  1. Nice, can't wait to see some beautiful Maine Bass caught off it. 100% agree about the packaging. It's the little things sometimes. The level of detail on the bait itself is incredible....the top of the removable tails have the same matching scale pattern as the top of the bait. I mean no fish is ever gonna care about that, but who does.....this guy lol. The bait is almost too pretty to fish with.....almost ?
  2. I'm just getting started, so I'm trying to buy the wallet friendly models. The BD Shad seems awesome, but you've got to glue the tail section I've found. Bought a 6th Sense Trace yesterday, and I think it's the coolest bait I've ever owned. The BD Shad was 25, and the Trace was 35. Haven't gotten the Bluegills ones yet. Gonna try the Trace later today, and will report back on the differences b/t the two. I like these baits because of that big Gizzard shad I found at the end of summer. Dang near identical looking baits. Thread is full of diehard Bass heads, you got to love Bass to put in the work that folks like you and Katie put in especially. Beautiful fish...last one with those deep colors to it. I did laugh that a guy who owns a small fortune in big swimbaits, picks up discarded worms and fixes them ?
  3. Yeah according to @TnRiver46 I think they are neater of the two. Thing can dive underwater for some time.
  4. The baits sound complicated, but they are incredibly easy to use outside of the chunking and winding part. They swim in a relatively tight S pattern, and anytime you jerk it, it causes the bait to turn sideways. I'm a newbie, but I'll just sit there mesmerized by how amazing they look in the water. Lots of people swim them up to a piling, dock, or piece of cover, and then hit that jerk to make the bait turn sideways. Others do it when they are trying to coax that strike from a follower, and lastly I add them randomly on the retrieve for any fish that might be following.
  5. Hope your mom gets better, and you catch a bunch of fish! The fact is that you're a great son and did everything you could do for your mom. Pretty sure your mom wouldn't want you feeling guilty and would urge you to do exactly what you're going to do. I let my fishing goals stand in the way of joy and therapy many times, wish it wasn't so. Then again I wouldn't fish nearly as much if I wasn't driven to accomplish personal goals on the water.
  6. Congrats on your new PB, and piggie. That's a fantastic fish, and that's the real prize in my eyes. The reason I love the idea of big hard swimbaits vs soft swimbaits is situations like yours. You can get those hard baits to turn around and stare that fish in the face and get that instinct bite.
  7. HAHA......I'd rather fish for fishing lures than Bass. Do you guys offer any guided finding lure trips? ?
  8. Awesome just one point to note....the smaller models are picky about trailers. I've found the Armor Shad in 3" to be perfect. the 3/8th is my favorite, but the 1/2oz catches a ton of fish too. I like the Gizzard Shad color.
  9. If we could catch 50 Bass a morning, we wouldn't have the time to buy or research tackle either ? Dang, not only would I get a kick out of finding the regular lures you guys do, but to find $25 swimbaits......LUCKEEEE ?
  10. I bought it at Mark's the other day, action is amazing, high-quality hardware as well, however I just had to go back to Marks today to exchange it for another one because the nylon tail flew out on a cast. Then I get the new one, check it, and it slides right out. So while very budget friendly, and great in every other regard, be prepared to glue this bait from the jump. Duckett Baits BD Shad Slow Sinking Swimbaits - Tackle Warehouse It's got this killer strong magnet that holds a unique front treble tight to the body.
  11. "picking the charred meat from the ribs was the best part" Yep, that's what I love too. It's the polar opposite of Tuna, or Swordfish for example....I just don't like that type of fish meat.
  12. Almost bought one of the Bucca Bull Shads today instead of the 6th Sense, my shop has all his baits....even little ones the size of crankbaits.....gonna for sure get one or two of those. He's a guide over in GA, and I've been thinking about booking him in the future. He's a true big "Spot hunter" ?
  13. Never had redfish, but only like white flakey type fish grilled......to say that looks good is an understatement. Picking that white flakey meat off a Red Snapper or Grouper....heck even a Rainbow Trout is so tasty.
  14. You're just like a trophy Bass Katie, they don't get that way by being stupid ? The world is crazy today, and when you get around folks with nothing to lose, it makes it all the more dangerous. Every person in my life I care about I try to convince to conceal carry a firearm. Beautiful fish as always, crazy how 99%+ of your fish are blemish free, and a model of health. You gotta love seeing healthy fish. It tickles me pink when I catch one with a fat belly, and blemish free.
  15. SEEK HELP IMMEDIATELY ? Been trying to grow my toolbox the last week after getting a new big bait rod. 2 for 2 on the big Swimbait.....both quality fish 2 for 3 on the A-Rig......both smaller fish, but did have a big Spot hammer it right at the boat Jackall Crank and Jackhammer still putting in work when my arm gets tired lol
  16. Starting to see that just getting these big baits is half the fun. They are almost to beautiful, and cool to fish with lol. Check out this 6th Sense Trace.....comes with an extra tail. Very sticky hooks, good orings. Seems quality for $35
  17. Sounds crazy, but trolling a Chatterbait works amazingly well. Single hook. Different weight models to get you deeper, maybe run it on Fluorocarbon as well. MiniMax and Flashback Mini models work really well, big ones I don't try it with.
  18. Lol......you haven't even begun to know what a wuss is in regards to cold weather. Every year that passes I think Alabama is too cold ? Big swimbait investment paying off I see ?
  19. Excellent explanation, thanks. The multiple jointed swimbaits as you describe are the ones I'd like to "master" first.
  20. What exactly is the difference between a glide bait and a hard swimbait? Thanks for the rec on the Triple Fish....googling right now.
  21. They made the Zillions to nice, the law of diminishing returns kicks in quick unless you looking at the BFS models.
  22. Oh I get why they cost so much money in terms of the high end, highly custom lures. I'd be foolish to buy them at this point in my learning curve though. That's why I like Jackall baits so much, they have done lots of R&D on baits, and then mass produce them enough to at least be semi affordable to the average Joe. One day I'll buy baits like this hopefully. Clearly the results speak for themselves in regard to this Clutch Glide.
  23. Dang.....$140 for that bait. All sold out too, every single bait they make is sold out. Big swimbait is big business ?
  24. My main competitors chilling together which is something I've never seen until today
  25. Heck yeah dude, big swimbait produces big time for you. I'd say that bait paid for itself easy by now. Guess I need to get that one, love the look of it. 50-60mph winds is bordering a Tornado in Alabama LOL. I had a big Spot hammer an Alabama Rig a foot from the boat today that scared the little girl out of me. Fishing these big baits is far more like saltwater fishing than Bass fishing to me thus far. Agree with Katie, beautiful fish, and beautiful scenery! Little fattie eating those Little Debbies down there ?
