  1. Haha, that thing is cool. Look forward to seeing you post a fish on it lol. Thing is wild
  2. I'm reminded of the younger aged gentlemen who found the actual spot where is dad caught the 10lb Erie SM. That dude searched for a long time for that spot and used the most advanced electronics. There is a huge financial and time investment with most honey holes. I doubt that's the last massive SM he catches from that location, but his boat will be a marked target after that catch and publicity. He'll have drones following him lol.
  3. Most people would consider one of those fish a bucket list deal, congrats! From watching your videos of some of these, and then those pics.....seems you've locked down on at least two locations that you're finding the big fish at. Lake Menderchuck is safe though, not enough intel provided, and I live too far away ?
  4. San Diego and Honolulu have the two most stable average barometric pressure ranges in the US. Whereas here in central Alabama it's like a literal roller coaster. What Areas in the USA Have the Fewest Barometric Pressure Changes? (unitedstatesnow.org) I learned this years ago because I believe barometric pressure plays a vastly larger role in our own health than science has yet to show or prove. If I could live anywhere climate wise it would be SoCal. Dang shame it's inhabited by other humans ?
  5. It's a Rorschach test lol. Knowing his background and how he has taught numerous big name pros FFS, I can see that aspect. If he is truly showing you a glimpse into his highly unique FFS technique, and you care about that.....who cares if you catch a fish on his boat or not. The whole give a man a fish or teach a man to fish deal. I'm not carrying his water, but I also think value is in the eye of the beholder, if I had a FFS equipped boat, I'd be dying at the chance to learn from this guy whether he's catching a DD on my dime or not. I want his knowledge, not a "canned" slam dunk on a DD fish.
  6. Is it confirmed that he's charging $2000 to watch him fish, or for him to specifically let the client take a single cast and then the fish is Josh's. I can see him charging $2000 but can't see him doing it with all those stipulations, and those stipulations make him sound quite bad. Pendulum Jigging ?
  7. Thanks, that's weird because in the deepest parts of my homelake it's the highest temps on my sonar, whereas the shallower I go the colder it gets. I know I'm only reading surface temps, but on like a flat in 10ft of water it will be 46.5, and then in 32ft of main body water it was 48.8 IIrc. I'm confused, I just want my expensive JDM baits to suspend ?
  8. Where you at in FLA? That can play a huge role, but generally speaking FLA is paradise this time of year. Florida man is real however lol
  9. Thanks, out of emotions lol. Yeah I made note of that in the email I sent to Megabass just now. My temps were 46-48degrees today. The 110jr +1 has suspends just as well today as it did when the water was 56-58degrees. The 110jr model was suspending perfectly in 64 degree water. This caught me off guard, maybe that's why they were giving away a free Sleeper Gill ? edit: I'm testing them all the same......I run them about two feet below the surface where I can barely see them, and then observe. I have no idea what they are doing at 7-9ft.....send me FFS lol. I imagine it's warmer down there, but by how much I'm not sure.
  10. For sure, I got mine for $200. At that price I'm back on board vs. the Expride.
  11. They are dynamite. they are picky on trailers, and I've found the 3" Armor Shads are perfect for them. The ones I bought earlier would be perfect for it. My local store had a crazy deal today......buy any fullsize 110 which I was going in to buy anyways, get a free Sleeper Gill. Basically 110s for $15. The problem is that both 110 models don't come anywhere close to suspending. They both rose a bit slower than traditional floating bait. My 110 and 110Jr from before suspend perfectly nose down. Guess I'll ask MegaBass about them, very disappointing but I'm already hooked on them to the Nth degree.
  12. I see an Expride B in my future, they certainly feel awesome in the hand. Congrats!
  13. What TNRiver46 said, I mean that's dozens of smaller questions all within one. I'm in Alabama, I can perhaps shine some light on what your home lake might be doing, but you could be on a variety of different types of "lakes". The more you tell us about the lake, the more folks can give you information that's accurate for your situation. I read on here early on from member WRB about finding the life zone, in the summer that effectively cuts off half the areas in my home lake I have to look because of the thermocline, however in the winter these fish can go 30ft+ in my home lake now. What he also said however is that after establishing that aspect, find bait. I'm terribly paraphrasing but I really took that to heart along with having my first quality sonar unit, and now my main objective is to find bait on that sonar. If you can do that, you can catch fish.......sometimes the bait this time of year with the warm patterns we get like right now going forward for 8-10days will push up way shallow, then after this huge 3 day deep freeze we had over XMAS, the main lake body in the deepest sections were holding a carpet of baitfish for a thousand yards. FIND THE BAIT
  14. I went back to my fun store today and fondled a bunch of high end rods which obviously can only tell you so much....however I see your point. I was looking at specifically the Destroyer, Orochi, and then Levante in their "Jerkbait Special". I used the Expride 6'10 medium which I'm pretty sure is the gold standard in Jerkbait rods. The $279 Expride was significantly nicer in the hand than both the high end MegaBass models, and that's the rod I would pick. That said, the Levante again was a fantastic option at $250, but for 30 more I feel the Expride B was the better option. Didn't mean to derail OP's thread.
  15. Thanks Aaron! You catch em bigger than me, but I completely agree, the moment you realize you have a different class of fish hooked is an indescribable feeling of exhilaration and fear all rolled together lol. Slower day with only 4 fish caught, but everyone was a really quality fish. Caught a 4.7lb on the Flashback mini w 3" Armor Shad, easily the biggest Bass caught on my magic little bait, and she came on spinning tackle. Then caught a 4.3 on the MB 110Jr +1. Loving the new scale, so much faster and easier to weigh fish now. The big highlight was a Crappie oddly enough. I know very little about Crappie, but I suspect this is a big one. It weighed 2.7lbs, and it just looked almost cartoonish in comparison to any other Crappie I've seen. Huge stomach, just a beautiful fish. Kind of wish I took some measurements in case I want a replica mount but wasn't sure if that was replica mount worthy. State record is 4.5. WR is 5.7/5.2 for the respective subspecies
  16. Very cool, looks like a dynamite Bass snack. The fish I posted is a Wild Golden Shiner. You can also buy Golden Shiners at bait shops. Typically, around here, you never see "Wild" Golden Shiners. People just buy smaller versions of the one I posted whenever I've seen them in the past.
  17. Wow, so that's where the Escape from Dannemora (prison escape docudrama on Showtime IIrc) happened. Always heard upstate NY is incredibly beautiful. Already looking forward to your pics once the ice thaws
  18. edited.....Bass only That's gonna be tough
  19. It's getting criminal at this point.
  20. I think it looks great. I just have dark bluegills down here. The lighter color would be better I'd imagine for you.
  21. You two share so many wonderful attributes in common. I see exactly why you loved that post so much.
  22. You fish in some of the most picturesque places. Loved seeing those places when you were posting them in the fall with the mountains and leaves. I'd love to see the Northern Lights! Still waiting to see my first Eagle as well. Trying to raise money right now to build a nest on the homelake. I went to Auburn and before every home game they fly the Eagle around the stadium, epic goosebumps every time, then they usually do a fly over with F16s or something. Murica, Freak ya!?
  23. Wow, that's awesome! She's a lucky woman to have such a caring and capable husband. If that would have been me I would have brought home a treadmill and hung my head in shame ?
  24. Thank you Bob, and Scott for the very kind words! Can't wait until you heal up Scott, and he's helping me find another boat so eventually we can post a twofer report! Can't wait until you get one of these fish on your new suspending jerkbaits Bob, they are a blast to fish with ?
