  1. I'll guess I'll get my UGA memes ready for when Tennessee inevitably gets embarrassed in Athens ? You need to turn in your Southerner card in as well.
  2. Sad Diego VS Lone Star Cheaters This postseason has been slap full of meme magic, and the Padres caught the magic I'll take the Padres in 5
  3. 3 months ago I would have said a 6" Roboworm T Rigged or on a shakey head Today it would be a binder full of various Chatterbaits from a Flashback Mini to a Jack Hammer While the skunk will almost never stay on board with a Roboworm, these days I'm looking at catching the biggest LGM I can, and I feel besides huge swimbaits the Chatterbait gives me that ability.
  4. They look like those Maine Bass just lighter in color, he got into some of that Krazy Katie fishing ? Lol......that's what Katie said too. You'll be back, they always come back ?
  5. I have a thing where I won't weigh a fish if I think is under 5 for LGMs. I thought that looked like a 5lb fish. Congrats on the pig, 5lbs is a fantastic fish anywhere Bass swim. That's the size that gets me giddy like a kitty, and gives me that false sense of "yeah I'm a pro" feeling ?
  6. thanks friend! Way to go brother, beautiful fish! That's some seriously hot fishing. I wish you Yanks would weigh some of these fish, I have no context for length A 5lb Bass down here can be super short and fat, or longer and skinner. What do you think that 20" fish weighed? Seriously, this is like half the forum using Metric system, and the other half using Imperial lol
  7. Haha, and if I ever start catching Bass one after the other, I'll think of you ? Back to us mere mortals, I caught a couple Spots, and two quality LGMs. Both were short chunky fish, with the bigger going somewhere in the 3lb range. Absolutely inhaled a Jackhammer with a 4" Live Magic Shad. Both fish did, yet besides those two fish and the couple of Spots, it was a really tough outing. Biggest catch of the day was getting back my brand new Jackhammer that got stuck right before dark. I got this rigged up homemade lure knocker hook thingy that is working pretty good.
  8. Congrats to the Vols......I hear it was an epic game. I was fishing an empty lake, and occasionally would hear loud screams. I knew I'd have the lake to myself deep in Bama country. War Eagle ?
  9. Welp time to go fishing......I can't fathom how they gave this dude 22mil while Dansby is going to walk more than likely
  10. I'm turning a light shade of green with extreme envy Katie, absolutely incredible day you had! I think that's the best day I've seen you have, and that's saying something. Those Smallies, especially the first one is really beautiful!
  11. It's not so much that you need to wait, you just need some forgiveness or stretch in the equation in order to give the fish the extra milliseconds needed to get the bait fully in the mouth unlike a bait at rest. I don't have this problem with treble hooked moving baits, but single hooked ones was a really big problem for me until I recently realized I needed a certain amount of "forgiveness" in a rod tip to fish these baits for maximum hookup percentage. You catch like a 100 Bass each time out, I wouldn't sweat missing a few ?
  12. Depends on the time of year to some degree, and also just how prevalent baitfish are in your lake. Generally speaking, they will be densely located in an area of the lake, and within that sub section you'll find yourself chasing around the schools of baitfish. They never stay in same exact location but once you get on them, it's not hard to stay around them if that makes sense. Side Imaging really helps as well because the shad balls show up really well and expand the area you have to look for them. In my home lake, the threadfin will school up in balls that run 50 ft in length. You can't miss them when they get like that. I've learned a ton from @WRB on using your sonar to find the life zone, baitfish, etc. Maybe he can weigh in on all of this.
  13. Not a drop shot guy, but can provide pics showing the differences b/t balls of threadfins, Crappie schools, and then Bass diving into the bait First pic shows quality fish in red, and in green were smaller 1-2lb fish I was able to catch on that particular day. Second image shows quality Bass again with their bellies in the mud, and above them are two schools of Crappie blowing up 1-2" sized threadfins
  14. This is beyond embarrassing as an Auburn man. The entire program needs to be blown up. Urban Meyer is scummy, but we need a proven winner.
  15. As a sports better, 9 points is ridiculous. They should beat that into the TN player's heads......look at how you're being disrespected by Vegas
  16. Awesome, thanks for the info. Much more spooky than Wood Ducks and some of the other bigger ones on the lake. They don't want to let you get within a couple hundred yards of them.
  17. RED ALERT: Forecasted to go as low as 34 on Tuesday in central AL for a historic low/date......I can't handle those temps, Panhandle.....I'm coming home baby ? Two days before that, the high is going to be 84......this is Alabama weather perfectly summed up
  18. Yeah I'd say so lol Fat healthy big fish. Great looking combo.
  19. First one don't look 2lbs to me, looks double that at least ? What's the rod/reel combo? I assume some type of calcutta. Looks Gucci, and I like Gucci lol
  20. Glad I went fishing, what an embarrassing loss. They have always been known as most classless organization and fanbase in all of sports. Their punishment is living in the city known as Philidelphia.
  21. @TnRiver46 Maybe this is a better pic for your friend, saw the same flocks of ducks again today.
  22. You got it friend, hate to hear that you are going through it.
  23. How many days can you say that you set a PB on a species, and equally lost a PB on a species after an epic fight. In between those two events lots of smaller 1-2lb Bass were caught. The heart breaking bit first: There I was Yo Yoing a 1/8 Chatterbait Flashback Mini on a 7'2 MH F SLX rod with an old Team Daiwa 2000 series spinning reel with Stren 8lb test mono across a very deep point off the main lake channel. Midway retrieve on the fall of the Yo Yo, I saw the line screaming before I felt the strike, I immediately hit the fish with everything I had in me. Immediately upon setting the hook, a 2ft+ dark object briefly came within about 6" of the surface, and as it dove back down and offshore it left what seemingly looked like a small boat wake. At this point the fish is running for the deepest water offshore possible, and there is nothing I can do to slow it down, never heard a freshwater drag tear loose like this today. Over the next minute or two in open water I struggle to keep line on the reel with anything but max drag, and it's clear to me max drag is going to break this fish off in a nano second. With the boat starting to be pulled by the fish, it began to tire to the point it decided to do the notorious big catfish "line twist/roll/thump" thing they do, and this fish must have wrapped himself up really good because the fight stopped, and I was left with the entire dead weight of this fish on the end. It was only at this point while trying to literally winch what I'm honestly guesstimating a 15-20lb Channel Catfish the old classic Stren 8lb mono decided to give way, can't blame it really. I pray and believe 99% this was a huge Channel catfish. If so, it would have unquestionably been the biggest catfish I've ever caught. If you read all that, here's some joy......caught my PB Crappie today, and caught lots of small Bass on a Crank, Roboworm, and Chatterbait. Not a Crappie guy, but this one is twice the size as any I've ever caught, so much so I had to weigh it. Love this shot just because it's got my favorite tree in it
  24. HAHA, I've been trying to figure out how to pronounce it, and what it means since I bought it ? Fish didn't want my Digle yesterday.....I'll never see this bait the same way again, thanks ?
  25. I can see tech in 10 years being borderline uncompetitive, but at the moment Livescope isn't some magic ju ju. Pros are paying lots of money to folks in order to learn how to best use this tech. It's anything but an underwater camera as some think it essentially is. I love the intersection of tech and fishing, and my dream is to make a device like Google Glasses that projects your waypoints and marked structure across the area of lake you are looking at (something I've been dreaming of for years). Think about if your fishing area had red buoy markers over your marked structure, that only you can see, and never needs to be picked up. Absolute gamechanger.
