so intimate only fellow anglers can relate to. I've also seen several Canadians, and today I saw a guy from the UK. Bass are that special
  14. Absolutely, and as bad as I just railed on the Mets, Kanley is perhaps the biggest liability b/t the two clubs. His blown saves are always against the big opponents.....Dodgers at home early in year, Cardinals in St. Louis, and the most epic disaster of them all, he blew the Seattle game recently. Those three games alone were ridiculous, and in one or two of them he had the max. run support you can have to record a save. I mean tonight he could have given up 4 with a bat swing. I'm not a manager, but he's lost the support of the crowd which I can't remember the Braves crowd doing in sometime. He got boo'd tonight in Atlanta which is a huge deal. I hope Brian heard those boos and ponders the closing role going forward.
  15. As a redneck in Alabama here are my thoughts after never seeing a Walleye tourney/video: What level of IQ must one have in order to weigh DEAD FISH at a tournament weigh in with weights in it's stomach....I mean you are literally a knife slice away from being caught ? I also find it sad because that's whatever circuit's AOY up until that point.....they were painted up like NASCARs, the sponsors and the circuit can't be thrilled about that. I would assume once you are caught cheating in fishing, you get the Pete Rose treatment.
  16. Man, I can't do another year of Will Smith, and Kanley is as bad if not worse.....Braves are trying to kill their fans at this point I'm convinced ? The Braves aside, and regardless of the outcome of NL East race, the Met's are in big trouble and I doubt they win a playoff series as it stands. Degrom has been the worst he's been since I can remember over the last several starts, then you got Max who is like Acuna with regards to missing starts and nagging injuries. Bassett is their best pitcher right now, and he's been their "stopper" over the last month. Those three are all they really have, and now two are struggling to cross the finish line. The Braves got some problems, but unlike the Mets they've been dealing with them from day 1. The Mets were somehow anointed after the first month even with their history lol.
  17. That code is truly an enigma, had one bite/fish today....worst day in a long time, if there is a code for days like ours, you're gonna be a billionaire ? Sounds like how I "Yo Yo" retrieve a chatterbait. Just slowly Yo Yo it, seems to drive fish crazy. I clicked this thread thinking "blade bait" was gonna be a chatterbait.
  18. A-Jay inspired me to try out the GoPro today. Fish had lockjaw to put it mildly, huge drop in pressure, and the wind shifted directions in last 24 hrs. Trying to document some parasites I'm finding on some fish, this fish had them, and I'd love if anybody could help me identify them, and how big of problem they pose. Never heard of beneficial parasite on Bass, but I'm really hoping that's the case. Lots of wildlife out today, and as promised, I present Hitler and Saddam Lastly, this is a perfect screen grab of what the Bass were doing today, just locked with their bellies in the mud, meanwhile bait is right above them, and you can see the Crappie blowing them up.
  19. Awesome fish, and friends! Maybe a dumb question, but are there Bass in the UK?
  20. Yeah those things sound good, and I think you got the right idea. Hopefully they cooperate for you tomorrow, good luck
  21. I bought an SLX at 50% off, then went in there two weeks ago and they were down to 30 something.....bet if they still have some they are like what you paid. Basically, free rods at that point. I just spent more money on two Chatterbait Mini Maxs than you did for a really nice rod.
  22. It's an inevitability in your case when I plug the numbers into my Bass calculator. You are too good of a Bass angler and spend to many hours fishing for it not to happen sooner rather than latter.....like Aaron Judge recently tying the AL HR record. I'm driving myself nuts trying to accomplish a fishing goal I've had my whole life currently, but I remind myself the harder and more frustrating the journey, the better the reward will be. LOL....only somebody who deals with Swans on the reg can relate. I'll snap a picture later today of Hitler and Saddam, the breeding pair on my home lake ? ETA: Those Yellow Perch are really beautiful fish. Kind of reminds me of Peacock Bass coloring. Bet they are tasty, that's what I've always heard at least.
  23. Sometimes it's not so much the noise that hurts you on a pressured lake, it's the bait's profile size. My first option is always downsize profile, not sound signature. With that in mind, a small Pop R would be my suggestion, and if that doesn't work, a small walk the dog type bait like a Zara Spook Puppy or Jr. that both reduces noise and size.
  24. You do catch big Bass for the record, and lots of them ? Can't wait until you get to use that new scale, I've got a good feeling tomorrow is the day you'll break it out.
  25. Wow that's really cool, and I wouldn't be surprised if Katie took down a record or two if she tried to do so. The female and line class records would likely be low hanging fruit for her. I can't imagine a more avid Basser, and she fishes such backwater places that could hide a big fish for years. These are things I dream about, that big fish living somewhere nobody accesses. I think it would cool to hold at least one IGFA WR.....it could be catching the biggest Bream on 2lb line for all I care ?
