  1. I went out from about 7pm-9pm tonight and caught 6 largemouth. Two on a spook, three on a Senko, and one on a swim jig. The biggest one was 2lb 15oz. The weather was perfect this evening.
  2. It took about 10 minutes to land my new PB today. Caught it on a spook and it buried itself in some vegetation about 25 yards from shore on a ridge with deep drop offs on both sides. I had to go in after it with my jeans on in over a foot of mud and water to my waist. At first I thought about breaking off and figured the fish was gone but then it started fighting again. It was really tangled up and I had to pull it out by hand. Not a monster, but I fought for every 5lb 3oz of it.
  3. I cooked this Canada goose breast a couple of nights ago. Salt and pepper, sear on all sides, then into a 400° oven for about 10 minutes. Take it out once internal temp hits 130°. It tastes pretty similar to Mallard. Just don't go past medium rare and it's great!
  4. 3lb 10oz on a frog tonight. Blew up and missed it the first time so I casted back to the same spot. I had my drag cranked down and he was still pulling. Reeled him in with a big ball of grass. Heck of a fight! I only got one bad picture then my phone died.
  5. I still have some trout from last spring I need to finish up. I just use freezer bags and squeeze out as much air as I can. It works ok for 6-12 months but I'm going to switch to plastic wrap and butcher paper this fall for waterfowl, squirrel, and, hopefully, a deer.
  6. The Aird-X is a great rod. I would start with a medium fast spinning and then look for a medium heavy baitcaster down the road. I would go with some dingers or senkos, gamakatsu 2/0 or 3/0 EWG hooks, weights, jig heads, trick worms, paddle tails, grubs, a small spinnerbait, and a popper or small spook.
  7. Spooks and swim jigs for me.
  8. I usually bring a M/F spinning and two MH/F baitcasters. One with 12 copolymer and the other with 50lb braid. I can either run straight braid use a leader on the second baitcaster. These three along with a backpack for tackle cover just about everything. Occasionally I'll add a M/MF baitcaster or an ultralight spinner.
  9. A bunch of us got together at a friend's 5 acre pond for a cookout and fishing on Saturday. It was really foggy early and we were on a good top water bite until about 930. I caught 5 on a spook, 4 on a swim jig, 1 on a Senko, and a bullfrog on a frog. Almost all were in the 2 to 3lb range. My best was 2-15; biggest bass of the day was 3-4. The frog was 1-4. Lol. An excellent day!
  10. Florida bass Super spook jr
  11. Keitech 4" Swing impact Zoom Trick Worm Zoom Super Fluke Zoom UV Speed Craw 5" Senko
  12. One of my favorite setups when they won't hit a moving bait is a Trick worm on a 3/0 EWG with a 1/4 oz worm weight. I only use finesse worms for drop shots and shakey heads but I might have to give them a try on a T-rig.
  13. I was finally able to fish again on Sunday. I only got out once in February and hadn't caught anything since January. I had clear skies and a strong southerly wind. The bite was tough and I drove around to a few different pits. I tried a spook, spinnerbait, swim bait, and Texas rigged craw before I finally got one on a Texas rigged trick worm on a point. About 3.5 hours work for a little 14 incher, but worth it.
  14. I don't have many rods but I have two MH/F that cover about 95% of my bass fishing. One is spooled with 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid and the other with 50lb Power Pro. You could try each with some different line combinations.
  15. 3700 size boxes and plastics stay in original bags inside of a gallon freezer bag. Everything goes into an Army surplus Molle assault pack along with some basic survival items. It serves multiple roles as a tackle/overnight camping/hunting bag.
  16. Depending on conditions a paddle tail swim bait or a spinnerbait.
  17. I'm thinking a spook, trick worm, or spinnerbait; but every bass I've caught so far this year has come on a Keitech swing impact.
  18. Rainbow trout with rice tonight.
  19. I second the Berkeley Fusion swim bait heads. Keitechs never slide down.
  20. Cooked up some more Mallard the other night with a baked potato.
  21. Every bass I've caught this January has been on a Keitech swing impact on a 1/4 oz Berkeley Fusion swim bait jig head. Definitely a cold water confidence bait for me. All we're caught slow rolling just over the bottom.
  22. My 4 year old daughter loves white bass. I cut it into chunks, roll in corn meal and spices and pan fry. She calls them fish nuggets. I could go for some fish nuggets and catfish right now.
  23. The only baitcasters I currently have are an SLX, LFS, and Tatula CT. The SLX is the smoothest by far and the farthest casting. My next reel will probably be an SLX XT, Curado K, or Curado 150 MGL.
