  1. No it's not which isn't what I suspected. This isn't a huge lake, about 150-200acres.....but is relatively deep for it's size as well. Lots of places with 30+ ft of water. Over 3 days, I can't even see an improvement yet. Hopefully you don't run into this stuff. Second pic is from before on 1/2, first pic is from today 3 days after the rain. strong enough for me to still haul gear to a boat.....get on the water for the 30mins, and then drag it all home like a fool for 3 straight days.......Einstein had a quote about this, something, something definition of insanity ?
  2. Naw, it came of the flashback mini, imagine the only way the fish found the bait was the vibration. That's the worst part, it killed the Jerkbait bite I had been on for a few weeks....#firstworldproblems ? You got it Katie, flashback mini. Maybe tomorrow I break out the Whopper Plopper ?
  3. Caught about 10 fish on the Jerkbait the day before an epic 24hr rain/thunder storm (1/2).......went out on the water now for three straight days and the lake still looks like chocolate milk. I'm amazed I caught a fish today. Viz is measured in inches....3-4" maybe. After and before pics tell the story, I can't even imagine what the fish are trying to do right now. Never seen it like this, let alone take now 3+ days to recover. This sucks, peak PB season Thread must be bumped though ?
  4. Target lock impresses me the most haha......smart trolling motor and a good casting deck, has to be what Heaven looks like ?
  5. Down here February is regarded as the best month to catch your PB, but the majority I know including myself were caught during the summer months. I hurt my shoulder going nuts with a new big Swimbait/Arig setup in the early Fall, I started to troll, and stroll somethings for the first time in my life, and I think I might have learned more from trolling/strolling than any other single thing since starting back. Trolling/Strolling is every bit as much of a skill as casting, have no idea how the stigma got so bad around it. I listened to a interview with the SM WR holder, and he was a master troller. Seems like many of the old school big Bass legends were trollers. I think the outrigger suggestion would be fantastic. Some learning curve I'd imagine like how you would net or land fish, but once it warms up they'd come off. I've seen some with just a single outrigger, maybe something like this would work, and you could fight the fish to non outrigger side. THIS IS SPARTAN ? Better to fish with them, then not be fishing at all.....I get your concern, I almost took a swim a few weeks back foolishly trying to get a lure.....I sat down and pondered what the consequences would have been, and given it was 48d water with 55d air temps....I'm thinking a cold for sure. Unlike you in a canoe though, the jon boat would have been vastly easier to get back in and haul tail to the dock.
  6. LOL at using the term FOMO in Bass fishing, that's exactly what I feel everyday even when I'm fishing ?
  7. I had a kidney stone in 2020, I thought I was truly dying. 4th round of IV pain meds in the ER finally got me feeling better. Scott is right, the nurse told me it's comparable to childbirth. The level of pain was so much that from that day on, I only drink water. Hope you feel better Gary!
  8. Man that's awesome, with the feeder, and aeration your pond is gonna have some big fish in it! Do you follow the PondBoss, if not you should check him out. Has some awesome info for guys like yourself.
  9. My best day ever on Spots and perhaps fishing in general was on the biggest suspending Rattling Rouge models. They just work, they are ugly but they work. The Visions catch both me and the Bass ?
  10. Living the dream Bob! Those fish feeders and Aquamax produce some massive fish. What does that awesome solar panel in the background power?
  11. I haven't used all of them, but recently just put 8# Invizx on a Certate 3000, more manageable than mono, amazing stuff. Worth every penny on a spinning reel. Buy a spool of the Invizx and do what others preach here, back it with cheap mono, and just top fill 75-100yds of the Invizx, that way you'll get at least two respools off a spool. About $10 per respool. edit: I never had to use it, will do it next time, but I bought Reel Magic, and others recommend the KVD line treatment, makes a big difference on some lines, but Invizx is so manageable out of the box I didn't fool with it.
  12. "Welcome to the world of MegaBass" ?
  13. bought a couple of those divine Swimjigs as well.....Josh Jones marketing works ?
  14. How many things in life truly make you shake out of sheer joy, excitement, and release a massive dump of adrenaline/dopamine, especially the older you get? How many things make you stop cold in your tracks and thank the universe, or your God for? The reason these things happen is because of the rarity of catching a large Bass, thus one at least has to tolerate the process of "fishing" in order to score the drug that is "catching" a large Bass. I'm not addicted to fishing, however I'm a hopeless junkie for catching. An addict will go to great lengths to score a fix, a Basshead is no different, the process is just called fishing. We're all here because we're addicted to the truly indescribable feeling of catching a large Bass, prove me wrong ?
  15. I gotta be honest, after buying a number of 5 & 6" BD Shads (slow sink), I'm not sure how the Bull Shads warrant almost $40 more. At $25 they are a steal, and the 6" has the most wicked turnaround you could imagine. The BD Shad is a dynamite bait. Try it out if you are fan of the Shad hard swimbaits
  16. So you guys don't have earthworms in MN?
  17. I'm not a big wave surfer, but I love the documentaries about them. Basically a select few big wave chasers watch the weather all year long, and then fly out a few times a year to far off places when the swells are going to be epic. This sounds similar to OH Ivie at the moment. Everybody is flocking there.
  18. Yeah that's a huge deal for me. I need to see that first fish come on board, then things lighten up a bit.

  20. The rush and elation of catching a big Bass is a strong narcotic, the more you catch, the more you want of it. I let my addiction get in the way of nature many times. I'm out there for the thrill of catching an Apex predator, but I never fail to appreciate the unique opportunity I'm blessed with by being on the water, and immersed in nature. I don't have to catch Bass, but I need something to pull on my line occasionally to feel like I'm not just a pleasure crafter.
  21. What a toad, I'll buy one of these for sure, thanks!
  22. Is this considered the Vision 110 of Buzzbaits, or is there one? We truly could be fishing brothers and that's me being an Auburn man, and you a UGA man ?
