  1. A Shimano SLX fits at the bottom of your budget, and is a fantastic rod! I sadly broke mine a few days ago, but it was dynamite. It was the 7" MH Fast though. They offer a M action in the same lineup. Shimano SLX A Spinning Rods - Tackle Warehouse
  2. Nature never fails to amaze me.....look at just how well the female Mallard blends in.
  3. Go figure I catch a couple Crappie after trying to catch them for 3 days with Tuffy minnows lol. Caught 4 other Bass, all small fish. 3 Spots and a LGM. Bass on the MiniMax, Crappie on the Flashback mini. The amount of Bass, and seemingly large Bass I'm seeing stacked and suspended on the edges or around the edges of the main lake channels is frustrating. I'm just picking off some random fish. The big fish have been offshore seemingly for a few weeks now. I'm sure a pro could catch these fish, and with enough time I could learn what they'll eat.
  4. Dang that stinks......that almost creates a "photobucket situation" where tech threads that had pics no longer have pics because the OP had to delete them. Same goes for threads in general, many people read old threads. Figures you'd know, and help out.....you are without a doubt one of the most helpful, and informative members on this site. Thanks!
  5. So regardless of what thread I try to reply to......it says the max total size I can upload a file is 4.88kb. Up until this point in my forum usage, I could post 1.46mb files IIrc. Did I somehow max out my limit for posting pics or something like you can for emotions? I can't post pics at all now because of this. Any help would be appreciated
  6. I remember just a few short years ago when America was energy independent, and I was paying $2 at the pump. The guys cashing the largest checks in Bass fishing are using copious amounts of fluorocarbon, maybe they are doing it just because #BigFluorocarbon has their greedy little hooks into them ?
  7. Greenpig is a Spotpig ?
  8. If you eat lots of fish, don't worry you've already eaten lots of worms.
  9. Perfect pic, that looks the most like what I saw. What an awesome bird! Appreciate it pal
  10. No, and it wasn't really bothered by me like the many, many Hawks we have around here. It's also bigger than any Hawk I've seen around here. It cleaned itself, and then just flew off no diving. Hope it's an Osprey, I can add that to the list of species on the lake. You the man, didn't even consider that. Only really just started paying attention to all these creatures as I want to learn all the diversity on the lake. Now I got competition from three fish eaters lol
  11. Lol, I swear half the days I fish is because of the "not knowing" part. I always think if I don't go when I could have, that's when I would have caught my new PB, or had raw thumbs. Like you said, I can see both sides and as somebody who lives in the South I can't relate to having to sit that long on a sour outing.
  12. Haha, that's awesome, and bless you for doing other bad human's work. The Gantarel is the best find I've seen posted since joining the thread. I just asked for a couple of them for my Bday. So you guys were dead on the money......it's a MegaBass 1/2 Ito Vision 110 in Megabass Sexy Shad. Out of all the 50+ colors at TW, ironically this is the exact color I would have picked out. My home lake is like a moving body of Threadfins. Whoever lost this bait has a pretty good knowledge of Bass fishing to know to buy a $25 Japanese gucci jerkbait in the exact color that best matches the body of water. Makes me a little sad because I know what it feels like to lose a Japanese bait. Something about JDM baits makes me value them more. Put in about 30-45mins cleaning it up, not all the way there yet as the top still has some algae spots. Used Simple Green concentrate and toothbrush. Missing an eye, needs new hardware, but all things considering, it's a beautiful bait still. edited.....dang this thing is giving me problems uploading the right size photos
  13. Magnificent specimen All you Yanks say you're done, then you post a pig ?
  14. Love them dark beauties you catch
  15. Dang out of emotions, but that sounds like the ticket. Balance it out with some finesse stuff.
  16. This BD Shad really seems to produce. Last couple weeks have been really tough as we're stuck in a holding pattern....water fell nicely from 85 to 65 before that, but has stalled out in the mid 60s. This bait beats the skunk like a ned rig or roboworm lol. Every fish has hit the bait like a freight train. This one was somewhere in that 3-4lb range. Yes they are hard on your body......4 days of throwing either an A Rig or 5"+ hard swimbait has my shoulder barking something fierce. It's a new rod, so I'm hoping I chill out. I've been throwing them for most of my sessions, if I would mix in other stuff I'm sure it would be all good. That's a great point though, they are a pain to chunk. Yeah I'm done bomb casting these baits for a minute ?
  17. @TnRiver46 Can you tell me if this is a Red Tailed Hawk or a Red Shouldered Hawk.....thinking a Red Tailed Hawk. Really big Hawk.
  18. HAHAHAHA....the doggies got me. I only saw the one in the last video I watched of yours. What good puppers
  19. That trailer looks awesome. You have a great group of friends it seems, something quite rare, and something that takes work to maintain. Looking forward to seeing the report on the 12th Annual Redfish Rodeo
  20. For sure, these are the coolest lures imho. It's easy enough to become a Crankbait collector, big swimbaits seems like they should come with a Surgeon's General warning ?
  21. I never realized folks were experts at finding bunches of lures until this thread. Most of you guys don't luck upon your finds. I've always wanted to get into finding arrowheads, maybe that's why I love this thread
  22. Appreciate the info friends, gonna wait like what was suggested, and see what kind of treasure lies beneath. I could see myself just fishing for lures....finding a big swimbait would be like a DD ?
  23. Your posts have a level of detail, and organization that makes them very enjoyable to read. Concise, yet informative. Looks like an awesome time, beautiful fish, and beautiful friends......what more could you ask for in life
  24. That catfish one is crazy cool!!! Beautiful deep rich colored fish as well. Those are some pigs.
  25. SHE SAYS ONLY 17 ? You so spoiled lol, beautiful fat fish! Beautiful lake as well! There is a certain inherit magic a lake, pond, bog, river that doesn't get pressured by humans. Great report, and get some rest......after all, your season technically ended when you called it before catching hundreds more quality fish ? She's just ripping off Hank Hill ?? edited.....look up the Hank Hill fishing video, don't want to get in trouble lol
